Dr. Howard Schneider earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) from NYU Dental School in 1987 and completed his pediatric dentistry specialty training from Eastman Dental Center in 1989. His specialty training included treating children with special needs, dental phobias, and medically compromising conditions. Dr. Schneider established his practice in Huntington Village in 1990 and has served the Huntington community for over 27years. He is on staff at Huntington Hospital, since 1997, and is one of the most experienced pediatric dentists on Long Island.
Dr. Schneider and his family live in the Town of Huntington and he is an active member of the Huntington area community. Dr. Schneider regularly presents his dental health puppet show Take A Brush Break to local preschoolers and primary school children at nursery schools, public schools, and libraries. He is Vice President of Operations & Programing at Temple Beth El of Huntington;Presidentof Dentists for a Better Huntington, a group which raises funds for Huntington area community charities;and he participates in the Family Service Leagues Save-A-Smile Dental Program that provides charitable dental services to children in need.
Dr. Schneider is active in his professional community as well. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, and the Suffolk County Dental Society. In addition to presenting programs toother dentists on Pediatric Dentistry and fluoride, he actively serves the Suffolk County Dental Society, where he has been on the Board of Delegates/Directors since 1993 and is the Societys Childrens Dental Health Month Chairperson and Co-Chair of their Give Kids a Smile Event. He and his staff are continually honing their skills in pediatric dentistry by attending professional continuing education classes.

Very bad experience. Came in with my 2.5 year old and her baby sister. They didn't do much to try to make her comfortable (the hygienist was very nice) and she screamed and squirmed. They acted liked she was horrible and weren't at all reassuring (hard to imagine her behavior wasn't typical for a toddlers first dentist visit). She had some pre cavities and they acted like that was a huge problem. I don't know maybe it is? When I scheduled the appointment I gave them my insurance info, after the appointment was over the receptionist said they don't take my insurance so I had to pay out of pocket. I told her I was surprised she didn't tell me this when I gave her my insurance info when I scheduled the appointment, she said "well we take most Cigna plans but not yours." Spent $225 for a 5 minute visit. Never going back. It wasn't dr Schneider who looked at her teeth, not sure what her name was.

Amazing dentist!! Took my son there for the first time at a young age due to a chipped tooth. Dr Schneider made the experience easy and my son has loved going to the dentist ever since. We are so lucky to have such a kind, caring dentist to care for our sons teeth.

I would not recommend Dr. Howard Schenider pediatric dentist. His office staff is the worst!!! They are not organized. The staff does not understand how to deal with out of network patients. The staff is rude and treat people badly. DR. does not care that they are rude and puts his staff before his paitents. Be aware.

Dr. Schneider and his staff are always so friendly and accommodating! We never wait for appointments and my son loves going to the dentist - he has been seeing Dr. Schneider since the age of 2! Highly recommend

My daughters first visit was right before her first birthday she chipped her tooth and Dr. Schneider took great care of her. Now my girls are 3 and 5 and go in regularly for cleanings. The hygienists are always great with them and make them feel very comfortable and smiling the whole time. Dr. Schneider is so good with them explaining (on their level) what he is doing and keeping them happy during the exam. So happy their experiences at the dentist have been so positive that they ask when they get to go back!

My kids have been going to Dr Schneider since they were young toddlers. Excellant services and a real understanding of children's needs both medically and psychologically. My kids actually look forward to dentist visits there! No kicking and screaming plus great care!

Very nice dr and staff. Very patient. They have some nice toys in the lobby area for the little kids to play with. We got in to see the dr quickly and on time. Dr allowed me to hold my toddler for the appointment. It was quick and easy. My son even got a sticker and a new toothbrush afterwards. They don't accept all types of insurance, so check ahead. They don't accept Medicaid, but they do accept Care Credit. Was a good experience.

We love Dr. Schneider!! My kids have been patients of his since they were born. His expertise is immediately recognized. Dr. Schneider is kind and caring, he has the perfect approach and temperament for dealing effectively with children. Knowledgeable and professional, there is no one I would trust more with my children's dental health.
