Hi there! Im Dr. Hosaka (Its pronounced like Osaka, the city in Japan, but with an H. Or, if its easier, you can call me by my first name Ryo, which is pronounced like the city Rio in Brazil.) I look forward to taking care of you at my dental office.
I grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida, and attended Duke University for undergrad. I am a 2012 graduate of Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine in South Florida,where I graduated at the top of my class. I also completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Washington hospital in Seattle, WA.
I enjoy practicing in my small family dental practice because I have the opportunity to meet and care for patients and their family in the Smyrna and surrounding communities. I feel proud of being able to contribute to the health and wellbeing of my patients.
In my free time, I like to cook, work on home improvement projects, and lounge around my house with my three cats. Currently though, most of my time at home is dedicated to my wife and newborn daughter.
My favorite thing about dentistry is helping people feel better about their smiles and encouraging patients to feel more at ease about coming to the dentist (at least thats my goal!). The best thing about our practice is the small, family-oriented feel of the office and our wonderful patients!
I love that there is always something new to learn in dentistry. The fact that the mouth is more than just a mouth full of teeth amazes me. Everyone is so unique in their own way; we all have our own unique smiles.
The best thing about our practice is that everyone, including the patients, are like a big family. Everyone gets treated in an extremely friendly way. Its such an amazing environment to be able to experience each and every day.
My favorite part of dentistry is helping people feel more confident in themselves and making them feel comfortable while they are in the office. I love my dental office because of the small, family-like environment that I get to share with my co-workers and our awesome patients.

This is a great, family dental practice. I love that it's small and the staff knows your name. I truly appreciate the level of care I receive at every visit, and feel my teeth are in good hands with Dr. Hosaka and his excellent hygienists. Highly recommended!

I would highly recommend Dr Hosaka; very thorough, explains exactly what he is working on through the entire process & put me at ease as he was working on my temporary crown. The staff is super accommodating & professional. If you are looking for a terrific Dentist you won't be disappointed, 100% will be using them as my primary dental provider moving forward. John

Dr.Hosaka and his "entire" team are Very Kind,Professional and Patient! They really care about there patients. I recently moved to Dr Hosaka from another dentist. I have been very impressed with Dr Hosaka and his staff. They are caring, kind and competent. I would recommend this office to anyone who is looking for a dentist.

Fantastic, would recommend to everyone! I hate the dentist but had to go in for a cleaning. Dr Hosaka and the team did a great job. I stayed longer than expected, originally asking about Invisalign but got hooked up with bonding!

I needed to see a dentist urgently as part of my tooth had come off. Dr Hosaka was able to see me on that same day. It was my first time meeting him. He is courteous, informative and professional.

It's a profoundly adult and often incredibly difficult task to find a new dentist, let alone one that you genuinely like. Admittedly I really loved my old dentist, but when they stopped taking my insurance I didn't want to pay out of pocket every time I went in; and thus my journey began. I used my insurance's portal to triangulate a few dental practices near where I live, and I called the few that had passably good reviews (on a Friday, no less!). When Ana from Dr. Hosaka's office called me back first thing the following Monday, I knew that this place was gonna be awesome! In case you're wondering: I'm STILL waiting for the other practices to call me back! So, to my visit: The space is both quaint and modern, lacking any whiff of sterility you often get from dentist offices. I didn't have to wait long to be seen, but the time I did spend in the waiting room was very pleasant I was seen by Kathy for my visit, who was both incredibly welcoming and super knowledgeable. You could tell she'd done this a million times before and it showed in the speed and precision of her work -- all without breaking her congenial conversation. Finally, after my cleaning Dr. Hosaka came in to close out the appointment. He was affable but straightforward, and kept the wrap-up short and sweet. All in all, I'm beyond relieved to have found my new dentist! Truly couldn't recommend the Hosaka Family Dental team enough!
