A compassionate and gentle chair side manner is the hallmark of Dr. Helen Jafari's Family and Cosmetic Dental Practice. Dr. Jafari recognizes that each patient has unique needs, and it takes an individualized approach in order to meet them. While function, oral health, and comfort are the foundation for the standard of care she maintains, she believes that artistry plays an important role in achieving desired results. Her years of experience, aesthetic eye, and attention to detail are what give her the unique ability to accomplish this goal.
With the philosophy that a patients smile and oral health have great impact on quality of life, Dr. Jafaris approach is one of collaboration with her patients, and she listens to make sure that the goals set will achieve the patients own vision. The relaxing environment of the office encourages open communication so that every individuals questions are addressed thoroughly. Her associates, staff members, and lab partners are carefully selected and coached to embrace her philosophy of care for patients and uncompromising standards of quality.
Dr. Jafari's dedication to creating beautiful, functional, and healthy smiles has earned her a remarkable reputation. She regularly attends continuing education courses and strives to stay up to date and bring the very best of modern materials, technology and skills to her patients. Her most recent research has been regarding Sleep Apnea, and the unique ways that the dental field is positioned to help people with this condition. She completed her dental education in 1991 and continued for an additional two years residency in advanced education general dentistry at The University of Rochester in New York and Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Saleem Baba is a Native Houstonian who graduated from the University of Houston in 2009, and from UT Dental school in Houston in 2013. He is the recipient of the Senior Leadership Award by the 9th District Dental Society for Ethics and Integrity. Dr. Baba is active in many study clubs, specifically for laser dentistry, Invisalign, and implant dentistry.
As a local Houstonian, Dr. Paulette Arana finds joy in serving the patients in her community. She enjoys coming to work every day, building great relationships with her patients, helping create beautiful smiles, and promoting good oral health. Dedicated to a patients comfort and convenience, Dr. Arana and her staff have ongoing training and continuing education in order to provide up-to-date technology and techniques.
Brianne is an Austin transplant and is proud to call Houston her home. With abackground in hotel management, she joined the team at Houstonian Dental in 2008and is devoted to hospitality in the dental office. She graduated from the University of Houston Downtown with a degree in English. In her free time she enjoys cooking, surfing, reading, and road trips to Austin with her husband.
Erika joined Houstonian Dental in January of 2020, along with Dr. Arana and her wonderful patients. She has worked alongside Dr. Arana in overseeing their care for the past seventeen years, both as office manager and as a Registered Dental Assistant. She learned her trade in the US Navy where she served 1987 - 1992. Her experience and knowledge in the Dental Field, as well as her patient-first philosophy, has made her a valuable asset to the Houstonian Dental Team.
Erika resides in Houston with her husband Dan, who she met in the Navy. They just celebrated their 30th anniversary. They have one son, Dante, who is twenty-eight. In her free time she enjoys long walks on the beach, working on her taxidermy collection, and putting on mime shows with her husband Dan.
With over twenty-nine year's experience in the field of dentistry, Gaston has worked both as a Registered Dental Assistant and Treatment Coordinator, specializing in Prosthodontics and general and cosmetic dentistry. His experience ranges from routine care to dramatic, life-changing cases and has given him an enthusiasm for goal-oriented planning that puts the patient's individual needs first.
Taylor received her Associates in Applied Science with a Major in Dental Hygiene from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, TX. She was raised in Katy, Texas and has lived in the Houston area her whole life.
Taylor enjoys educating patients about maintaining proper oral health. Her goal is to provide optimal, gentle dental care, and to treat patients with kindness and respect. This philosophy allows her to focus on the needs of each individual patient and build long-term relationships.

I've been going to Houstonian Dental SW for about 5 years and I can say that the quality of care for their customers has been consistently good every year. All the staff and dentist have the best interest of their customers!

I have been using Houstonian Dental SW regularly over the past several years. The service that they provide has always been the best. I am always pleasantly greeted upon arrival and the wait time has never exceeded 15 minutes. Procedures are done carefully with my comfort in mind. From what I can ascertain they seem to have the latest technology/equipment at their disposal. Any work to be done is throughly discussed and you will know your share of the cost beforehand. I highly recommend this dental practice.

I have been going to this dentist for yrs. Also recommended it to a friend from church. However the last 2 times I was there I was very disappointed with the scheduling. My appt was at 9am. I was waiting in the parking lot & the assistant didn't arrive till 9 to open up. There was also another lady waiting whose appt was 9am also. She was attended to first & I sat in the consulting room till 10am before I was seen. This also happened the week before when I took my friend. We had to wait over 1hr before being seen. I feel the assistant opening the establishment should be there 15-30mins before the first appt. & 2 patients should not be scheduled at the same time if there's only one dentist on duty. The dentist however is very good.

The Houstonian dental is working on teeth best ever, They value highly the patients and the doctors re very well expatriate. They do treatment carefully and I m totally agree , my kids doesn't have any problem of their teeth . Thank you Houstonian dental South West!!!

The staff here is so nice. The dentist is knowledgeable and informative. But more importantly, atleast to me, it's clean! I had to bring my baby and I was not freaking out that he was touching the table or the chairs. They were really nice about me having to bring my child as well. They had cartoons already pulled up, and didn't even seem to mind when he got a little fussy during my cleaning. Obviously if I don't have to I don't take my child to my appointments, but it's nice to not feel judged or unwanted if I can't find someone to watch him. Also, I called Monday and had an appointment the very next day. Very happy about that.

This is a great dental office. The entire staff was very courteous, knowledgable, and helpful. Dr. Moreno is always very skilled in her work, and Nada is always incredibly helpful and proficient as well.

I absolutely hate going to the dentist and avoid it at all costs. Every dentist I've ever been to ignores me when I tell them there's too much pain. I've never come away feeling like I would ever go back or refer them to anyone that I know.......UNTIL NOW! Dr. Moreno was the most kind and thorough dentist I've ever met. I had to get a deep clean and I'm quite a challenge as a patient... not because of my personality but it was just a pretty tough job they were looking at lol. Everyone there is so professional, patient and compassionate. These folks have made me want to actually make my regular visits because I don't dread going to the dentist anymore. I am so impressed with the customer service here. Every visit has been wonderful and I leave happy everytime. Even just talking over the phone to set an appointment or a follow up has been great with Vanessa or Paul. Dr. Nguyen, Nada, Vanessa are amazing! I went for my first visit a week ago and got a very thorough exam. I hadn't been to a dentist in quite a few yrs so they recommended a deep cleaning and I had two cavities that needed to be filled. I dreaded the though of being injected but sucked it up. Idk how Dr Nguyen did it but she made those injections feel like nothing. Literally. I'm usually so afraid of needles but it was relatively pain free. Her and Nada make a great team. They are hilarious and reassuring. Great energy. Maybe that's why I was so comfortable and relaxed as they got to work on my teeth. I highly recommend visiting this office. It's sterile, friendly staff, transparent about billing and pricing. If you have questions they will take the time to explain BEFORE and after services so you understand the costs and can decide for yourself what you need to do. Definitely will be back for all future appointments.

I was afraid of going to the dentist all my life, but these young ladies definitely changed the way I see dentist... they were caring, quick, and most definitely the most funniest fun people in all of houston... I really appreciate their services, and will be looking forward to future visits.... thanks guys, even tho a thank you is not nearly enough.
