Hounshell Family Dentistry is proud to serve Shelby, NC, Cleveland county and surrounding areas. We are dedicated to providing the highest level of dental health care along with friendly, compassionate service.
Dr. Brandon graduated from Shelby High School in 2005. He finished his undergraduate at Appalachian State University in 2009 where he was on the Deans list and was the president of the ASU Dental Club. He graduated from the UNC School of Dentistry in May of 2013 and started working with his father, Paul Hounshell who had been practicing densitry since 1982. In August of 2015 he transitioned to owning and managing Hounshell Family Dentistry. He and his wife, Ashley, have one son and daughter, Jack and Sadie, and a chocolate lab, Bella.
During his 4 years at UNC, Dr. Brandon volunteered hundreds of hours to help the less fortunate at the Missions of Mercy Dental clinics held around the State of NC and he volunteered a month of his time at the Good Samaritans Health Clinic, a non-profit organization in Atlanta Georgia. He also is an active member of Hope Community Church and Board member of Hands on Missions in Shelby.

Tammy started her career in dentistry after graduating from CPCC in 1988 with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been a part of our practice since September of 1989. God has richly blessed her through her family of patients as she has formed many lasting friendships. Since September of 2008, she has retired from hygiene and now enjoys her duties as Office Administrator. Tammy is married and has one daughter, a son and two wonderful grandchildren.
Kelly began her career at Hounshell Family Dentistry in 2015. She is x ray certified and has served as a Hygiene coordinator and dental assistant. She has been in the medical field most of her career. She resides in Shelby and has one daughter.
Hope has been a dental assistant at Hounshell Family Dentisrty since 2005. She graduated from Burns High School and received her assisting certificate from Penn Foster School in Pennsylvania. She is married to her best friend and enjoys the many friendships made throughout the years here at HFD.
Hana became a dental assistant in 2005 after spending her childhood in Papua New Guinea with her missionary parents. Hana loves dental assisting and the patients that she has the privilege of talking with everyday. She is married to Jonathan Souza and they have a miracle baby named Joseph. They are active members at Emmanuel Baptist Church and love serving to spread the love of Jesus.
Missy started her career as a dental hygienist in 2005 with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Central Piedmont Community College. She has been a part of the Hounshell Family Dentistry team since 2010. She is a 1994 graduate of Crest High School and lives near Shelby with her husband and children. Missy loves camping and family time!
Joy joined our team in 2013. She began her dental career in 1985 after graduating from CPCC with an associates degree in Dental Hygiene. Joy resides in Kings Mountain with her husband and three children. She enjoys exercising, watching sports, and spending time with her family.

I know I have never said this about going to the Dentist in the past. However, Dr. Hounshell and his staff Hope & Hannah to name a few were absolutely incredible. Best experience I have ever had.

Have been going to Hounshell for years now. They are the best at what they do! Always kind and knowledgeable. My son has grown up going here and as a child he had to have fillings. He never even knew he had a shot. They treat you like family! Couldn't ask for a better dentist!

My first visit was today. Great experience, Joy, my hygienist, was great She was thorough yet gentle, and very considerate about my comfort. Dr Brandon was the same, listened to me and asked appropriate questions. I'm happy to have found them!

After an absolute painful disaster experience with a previous dentist I swore I would never see another one. Went to see Dr. Brandon today. I cannot say enough good things about the staff, along with Dr. Brandon. 10/10 recommended.

They did great with my son! Every employee was patient with him. They showed him all of the tools and did everything they could to help him have a comfortable experience. Edited to add that I am now a new patient here myself and they also did a great job with me and I have severe White Coat Phobia.

I had the best experience with Hounshell Family Dentistry. Dr B is the best. I had a crown done today. I have major anxiety when I go to the dentist, but he took it right away from me. He prayed over me. And I felt so at ease. He was so gentle, no pain with the injection. The crown looks awesome. If you are looking for a new dentist, please see them.

Love Dr Hounshell's office. Dr. Hounshell is kind and very good as a dentist. His staff is full of friendly happy workers who are wonderfully professional. Pleased with the Covid precautions in place.

Best staff and service since Spangler! The office itself is so warm and welcoming (perfectly spotless). Everyone there is super sweet. They do a wonderful job! I lost a tooth when I was in 5th grade(14years ago) and the fake one was starting to show its age. They did such an amazing job I could have cried. They gave me my smile back. Do not hesitate to try this dentist I doubt you'll find a better one in shelby.

The staff at Hounshell Family Dentistry are always genuinely warm and welcoming. Dr. Brandon is a very capable and friendly dentist, and quite honest. My husband, my kids and I all see Dr. Brandon and have never had a bad experience with any of the staff. Every single hygienist and assistant is exceptionally capable, pleasant, and upbeat. I have had extensive dental work done with Hounshell Family Dentistry, and it has been so healing to work with a dentist who is invested in my health and willing to work at a pace I'm comfortable with. Additionally, cost of dental work is always discussed freely and without judgment. With Dr. Brandon and the staff at Hounshell Family Dentistry, I really feel like a person rather than a number, a story, a paycheck, or a problem. I recommend Dr. Brandon's office and staff wholeheartedly for patients of all ages.
