Dr. Ha earned his bachelors and dental degrees from Creighton University, where he also completed a dental post-baccalaureate program. He has engaged in extensive postgraduate education, with specific training in dental implant placement and restoration, endodontics (root canal treatment), restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and sleep apnea treatment with oral appliances. In addition to certifications in CEREC one-visit crowns, Invisalign clear aligners, and the Inman Aligner, Dr. Ha has also received advanced bone grafting and complex implant restoration training. His commitment to education has allowed him to achieve Fellowship and Mastership awards in the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Dr. Ha is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Academy of Implant Dentistry and has lectured on the topics of CEREC, dental materials, and dental implant surgery. He is proud to mentor newly graduated dentists, and he has served as a dental volunteer for Project Homeless Omaha, One World Community Health Services, Give Kids a Smile, and We Serve Day. He has been featured in Dentaltown Magazine and Austin MD magazine and has been a guest on the Wellness Hour show. In his spare time, Dr. Ha enjoys spending time with his twin boys, Lucas and Liam, and running with his rescue dog Calvin.

Terri was born and raised in Hawaii. She has been a dental assistant for over 20 years, with a special concentration in orthodontic treatment. Her favorite thing about dentistry is seeing how happy the patients are with their new smiles. When Terri is not working, she enjoys going out to eat with her husband, Jeff, and their two teenagers, Chris and Rylan. She also enjoys playing tennis and walking her dog, Tucker. Her lifelong dream is to travel and attend musical concerts all around the world.
Shawn is from Eastern North Carolina but now feels blessed to call Hawaii home. She has been in dentistry for several years and loves being able to help people change their smiles in a positive way! On her days off, she enjoys going to the beach, hanging out with her friends, and spending time with her fur baby, Bo Bo.
Yodin received a doctorate in general dentistry in the Philippines. She has continued her passion for dentistry in Hawaii in hopes that one day she will receive her doctorate in the United States. When Yodin is not working, you can find her outdoors playing tennis or hiking with her puppy, Butter. She loves listening to BTS (her favorite K-pop band) and being a foodie with her boyfriend, Merrick.
Sina has been a dental assistant for over 15 years. She is from American Samoa but has lived on this beautiful island for years. Her greatest blessings in life are her two children, Trae and Tejah. She enjoys traveling and trying new cuisine.

From stepping into the office, it and the staff were very welcoming. Had an 11am appointment and there was no waiting. At 11, they were calling me in. Karen was very nice and professional taking pictures. During the exam, I suddenly felt very "out of sorts" and had to leave to get some air. Shawn came out to make sure I was OK and was very caring and we appreciated her kindness and understanding. Mahalo HSD!

We are a dental technology and continuing education provider for dental professionals on a global level. We have worked with over 15,000 dentists over the last 2 decades and intimately know the level of care Dr. Ha provides for his patients. He makes no compromises in delivering dentistry at the highest level possible. We had the privilege of hosting him at a recent event with dental professionals where he shared his vast knowledge and expertise with fellow like minded dental professionals. There is no better dentist. I have never been to this location, but saw him at a previous practice. Dr. Ha is the perfect dentist. I had severe dental anxiety which caused me to neglect my teeth health, needed a root canal. He made me stop hating the dentist. He is caring, funny, has amazing banter and is just genuinely an awesome dude. Since he moved practices I've had no one that can possibly compare to him. Do yourself a favor and choose him for your dental care. I wish I still could.

I had a wonderful experience at Honolulu Smile Design! Everyone was very friendly and professional. Dr. John Ha has a very proactive approach to dentistry. He took the time to answer all my question and he was able to explain it in a relatable way which made it easier to understand. I had a smile on my face from the time I got in till the time I left, I'm guessing that was all by design.

Honolulu Smile extends the absolute best "customer service" you'll ever experience at a dental office, or anywhere, for that matter. I dare say it rivals "customer service" at 5-star Hotels. The difference is this, hotel workers are in the hospitality business and are constantly trained to ensure they perform accordingly. At Honolulu Smile, everyone beginning with the ladies at the front desk, dental assistants and Doctor John Ha, their service is "Genuine." It comes from their heart, it's real, they truly care for people. Hard to find words to express my appreciation for their sincerity and "genuine customer service."

He made me so happy and took so much of my problems away.These implants are the best thing I have done I can smell better taste better.I did the surgery two months ago and I love it I like to smile alot now because of my new teeth.

Going to the dentist is often regarded as a grudgingly done chore for some, and a truly nerve-raking experience for others. As one of the latter, I can sum up Dr. Ha and the staff at Honolulu Smile Design with one word: Superb. Their consummate professionalism is topped only by their genuine concern for their patients well-being. I would recommend Dr. Ha and his excellent personnel to anyone who appreciates being shepherded through a difficult but necessary process with competence and gentle care.

Honolulu Smile Design is awesome! Dr. Ha and his team are professional, friendly and so organized. I've been to a handful of dentists (inHin and California) and Honolulu Smile Design has made me feel the most comfortable (and who can say that about a dentist?!). The scheduling process is very easy - communication is clear, easy and fast. I especially appreciate seeing one hygienist each time (Jessica!) who is very knowledgeable. Dr. Ha is very thorough, explains everything clearly and doesn't push or sell procedures (which I've experienced at other dentists). And best of all everyone is so kind, nice and make the experience of going to the dentist painless.

I found Dr. Ha through online reviews. There are many other dentists with good reviews but a lot of feed back about Dr. Ha was that he really gives attention and time for each patient. I found this to be absolutely the truth. From the very first visit, he gave me detailed consultation and answered all of my questions with sincerity. I really appreciated that he gave me suggestions with benefits-to-cost ratio all that was within my budget. The staff is also very kind and gentle. I am very happy with the cost and the whole process of having an implant done at Honolulu Smile Design. I would highly recommend anyone to see Dr. Ha for all their dental needs.

My husband and I came in to Honolulu Smile Design for a new patient consultation. We were independently drawn to them because of their positive advertising and online reviews. Despite having high expectations going in, they not only met, but exceeded them. In fact, we were so impressed that we couldn't stop talking about it all day. This office runs in perfect harmony. From the time you make your first appointment to the time you walk out, you are treated with great care and respect. The team at Honolulu Smile Design is top notch - friendly, competent, courteous, informative and efficient! Not just with you, as a patient, but also when interacting with each other, which says a lot! We teach leadership and employee development, team-building and customer service, so we know what works and what doesn't. In our current world of "ho hum" service, an organization like Honolulu Smile Design really stands out. Dr. Ha and his team are professionals and we are very glad to have found them! This office is truly amazing! Never been a fan of going to the dentist but they made it so simple and enjoyable. They were so nice and welcoming the second I walked through the door. The staff seems genuinely concerned with my overall well being. I didn't feel like I was just another number and tooth to them. Dr. Ha looks like he really enjoys his job and his patients. Dr Ha and his staff are great! You can tell that they really know their stuff and take pride in the care they provide to their patients. Dr Ha is a great guy and very easy to talk to so that makes dental visits a lot easier. I recommend them!
