With this in mind, Holt Family Dental Care is excited to announce the installation of the HALO-LED(TM), a LED in-duct, whole office air purification system. The HALO-LED(TM) is both mercury free and zero ozone compliant, and actively treats every cubic inch of air conditioner/heated space to reduce airborne and surface contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, mold and allergens.

Dr. Michael grew up in Galesburg, Illinois. He is the seventh in a family of nine children. Six out of the nine, including Dr. Michael, attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from the Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1987. He and his wife, Dr. Theresa, have been in practice together in Fairfield, Iowa for over thirty years.

Dr. Michaelis currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association, AD PAC, and the Southeast Iowa District Dental Society. Dr. Michael is a past president of the Southeast Iowa District Dental Society. He has served as chairman of the Membership Benefits Committee of the Iowa Dental Association and worked as an adjunct instructor at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.

Dr. Michaels community memberships include the Libertyville Savings Bank Board of Directors (1995-present), Fairfield Airport Commission, Xavier University Parent/Family Advisory Board (past president), St. Mary Catholic Church Parish Council, Knights of Columbus, and the Elks Club. He is a past member of the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Fairfield Golf and Country Club Board of Directors, Xavier University Parent/Family Advisory Board (past president]. and the St. Mary Catholic Church Parish Council.

Dr. Michael and his wife Dr. Theresa have two children. Lauren is a graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati, and also graduated witha Masters Degree from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. Michael attends Fairfield Middle School.

Dr. Michael is an avid distance runner. He has competed in more than 15 marathons. One of his favorite accomplishments was qualifying for the Boston Marathon, which he ran in 3 hours and 13 minutes! Next on his bucket list...the Honolulu Marathon.

Dr. Theresa was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She chose to follow in the footsteps of her father and three of her siblings by attending Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Theresas father obtained his medical degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine, and her sister Cynthia and brother Kevin graduated from Creightons dental school.

Dr. Theresagraduated from the Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1987. She and her husband, Dr. Michael, have been practicing dentistry in Fairfield for over thirty years. They have two children: Lauren, a graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio with degrees in Music Education and Violin Performance. She obtained a Masters Degree in Violin Performance from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, and teaches at Punahou School of Music in Honolulu; Michael is an avid musician (he plays the violin, percussion, piano, and ukulele) and is the in-house tech advisor at the Holt residence. Michael attends Fairfield High School where he is involved in marching, jazz, and concert band, choir and jazz choir, student council, and tennis. He is also a member of the Preucil School of Music String Orchestra in Iowa City.

Dr. Theresa is a member of the American Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association, and the Southeast Iowa District Dental Society. Within the community, Dr. Theresa has served on the St. Mary Catholic Church Parish Council, Fairfield Community School District Vertical Team, St. Mary Preschool Board (past president), Xavier University Parent/Family Advisory Board (past president), Xavier University Parent/Family Advisory Board (past president), Jefferson County Medical Dental Auxiliary, and is a member of PEO Chapter C.

Dr. Matthew ?grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, where he attended Creighton University for both undergraduate and dental studies. He earned hisB.A. in Psychology before attending dental school. Dr. Matthew earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Creighton University in 2013, where he also participated in research, community service, and served as a tutor. Additionally, he was a student teacher in the Department of General Dentistry.

Dr. Matthew began working at Holt Family Dental Care soon after he finished dental school. Dr. Matthew enjoys getting involved in the community and staying current on all the advances in dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, and Southeast Iowa District Dental Society. Dr. Matthew is also clinical supervisor for the Indian Hills Community College dental assistant program.

Kelli began working at Holt Family Dental Care in early 2014. She has been a great help in assisting patients to better their oral healthcare through regular dental cleanings, periodontal therapy and maintenance. Kelli also spends time at the front desk working with patients and helping the office thrive with the new digital/computer upgrades.

Gina Wells is the youngest of seven children and attended Pekin High School. She graduated from Kirkwood Community College with an AAS in Dental Hygiene in 2001. Gina is currently furthering her education by pursuing a Masters degree in Dental Hygiene from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.She is licensed to administer local anesthesia and is also certified to administer nitrous oxide sedation.

Gina and husband Andrew resided in Iowa City for ten years before moving back to Richland in 2003. They have three children who attend Pekin Community Schools: Drew, Carson, and Sydney. All three are heavily involved in sports and dance. Gina is a member of St. Joseph and Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in Pleasant Plain, where she served as secretary of the parish council and taught religious education for five years.

An avid sports fan, Gina loves to watch the Cardinals and Hawkeyes, living in a house-divided amongst Cubs and Cyclone fans as well. In her spare time she enjoys hot yoga, reading, and traveling anywhere she can be near the ocean.

Cathy Lathrop is a lifelong resident of Fairfield and a 1989 graduate of Fairfield High School. She has been with Holt Family Dental Care since 2007and brings 20 years of experience to our dental team. She received her AA degree at Indian Hills Community College in 1992. In 1993 she received her AAS degree in Dental Assisting from Kirkwood Community College and is a certified dental assistant (CDA). She is also a registered dental assistant (RDA) in the state of Iowa. Cathy and her husband Bob reside in Fairfield along with her two children, Madison and Chase.

Judy Hardin is a Registered Dental Assistant and has been assisting our dental team chairside for twenty-seven years. Judy and her husband Clint reside just outside Birmingham. They are parents of two children and are blessed with four grandchildren.

Connie Hersh has been a Registered Dental Assistant at Holt Family Dental Care for twenty two years. Connie is part of our chair side dental team, and helps to ensure that each patient receives the best possible care.She and her husband Greg reside near Ollie, Iowa. Connie has three grown children and two grandsons.

Dawn has worked at the front desk since March of 2015. She helps with managing patient accounts, greeting patients, and scheduling. Dawn lives south of Richland with her husband Chad, where they farm and raise cattle. They have two sons, Keegan and Connor, and two daughters, Samantha and Mallory.
