Our dentist office in James Island is designed to change the way you feel about going to the dentist. We took all of the worst things that come to mind when you think about the dentist and did the exact opposite to ensure you have the best experience possible.
Holy City Dentistry is committed to providing quality dental care. Our dentist, Dr. Greenfield, personally sees each patient at every visit, enabling her to establish a personal relationship and keeping her familiar with their oral health and treatment history. The entire staff also participates in regular continuing education to learn about the ever-changing trends and technology in dentistry.
From our inviting welcome as you walk through the door and contemporary office decor to the complimentary beverages, blankets, neck pillows, and warm towels offered at each visit, our amenities are meant to keep you comfortable before, during, and after your exam or procedure.
For those who are especially anxious when it comes to dental cleanings or other procedures, we offer sedation dentistry with nitrous oxide. This gentle treatment takes the edge off while in the exam room, but quickly wears off to allow you to carry on with the rest of your day.
We dont buy into the saying, ignorance is bliss. The more our patients know, and the better they understand and feel in control of their oral health, the more we believe we have done our jobs. Dentistry should never be scary or mysterious, which is why our well-trained team takes the time to explain our procedures and answer every question a patient asks.
We have chosen the technology we use in our office to create a comforting and effective environment for our patients. Incorporating technology, like TVs in the lobby and mounted on the ceiling in the exam rooms, helps the time pass and provides something else to focus on.
Dr. Kristy Castles, formerly Dr. Greenfield, is originally from Richmond, Virginia, where she grew up with a less-than-perfect smile. An elbow to the mouth while she had braces in middle school caused one of her front teeth to come loose and turn gray. Fortunately, her dentist was able to save her tooth, and her self-confidence. This personal experience made her realize the impact dentists can have on their patients lives, and she decided she wanted to provide this valuable service to others.
Dr. Castles graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Biology and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Medical College of Virginia. She continued her education at the Medical University of South Carolina with a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry, which is when she fell in love with Charleston.
After working in other dental offices, Dr. Castles decided to start her own practice so she could provide the quality care she believes every patient deserves. She prefers to focus on establishing personal relationships with her patients rather than the bottom line, and prides herself in her attention to detail and commitment to perfection.
Part of providing top-notch treatment is staying informed about the latest dental techniques and technology. Not only does she attend continuing education sessions and dental conferences, Dr. Castles' husband can also attest to the fact that she is constantly researching and continuing to expand her knowledge of dentistry.
Dr. Castles' passion for helping others spans much further than the walls of her dental practice, and she has participated in over 10 dental mission trips thus far, both locally and abroad. She also regularly volunteers at Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach, a free dental clinic located on Johns Island for those in need. She is a member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association and Academy of General Dentists.
A healthy smile is good for your self-esteem and your overall health, which makes taking care of your teeth doubly important. At Holy City Dentistry, we not only eliminate the fear of going to the dentist with our comfort menu and sedation, we also make the best dental care On James Island affordable.
Dont have dental insurance? Dont worry, we have you more than covered! Our in-office plan allows you to pay one low price for quality preventive treatment and entitles you to a discount on any other additional services. In fact, many of our patients prefer our plan over traditional dental insurance.
Whether youve had a routine check-up every six months for decades or have avoided the dentist office for years, our main goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible and offer options that make coming to our office convenient.
After being greeted by our front desk specialist, you will be invited to spend your brief wait in our relaxing reception area. Enjoy our complimentary water and coffee while you watch your children play in our kids area.
The spa-like atmosphere of our exam rooms will help you forget youre here for your dental check-up or having a procedure done. Watch your favorite show on the ceiling-mounted TV while resting your head on a neck pillow and relaxing under a blanket.
For those who find visiting the dentist or undergoing a procedure unnerving, we offer sedation dentistry. Nitrous oxide administered through a small mask covering the nose takes the edge off while still keeping you awake.
Its hard to find time in our busy lives to take care of ourselves, but self-care is what keeps us at our best. We make dental treatment as convenient as possible with extended hours each week and being open on Fridays, when many dentist offices are closed.
In addition to being in-network with numerous dental insurance providers and accepting CareCredit, we also offer HCD Membership Plan, our in-house payment plan designed for those who dont have access to, or want a better alternative to dental insurance.
