As a non-profit community health center, Honor Community Health is on a mission to make a lasting difference in the lives of our patients and their families regardless of their ability to pay. To attain this mission, we must fill the gap created by the cost of providing crucial services, and costs not covered by grants and insurance.
Honor Community Health is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) community health center with 16 sites throughout Oakland County, Michigan including six integrated primary care sites, one dental site, a mobile dental bus, four school-based health centers and four school-based empowerment zones.
As a federally qualified health center (FQHC), Honor Community Health provide access to primary, behavioral health, dental care, and other specialty services to the communities we serve regardless of insurance status, place of residence or ability to pay. FQHCs are governed by a consumer-majority, volunteer Board of Directors that are connected to the communities we serve.
At a time when finding reliable and affordable care can be a confusing and intimidating process, Honor Community Health is able to combine quality, patient-driven primary healthcare services with unmatched accessibility, flexibility and personal consideration.
Our community health centers offer an Integrated Primary Care approach a patient-centered method that combines medical, dental and behavioral health services to more fully address the spectrum of problems patients bring to primary care.
In spring of 2015, Honor Community Health was awarded a Healthcare for the Homeless (HCH) grant, allowing homeless individuals in Oakland County access to quality health care services from our highly trained clinicians. Honor Community Health is one of only a couple hundred HCH-funded providers in the United States.
Our HCH program is community-based, and provides comprehensive primary care, specialty care, mental health services, substance abuse treatment, dental care and other supportive services for the homeless.
If you are currently staying in an emergency shelter, on the street, camping out or even staying with a friend temporarily, you may be eligible for our services through the Healthcare for the Homeless program.
We chose Honor because we feel it embodies the way that we treat our patients, and how we want our patients to treat their own health. We hope to honor our patients health as we support them in being well, both mentally and physically.

Our team is deeply immersed in the Oakland Country neighborhoods in which we work, building relationships and strengthening communities, doing the hard work that needs to be done to make area residents healthier and happier.
We are deeply involved with our patients as a true counselor. Our team understands that, regardless of demographics or personal background, all patients want to feel safe, to feel heard, and to feel empowered.
And, our new name more accurately reflects that we have grown and changed. Oakland County is still our primary focus, but Honor Community Health provides more healthcare services and serves patients from more communities than it did when we were founded.
We chose the symbol of a tree because it represents the growth and strength we hope to see with all our patients. It also represents a sense of connection to all things family, community, and life itself. All our services such as primary care, dental care, mental health etc., are integrated and connected like the branches of the tree.

Dr Haynes is amazing been going there for a lot of years now hold my tooth out without even be realizing he pulled it out and is the nicest guy ever the front counter is really nice and all the dental hygienists are really nice great place

When they are fully staffed it runs well. A person with a terrible fear of dentists couldn't stop screaming and was treated kindly and with patience

Horrible experience. Absolutely absurd, the amount of time waiting is not good. I've been waiting for over an hour and still haven't gotten called. There is absolutely no excuse to not get call down in the first 20 minutes. There is never a time where I and others don't have to sit and wait for more than an hour. Horrible experience.

The office is clean but as far as customer service goes VERY POOR, they say to call when you arrive but it is extremely hard to get ahold of anyone and the mailbox is always full so you cannot leave a voicemail so as any other person would you go up to the door of course it's locked you have to wait for them and with it being winter expect to stand out there and freeze your tush until someone "notices" you, which did not happen for me the other day and two other patients who were elderly people that were sick of WAITING & cold and just had to walk away. Also they cancelled on my husband 3 times!, and when we called to set up a new appointment time they never bothered getting back to us, amongst other things I'm always a happy go person very patient I kept telling my husband give it time maybe they're just having a bad day or bad week but this was the last straw i will be looking for a new dentist

This office is the worse you can go to. The costumer service sucks and they forgot to give me a courtesy call to remind me for my appointment. And now i have to wait 3 more months to get my teeth checked

Disapointed today: called to schedule a cleaning. Said they don't have any appointments available until August, 2019! I would actually need another cleaning before the first one is even done. (Cleaning every 6 months).

Had a cavity that needed filling. My mouth was enormous. Joslyn smile center set me an appointment for 8:30a.m. I was running late so arrived around 8:35a.m. When I get to the door the first one is unlocked but the dentist door locked. I sat there for at least 20 minutes with the nurses just walking by, not even attempting to let me in. Maybe they didnt know I was a black man when I called the appointment, and was like, "dont open the door", when they seen the 8:30 appointment. Ended up just leaving & writing this review! "The hunt is on, & you are the prey", I am a middle aged black male.

I was there 10/16/2018 & Had the MOST POSITIVE experience ever at a dentists office. The office was inviting, the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The dental assistance assistant was extremely friendly and the dentist I saw easily put my nerves at ease. I've always had a had high anxiety because of poor dental office experiences, I however I'm looking forward to my next visit because of the positive experience I received yesterday
