Horizon Family Dental Group - General dentist in Panorama City, CA

Dr. Hector Z. Landig was born and raised in the beautiful islands of thePhilippines. He grew up in Quezon City, then moved to Manila to attend Centro Escolar UniversitySchool of Dentistry where he met his wife - Dr. Yolanda Landig (affectionately called 'Dr. Yolly'). The newlyweds immigrated to California in 1984 andimmediatelygave birth to their first living child, Hector Landig Jr. Two years later, Dr. Myoli was born. Dr. Hector came to the states and worked many odd jobs to keep food on the table, a roof over his growing family 's head, and clothes on their backs. Eventually, he was able to save enough money to begin taking the California Dental Board Exams - bear in mind there were four parts, each with a high price tag. After a few years, Dr. Landig successfully passed all necessary exams and was granted a California Dental License!

He immediately began work as a Dentist in Rosemead. He also worked in Garden Grove, Inglewood, and Los Angeles city proper near historic Filipino town. Dr. Landig worked 9am - 6pm, six days a week to support his family. His work ethic is incredible! In December 1989, he went into partnership with a colleague to purchase the Los Angeles office. After only a few short years, he was able to buy out his partner and the office was his - and Dr. Yolly's, of course.

Being the workaholic that Dr. Landig is, he was always looking for more opportunities. In May 1995, he opened his second office from scratch: our Diamond Bar clinic. This time around, he was able to build an office to his liking from the bottom up. At first business was slow, but that pushed him to think outside of the box and seek greater opportunities. Dr. Landig volunteered at his children's school, advertised in the local churches, sponsored community sports programs, and much much more. Being a responsible member of his community is something Dr. Landig takes pride in.

Fast forward to June 2015: his youngest child, the only daughter (finally) graduates from UOP School of Dentistry and returns to the family business. Dr. Landig has now been practicing dentistry for nearly 30 years, but retirement is nowhere in sight. He is enjoying teaching his daughter, learning the new technologies, and seeing his patients. He has been serving the City of Diamond Bar for over 20 years and considers his patients an extended part of his family. Current patients are always asking him if he is going to retire now that his daughter is working as a dentist, but his reply is always the same: No. What else could I be doing if I wasn't here to see my patients?

Dr. Yolanda Herrero-Landig, more affectionately called 'Dr. Yolly', was born and raised in the beautiful islands of the Philippines. She is one of seven kids, born to a poverty stricken family in Calamba Laguna. From an early age, Dr. Yolly knew that education would be her only way out of poverty so she buried her head in the books. She wasn 't a social butterfly - that would only inhibit her from acheiving her goals. Dr. Yolly attended local public schools throughout her youth, and eventually moved to Manila to attend Centro Escolar University (CEU) School of Dentistry. Dr. Yolly was able to attend CEU due to a Colgate scholarship (side note: she was theonlyfemale to earn this particular scholarship) and generous extended family members. It wasn 't until her last year in school that she met Dr. Landig. If you want to hear their love story, you 'll have to come in the office and ask them personally! It 's a good one.

Fast forward to February 2000. Dr. Yolly has her eldest at La Salle High School in Pasadena, her youngest nearing graduation at Holy Name of Mary in San Dimas, and she opens her very own dental practice in Panorama City. Talk about Dr. Mom! Dr. Yolly prides herself on serving her kababayan, which roughly translates to her Filipino population. Panorama City has a dense Filipino, or kababayan, population. Although Dr. Ces and Dr. Yolly mainly work out of the Panorama City clinic, Dr. Landig is available on Tuesdays and Dr. Myoli hopes to split her time between Diamond Bar and Panorama City in the near future.

The youngest Dr. Landig in the practice is more affectionately known as Dr. Myoli. As the daughter to Dr. Landig and Dr. Yolly, Dr. Myoli has grown up in the Los Angeles, Diamond Bar and Panorama City dental offices. She attended University of California Riverside, earning her B.S. in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Medical Biology. She went on to earn a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Health Professions from University of California Berkeley Extension. In 2015, Dr. Myoli earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. She is also an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Society (CDA), and Tri-County Dental Society.

As a Filipino-American dental professional, Dr. Myoli's core value is to provide comprehensive oral health care at an affordable cost to our patients. She prides herself on delivering quality dental services routed in evidence-based dentistry. She hopes to limit the cycle of drill and fill dentistry by focusing on preventative dentistry and properly educating our patients on the complex disease processes that can occur within the oral cavity. She is passionate about serving the underserved population within the local community, and our community at large. On her first dental mission, she naturally went home to the Motherland - the Philippines. Alongside an incredible team, they served the communities of Malolos, Bulacan and Boracay. Dr. Myoli feels connected to the Philippine population and is eager to return for the next dental mission!
