Dr. Jennifer Morrissey-Patton grew up justnorth of New Orleans in Slidell, Louisiana. She has lived in many places, but now considers Alabama home. She is an honors graduate from Auburn University (1996) and UAB School of Dentistry (2000). Upon completing dental school, she associated with Dr. Charles Yates in his well-established practice in Hoover, Alabama, and in 2003, she purchased the practice. She loves dentistry and works hard to keep her staff and her patients happy and healthy.

In 2002, she married the love of her life, Heath Patton who is originally from the Birmingham area. In June 2004 their son, Gavin, was born and has brought so much joy into their lives. Dr. Morrissey-Patton loves spending time with her family. Her hobbies include SCUBA diving, traveling, watching football, and spending time at Smith Lake. She is an active member of Riverchase United Methodist Church and the American, Alabama, and Birmingham dental societies. She has taught at UAB School of Dentistry and volunteers her time for several organizations including Big Oak Ranch, Cahaba Valley Health Care, and the Birmingham and Alabama Dental Societies.

Dr. Jordin Barkley has called the city of Hoover home for most of her life and is excited to be able to join a practice in the community she has grown to love. After graduating from Hoover High School in 2003, Dr. Barkley studied at The University of Alabama where she earned a degree in Biology in 2007. She then returned to Birmingham to attend UAB School of Dentistry. As a recent 2011 graduate, Dr. Barkley joins Hoover Family Dentistry as an associate to begin her much anticipated dental career.

Dr. Barkley enjoyed being involved in the American Student Dental Association while in dental school and will continue her involvement in organizations such as the American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, The Alabama Dental Association and The Birmingham District Dental Society. Dr. Barkley is a member of Riverchase United Methodist Church and enjoys traveling to new places, trying out new recipes, and attending SEC sporting events!

I am a graduate of Oak Grove High School and Bessemer Technical School where I studied Dental Assisting. I worked for Dr. Joseph Baker as an assistant for four years. After his death, I took a job with Dr. Charles Yates in 1979. At the time, Dr. Yates only had a front desk position available. I took the job and have found my favorite position in dentistry.I now live in Helena, Alabama near my son, Gerrad, and my daughter-in-law, Meghan. They have blessed me with two precious babies. Eason was born in 2011 and Kinley was born in 2015.I spend most of my time cooking, reading or caring for my grandchildren. I also love traveling and spending time with my family.I have worked with Dr. Yates, Dr. Morrissey and Dr. Barkley for 40 plus years. I really do not see an end to my career and look forward to working at Hoover Family Dentistry for many years to come.

My name is Cindy O'Dell. I have been a Dental Hygienist here at Hoover Family Dentistry since June 2007. I graduated from UAB Dental Assisting School in 1977 and then graduated from UAB in Dental Hygiene in 1979. I worked at a local practice for 30 years prior to coming to Hoover Family Dentistry. My family moved to Hoover in 2002.I am married to David O'Dell and we have 3 children and 4 grandchildren all of whom live in the Birmingham area.

My favorite hobby is my family. I especially enjoy time with my grandchildren. I also love photography, scrapbooking, and reading. I enjoy working here at Hoover Family Dentistry because it is important to me to be confident in the quality of dentistry my patients receive, and we have such a great team here to provide that type of exceptional care. I want my patients to have a pleasant experience at every visit.

My name is Kim Richey and I am Dr. Morrissey's dental assistant. I have been in dentistry since 2000 and have been working at this office since 2002. I received my hygiene license in 2013 from the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program and I am now also a dental hygienist. We have all grown to be like family here at Hoover Family Dentistry. I enjoy working with the staff and patients here. I couldn't ask for a better place to work.

I liveI Concord area and was married in June 2017 to my best friend, Chris Willis. We enjoy spending time outdoors, camping, boating, fishing, and watching Alabama football. I love vacationing at the beach and spending time with friends and family.

My name is Jennifer Walker. I began my career in 2004 upon completing my certification in dental assisting at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After working in Florida, I moved back home to Gardendale, Alabama to start my family and lead a wonderful life and a career as a dental assistant. I am proud to say that I fall in love with my career more and more every day! What is better than making someone else smile? I am happily married and have two beautiful children, Riley and Jacob. I enjoy crafting and sports in my spare time.

My name is Christy and I am a dental hygienist at Hoover Family Dentistry. I have been a hygienist since 1995. My father was a dentist in Vestavia, and I started the first 15 years of my career with him until he retired. The thing that I like most about my job is helping people improve, understand, and be less afraid of their dental care. I grew up in Homewood and have lived in the Bluff Park area of Hoover since 1992. My favorite thing to do is spending time with my husband, two girls, and our golden retriever. I also love hanging out at Smith Lake with family and friends.

I am a graduate of McAdory High School and Bessemer Technical School where I studied dental assisting. I began working in dentistry in 1996 as both a dental assistant and in a front office position. In 2001, I left dentistry for awhile to be a stay at home mom while my children were young.

I have lived in Alabaster since 2007. I have a beautiful daughter, Hannah, and three sons: Donny, Harrison, and Dylan who are all very active in various sports and school activities. In my spare time, I enjoy watching my children perform in their many extracurricular activities.

At Hoover Family Dentistry, I am part of our front desk management team. It is great to work at a job that you look forward to going to each day. I really love my job and could not ask for better patients or teammates to work with!
