Dr. Howard wanted a practice where everyone could receive quality dental care. After serving as a dentist in the United States Air Force from 1968-1970, he decided to open his own practice. He especially worked well with those who were leery of the dentist. The phrase Howards Cowards was born, and we still use We Cater to Cowards as our motto today.
Dr. Kris Nicholas has been practicing Dentistry since 1994. He is a 1985 Graduate of St. Francis DeSales High School. After completing his Undergraduate studies at the University of Toledo, he attended the Ohio State University where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. Upon graduation in 1994 Dr. Nicholas returned to his hometown of Toledo to join Dr. Howards practice.
In 2002, Dr. Nicholas married his wife Cherryl, a Dental Hygienist. They have four children: Lucilee, Eddie, Evangeline and Gus. Dr. Nicholas enjoys the outdoors, music, playing the saxophone and the mandolin, and creating stained glass. The Nicholas family resides in Temperance, Michigan. Dr. Nicholas believes that Dentistry is a calling that allows him to meet and serve people of diverse backgrounds. He enjoys every aspect of his work from the three year old at their first dental visit to life changing improvements in a persons smile. He combines humor and a kind heart while treating his patients. For Dr. Nicholas, Dentistry is not just a profession, but also a passion.
Dr. James Baburek has been practicing Dentistry in Toledo since 2003. Dr. Baburek is a Graduate of Riverside High School in Painesville Township, Ohio. After High School, Dr. Baburek attended the Ohio State University, where he completed both his Undergraduate and Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude and ranking 4th in his Dental class. He was inducted in the National Honorary Fraternity, Omicron Kappa Upsilon and is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Baburek joined Dr. Howard and Dr. Nicholas practice in 2003.
In 2001, Dr. Baburek married his wife, Amy, a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and native of Toledo. They have two children Alyssa and Alex. Dr. Baburek is an avid sports fan and enjoys working with electronics of all kinds. The Baburek family lives in Monclova, Ohio. Dr. Baburek believes that Dentistry is a profession that can provide life-altering changes. He enjoys all aspects of the field, and finds a deep satisfaction from watching his patients leave his chair with a brand new smile. For Dr. Baburek providing the highest quality of Dentistry to all of his patients is his strongest objective.
We also have an alternative source of water available to our office in the event of any type of emergency or water concern. This optional, closed-water system in our office is independent of local city water.

Best Dentists in the city. I've been coming here for about eight years now, and I've always had phenomenal experiences. The staff is so patient, warm welcoming & friendly. They are really good with kids and adults. I would 100% recommend!

Thank you to Dr. Nicholas and the amazing staff for going above and beyond to put a super rush on getting my whitening impressions ready. Back in May, with a special event only a few weeks away, I inquired about the whitening special. The team worked together and expedited all efforts to make it possible. The event was last night and my smile was brighter than is has been in years! I cannot thank you all enough!!!

I have been going here for many years now. The staff is always amazing and accomidating. Dr. Baburek even came in special for an emergency for my wife. Highly recommend them if you are looking for a new provider!

If I could give more than five stars, I would. Before finding this office I was petrified of the dentist. I'm not talking about a little bit of fear, I would dread my appointment for days and often cancel my appointments in a panic. I have yet to meet a member of the staff here who has not been patient and kind towards me. They remember my name when I walk in and have gone above and beyond to be supportive when we had a loss in the family. These people care about you, your comfort and of course your teeth. Pricing has been reasonable, office is always clean, staff are generous. I will be recommending this office to anyone who will listen and can't imagine going anywhere else now. Thank you to Dr.Nicholas today especially for talking with me about chickens to bring me comfort before tending to my cavities. You guys are the best and I'm so grateful you are doing what you do for our community!!

I recently had a change of insurance and needed to find a new dentist when an old filling fell out unexpectedly. They were able to get me in the office in less than 24 hours and fixed the problem! Everyone was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful ! I am so happy to be a new patient here !

We just recently left great Lakes family dental and started going to Dr. Babureks. Our experience has needless to say been the absolute best! Our family of 6 all sees them. The staff is great very kind, everyone works together greatly! The staff is continuously popping in seeing if anything is needed or if they could help in anyway. The environment is just great! The care is great! The patients with children FANTASTIC!

5 starts again, this place is customer obsessed :) I had a difficult treatment but they went above and beyond until I felt completely satisfied. Truly one of the best services I ever had. From the front door, until the dentist you feel welcome. They are very organized and proactive.

I'm not the type of person that post reviews but this place deserves 5 and more starts. I'm from a different country and I have never felt so comfortable in a dentist office. Dr Baburek and his staff goes above and beyond. They always treat you so nicely and give you options in case things go wrong. I felt they have passion of what they do. I will totally recommend this place to anyone that needs a new dentist.
