Dr. Kenisha Grant is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in chemistryfrom Norfolk State University and her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Grant served the socioeconomically challenged community for three years before forming Horizon Family Dentistry in 2008.
Dr. Brandy Joyner was born and raised in Elizabeth City, NC. She began practicing in 2005 after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistryfrom North Carolina State University and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to forming Horizon Family Dentistry in 2008, Dr. Joyner also treated the underserved for three years.
Raquel moved from New Jersey in 2008 and has been in the dental field for 12 years. She is most likely the first voice you will hear when you call the office. Raquel is fluent in Spanish. Raquel states, I take great pleasure in developing long lasting relationships with all the patients of Horizon Family Dentistry. I really enjoy being a part of this wonderful team.
Melissa provides administrative support to Horizon Family Dentistry. She is a native of North Carolina and is also a United States Army Veteran. Melissa received a BBA with a specialization in management from Cameron University. She has a strong focus on assisting her local communities and developed a strong sense of devotion for the nonprofit sector.
Ikea Walton is a native of Wake Forest, North Carolina. She attended Sunrise School of Dental Assisting. Ikea has been a dental assistant at Horizon Family Dentistry since September 2008. She enjoys working directly with patients and using her dental assisting skills. Ikea states, I look forward in meeting each and every patient. I take great pleasure in helping our patients at Horizon Family Dentistry achieve their dream of having a gorgeous and healthy smile.
Jen Harlowis a native of NC. She graduated from Wayne Community College and has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 1993, She has returned to Horizon Family Dentistry in 2020 and was with us prior for over nine years. Jen states 'I'm so happy and blessed to be back. I have missed my work family and my patients that are more like friends'. My compassion for patient care is my biggest priority.

Great place to get your teeth cleaned at! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I've never had an issue at Horizon. Just had my teeth done today actually and what I really appreciated was getting tips on how to better maintain my teeth. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a dentist or transitioning away from someone else. Horizon is the place to go!

I have complete confidence and trust in these folks. I am very impressed with their knowledge, techniques, equipment and thoroughness both in explaining in detail the state of my teeth and taking care of me. I have never experienced such a delicate and unintrusive touch with any other office. Just enough southern charm to be politely efficient begins at the front desk and continues through the appointment Thank you!.
