Our brand new, modern office offers the most up-to-date technology and equipment that allow us to deliver the highest level of service to our young patients and their families. Our focus is on oral health education and preventative care to keep your kids smiles healthy and strong. We know that a childs first dental experiences can shape a lifetime of oral health, and we are committed to helping your little one feel secure and happy at our office. We truly believe in treating our patients as members of our own family, with love and compassion.
Dr. Zaeni grew up in Clayton and earned her bachelors degree from UC Berkeley in Molecular and Cell Biology. At Cal she spent summers working with kids as a science teacher and camp counselor. Quickly she discovered both an affinity for healthcare sciences, and a love for working with children. In 2003, Dr. Zaeni completed a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors at UOP School of Dentistry. She graduated knowing she wanted to blend her two passions. For over 15 years she has dedicated her career to serving the dental needs of children throughout Northern California.
In her free time, Dr. Zaeni enjoys time outdoors, cycling, skiing and hiking with friends and family. She lives in the East Bay with her husband Tim, an Engineer and Navy Veteran, their toddler daughter Eve, and their Great Dane, Brutus. She looks forward to welcoming you to the Hopscotch Childrens Dentistry family.
Dr. Zaeni is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the Contra Costa Dental Society.
After graduating, she went on to complete the two-year dental anesthesiology residency program at Loma Linda University. Dr. Boloorchi loves working with children and getting know their families. She is a strong supporter of preventative dentistry and her mission is to create a safe and comfortable experience for her patients.
Dr. Boloorchi is a proud member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Contra Costa Dental Society, and a is a fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. She is a continuing dental education provider for the California Dental Board and holds certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
Dr Reshma Jawale, 'Dr. J', grew up in India and knew early on that she wanted to pursue dentistry. She earned her Bachelors of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) there and then moved to Australia in 1993. In Australia she joined the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne and became an honorary faculty member. She very much enjoyed teaching dentistry and working with the underprivileged in the community.
Dr Jawale then moved to California with her husband and two kids in 2006. Since then she has been practicing pediatric dentistry in the East Bay. Dr Jawale loves working with children and is passionate about providing high quality dental care with patience and kindness.
Dr. Lam recently returned to California after living all across North America. Dr. Lam earned his dental degree from Roseman University of Health Sciences in South Jordan, Utah in 2015. He then traveled all the way to the frozen landscape of Bangor, Maine to complete a rigorous General Practice Residency (GPR) at Penobscot Community Health Center. Upon completion of his GPR program, Dr. Lam had extensive experience working with children and patients with special needs.
He has had the opportunity to work in underprivileged communities, and in mobile clinics to help reach underserved populations and culminated in being promoted to a supervising dentist in a pediatric office in Lancaster, CA. He revels in the opportunity to introduce children to dentistry by striving to make their experience fun, welcoming and friendly. He always aims to make the experience as positive as possible. To Dr. Lam, there is nothing more rewarding than developing a lasting relationship with his patients, based on gentle and compassionate care. During each and every visit, Dr. Lam takes time to interact with each child.
While not working, Dr. Lam loves spending time with his family and friends. He is an avid snowboarder having logged more than 100 days during one of his seasons. During his stay in Maine, he completed his first running event ever in the Mount Desert Island Marathon. He also enjoys hiking, photography, traveling, and reading books whenever possible.
Dr. Feleshia Apps is a San Francisco native who dreamed of being a dentist since 8 years old. She completed dental school at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville Tennessee and her GPR/Pediatric dentistry residency at Harlem Hospital Center in NYC. Now she is back in the Bay Area doing what she loves. Becoming a dentist was one of many dreams to come true. When shes not counting kiddie teeth, she loves to travel, work out, and attend every street festival possible. Her favorite colors are purple and pink. Favorite movie is Rio.
Laura was born and raised in the east bay and theres nothing she enjoys more than working with local children and families. She especially loves when kids show her the teeth theyve lost and share how brave they were at the dentist. Laura has extensive experience working in both the pediatric dentistry field and in elementary education. She is a proud wife and mother of two beautiful, happy, and amazing kids. She and her family enjoy fishing, sightseeing, museums, and road trips.
I've always loved working with kids because I learn so much from them. I try to take a personal interest in each child I see, remember things we talked about and helping them feel special. In my free time I enjoy camping, watching my son play soccer and my daughter playing softball.
Michelle was born and raised in the Bay Area. She has worked in pediatric dentistry for 13 years. She enjoys educating children and their families on oral health. In her free time she loves spending time with her daughter, traveling, boating, going to the beach, cooking and trying new foods. She is also an avid crafter and enjoys being creative.
Lita is an East Bay native who has worked in the dental field for over 20 years. She started out as a dental assistant and transitioned later to the front desk as a treatment coordinator. Lita is married with three beautiful children and loves to travel. She looks forward to welcoming you to Hopscotch Children's Dentistry.

