A native of Hood River, Dr. Curtis Haynie has been in dental practice here since 2003. Dr. Haynie received his dental education from the Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry. He started his career at the non-profit Creston Childrens Dental Clinic before starting up Hood River dental. He is passionate in advancing treatment options to better his patients and their experiences. He has been on the forefront of several material applications that are now the biggest used materials in crown technology, which allows you to have beautiful and long lasting crown in just hours! Material science and dental technology led Dr Haynie in advanced training in complex cases and aesthetics, TMJ problems (TMD), and sleep apnea/snoring. He now sees his greatest accomplishments happen daily by regaining a patients beautiful smile, helping them get a night of sleep (or partners!), or eliminating daily headaches/migraines from their daily life.

Dr Haynie is grateful for the opportunity to practice in his hometown and loves accessing all the activities it provides. His goal is to always live the moment in the Gorge with his family Julia, Aidan, and Ava.

Dr. Andy has been practicing dentistry since 2006 when he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina. After receiving the DENTSPLY Excellence in Prosthodontics Award, he completed post-doctoral training in implant dentistry and comprehensive full mouth reconstruction. Dr. Andys dedication to continuing education keeps him current with cutting-edge biological and technological advances. He enjoys regenerative surgeries, including: Gum Grafts, Implants, and Oral Surgeries. As a part of these procedures, he uses blood concentrates (the patients own native growth factors) to shorten healing time, decrease post-operative complications, and assist in regenerating vital bone and gums. He loves balancing the art of aesthetics with the science of dentistry to bring optimal oral health and beautiful smiles to every patient.

Dr. Andy proudly served in the US Navy as a Dental Officer for the 13th Dental Battalion located at Camp Pendleton, CA. In his spare time, he enjoys guiding rafts down local rivers and surfing the Oregon coast. Dr. Andy is passionately involved in humanitarian efforts throughout the United States, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Dominican Republic, and Africa.

Dr. William D. Payne grew up and lived most of his life in the Willamette Valley. He graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University Dental School in 1989. Over the last 25 plus years, Dr. Payne was the owner and operator of a successful dental practice in Salem, OR focusing on cosmetic and family dentistry. Dr. Paynes passion for continual learning led to training in full mouth reconstructions, Invisalign, esthetics, sleep apnea treatments, periodontal laser therapy (LANAP) and TMD solutions. He also spends time doing volunteer dentistry at the Creston Childrens Dental Clinic.

Looking for a lifestyle change, Dr. Payne sold his Salem practice in December 2015 and moved his wife, two college aged kids and a middle schooler to the Columbia River Gorge to be closer to the activities he and his family love. Kiteboarding, stand up paddle, skiing and hiking are just a few of the fun things that his family enjoys. Ask him about his families 50 pound tortoise Bowser!

Dr. Payne appreciates collaborating with the great doctors and team at Hood River Dental. He is happy to be providing his years of experience of quality, comfortable dental treatments to the community of Hood River.

Native to the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Gonzales grew up in Tigard. He spent his first year of college at the University of Oregon and graduated with his Bachelor of Science from Portland State University. He received his D.M.D. degree from Oregon Health & Science University in 2009. For Dr. Gonzales, dentistry is a way to help others. He finds his work rewarding for its ability to shape healthy, beautiful smiles, as well as its secondary result of improving a patients self-confidence.

Outside of his practice, for the past 10 years he has applied his skill set as a volunteer with Rotary Internationals annual dental service trip to Guatemala, where he provided dental care to local communities that otherwise lack access to oral healthcare. In 2016, he was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow Award for his many years of service to the people of Guatemala. Beyond dentistry, Dr. Gonzales enjoys exploring the great outdoors with his fiance Ali and their dog Maya by his side.

If listening were a specialty, thats what Dr Kivel would claim. Sure, he has expanded his dental practice through advanced training in Dental Implants, CAD/CAM technology, Invisalign and cosmetics. And yet listening for what is most important to the patient is his guiding treatment planning philosophy. Through thoughtful discussion that may cover a wide range of treatment options and budgets, Dr. K is confident that the right solution to a patients dental desires will be uncovered.

Dr. Kivel received his undergraduate degree from UC Davis, Dental degree from University of the Pacific, CAD/CAM Mentor status through CERECDoctors, implant training through British Columbias Pacific Implant Institute, the Dominican Republics Implant Seminars and Dental XPs online implant continuum, and cosmetic experience with Bill Dorfmans Extreme Makeover practice and UCLA/Beverly Hills renowned Brian LeSage. And a law degree from University of San Francisco.

Rebecca Flaiz is a general dentist currently working as the lead dentist at One Community Health in Hood River. She grew up in eastern Oregon and was excited to move back to her home state when she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University in 2011. She enjoys both the technical and human elements of dentistry and excels at creative problem solving. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, scuba diving, mushroom hunting, hiking, backpacking, snowboarding, camping, pottery and currently is very into tie dye. Rebecca is also Spanish/English bilingual.
