Dr. Howard Liu graduated from the University of Utah with a BSc in Medical Biology. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University in New York City. Following the completion of dental school, he furthered his studies in dentistry with a general practice residency at the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston.
Dr. Liu practiced general dentistry in north Texas and the California Bay Area for six years before returning to school for advanced endodontics education. After spending two more years studying full time at the University of Southern California, Dr. Liu returned back to the Bay Area to practice as an Endodontic specialist. He is a board certified, Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.

Dr. Liu is an excellent endodontist. He performed a retreatment of a root canal and the procedure was frankly easy (for me) without discomfort. Before the appointment I had readied myself for a major ordeal, but I was wrong. Dr. Liu's chair-side manner, relaxed and understanding, with constant communication on what is happening next, made it a great experience. Fast forward to today, a year later, and the retreatment was perfect and bone growth complete. Also important is the great staff. From the front desk to the tech assistants, they are professional and cheerful in a sincere way. The only thing you'll have to be concerned about is the parking situation. Curbside parking on Tennessee St. is limited, so get there early. It's a busy street, so look both ways if you have to cross it!