I recently changed my childs dentist in Antioch! I was unhappy with the lack of interaction the staff had with my child for her visits and also we were in and out within 10 mins without any feedback or info on how to improve her cleaning! I decided to try Hopscotch Dentistry and I'm soooo pleased with the bisit and staff! Sooo much interaction and my kiddo was so happy leaving there! Dr. Z was super sweet! This will definitely be our new dentist! So much feedback on how to improver her brushing! Thank you to all the staff!

My son is on the Autism Spectrum and has lots of sensory sensitivities. I called a couple weeks before the visit, explained my concerns and Laura the office manager didn't skip a beat, when we arrived everyone knew his name, likes-dislikes, fears of being in the office, etc... Everyone gave him his space and checked in with him every step of the appointment .At first he wouldn't enter the building after some time, he let Leti take x-rays and dr Zaeni count his teeth. It was the best experience of Northern California we've had in 4 years!!! We are grateful beyond measure for this dr and staff. Thank you, thank you!!! Highly recommend this place.

Just the best place where you can take your baby for the first dentist check up. I have a 7 month old baby boy and as soon as we enter the building he was very happy for all the colors and games around. Dr. Zaeni and all her assistants make you feel so welcome and comfortable. I totally recommend it.

Thanks to this place our daughter had very pleasant first experience treating her teeth! The staff is very friendly, nurses and Dr. Zaeni will treat your child like their own. Highly recommend Hopscotch Dentistry! If you wonder they also take patients with Medi Cal dental insurance, and the doctor will check in with you after the appointment to make sure your child is feeling okay.

I was able to bring in my daughter for an emergency appointment the same day, being a new customer the appointment process was quick and easy. Ended up my daughter had bacteria on her gums do to the adult teeth popping and need the tooth to be extracted. I Can't believe how easy the process was for my 6 year old daughter. Definitely recommend this Office.

As a mom I wanted to make sure that my son has a great experience with the dentist. Knowing that he will have more work done later, the procedure needed to be done with care and professionalism. I want to make sure that he was in good hands and I also felt at ease. Dr. Zeani and her awesome team made us feel comfortable and exceeded beyond our expectations. I highly recommend this family friendly practice for all your dental care.

I would like to start off by saying Dr. Zaeni is great and experienced dentist! super kind, sweet and caring with her patients. She assessed my baby and found she had oral ties. She was able to refer us to a specialist who deals with these oral conditions. I would highly recommend Dr. Zaeni and her office:)

I brought my nervous 4 year old to her first dental appointment at Hopscotch last week and from the moment we stepped in, we were surrounded by helpful, smiling faces! The doctor and assistants went above and beyond to provide great service even with a toddler who was NOT cooperating. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hopscotch to anyone who wants to out their children at ease at the dentist. These gals were just magical, thank you again!

If I could give less than a 1 star I totally would!!! Suuuch a disappointment, my first visit went great, everyone was kind so I scheduled for my 2 kids to have some teeth pulled but I regret going back. The doctor removing my kids teeth was so horrible my kids felt EVERYTHING and when I told her to wait she had an attitude about it, my daughter scream in so much pain at first I thought she was just scared but when my son had the same reaction I knew something wasn't right, the doctor had the nerve to look at my son and told him " what are you whining about I'm not touching you" when he moaned from the pain when I told her not to be talking to my son that way she got even more upset it's not my son's first rodeo hes had plenty of teeth pulled he never gave the other clinic any kind off issues when having teeth removed before of course they properly numbed him. I was told by one of the assistances the doctor was the owner of the practice! IT's a shame because the dental asistances were great and the male doctor that tended to my kids the fist time was really great. I wouldn't recommend this place at all, but if you do please spare your kids and schedule with the male doctor.

I highly recommend Hopscotch Dentistry to anyone looking for an amazing pediatric dental experience for their children. The beautiful new office with flat screen TVs on the ceiling is such a treat for my kids. They get to be distracted with their favorite cartoon as they get their dental work done! Dr. Zaeni and staff are so welcoming and friendly! My children enter and leave with a smile every time by God's leave. I am not a Clayton resident but I love the experience for my kids so much that I travel the distance for the 5 star service! Thank you Dr. Zaeni and staff for the amazing environment you've created for for your young patients!

We have had the BEST experience with Dr. Zaeni and her staff! We first heard about Dr. Zaeni through a friend and we are so happy with making the switch. We drive all the way down from Sacramento to see her because Dr. Zaeni and her staff are so welcoming, warm, respectful, kind, and informative. We've had several visits now between the four kids and every time has been a great experience. My kids actually ENJOY going to the dentist!
