Dr. Derrick C. Fu is a graduate of the class of 1979 from Punahou School. He attended the University of Southern California for undergraduate study and then graduated from University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 1987. He practiced for a year in Honolulu as a general dentist before returning to University of Southern California School of Dentistry to specialize in their endodontic program. Upon earning his certificate in 1990, he startedat Honolulu Endodontics and became a partner a few years later. In his spare time, he enjoys surfing, golf, stand up paddling, and watching his son and daughter in their activities.
Dr. John M. Kurahara, affectionately known as Dr. K, graduated from Punahou High School in 1975, attended Lewis and Clark College from which he graduated with honorsin 1979 and University of Washington Dental School in 1983. He became a General Practice Resident at Queens Medical Center from 1983-1984 and then eventually opened his own private practice from 1984-1993 here in Honolulu. From 1995-1997, Dr. K. was the Assistant Chief of the Dental Division at Queens Medical Center. He later becoming the Chief of the Dental Division at Queens Medical Center from 1997-2000.
Dr. Ishikawa graduated from the University Laboratory School in 2001. Graduate from the University of the Pacific with a B.S. in Biological Sciences in 2005. He graduated Summa Cum Laude at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry with his D.D.S. degree and continued his dental training by completing a one-year AEGD Residency through Lutheran Medical Center at Kalihi Kokua Valley. In 2012, he graduated from the University of Texas Science Center at San Antonio for Endodontics. Dr. Ishikawa is affiliated with the ADA, AAE, and HDA.Dr. Ishikawa is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, which is a board certification process that demonstrates the highest level of education in the specialty.
