Dr. Peter Holden is a Board-Certified Periodontist who was born and raised in Midland, MI. He earned his dental degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2011, graduating 5th in his class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Epsilon National Dental Honor Society. After graduation, Dr. Holden commissioned into the United State Air Force. While serving in the Air Force, he completed a three-year Periodontal Residency Program and also received his Masters of Science Degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He served 7 years of active duty, providing Periodontal and Dental Implant Dentistry to fellow Air Men and Veterans. After separating from the Air Force in 2018, Dr. Peter Holden joined the Periodontal practice that his father Dr. Michael Holden established in Midland, MI in 1983.
Dr. Pete has been married to his wife Nicole since 2009 and they have three children. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, fishing, attending his kids sporting and music events and a good bonfire. He is active in the community and serves on the Board for Helping Hands.

I moved to Midland a few months after having reconstructive surgery on my jaw. This necessitated a total removal of all teeth, and I was flying back and forth to Dallas to complete the process. Out of frustration with TA&M-Baylor Prosthodontics and the logistical nightmare, I asked some trusted sources if there was an Oral Surgeon with a military background in the area (my oral surgeon in Dallas said that this was the equivalent to the Ivey League of Dentistry). After my initial consultation I was surprised that Dr. Holden recommend 11 implants rather than 14, and his price point was 16% less than the surgeon in Dallas. Further, there was a confidence in Dr. Holden that I can recognize in Professionals that are humble in their abilities when objectively they're superior to their contemporaries. I had 11 implants placed early in 2022. Without general anesthesia. At my request. There was something intangible about the way he operated. I can describe it as a Surgeon combined with a military calm. I know how awful, tedious, procrastinated and expensive this landscape is when you're entering it. I hope this review will save you some of those sufferings. I have had five surgeries in forty years and have had my fair share of less than ideal Doctors. There's an epidemic in my reason why I had to refuse pain medication post-op. I suppose what I am poorly trying to illustrate is that Dr. Holden and his Office would be the standard I wish others would measure themselves against.

Great caring staff, Communications were great too. I had several questions and called them several times and every time I called they were more than accommodating and very helpful and kind.

Such a warm, inviting office. The staff are so kind and friendly. Dr Holden is Amazing! You can really tell they care about their patients. I highly recommend!

My niece was in from out of town and chipped her tooth. He made sure he took a look to ease her mind before traveling 9 hours the next day. He has always been so helpful to us and so very friendly!

My three year old cracked his tooth vertically after our dentist was closed for the day. I called Dr. Pete Holden seeking advise and he did not hesitate to tell me to bring him in though it was late in the day. He was incredible with my son. His evaluation confirmed the tooth cracked up into the root and needed to come out. He explained exactly what steps would occur clearly, so I could anticipate how my son might react at each step. Dr. Holden's calm and friendly manner kept my son (and me!) stress free throughout. Now my son is proud to be the first kid in the family to lose a tooth! I cannot recommend his practice highly enough!

Not at all reluctant to send statements well before insurance action. ...even if invoiced amount is in error. Then, no apology. Son should take lessons from father. ...last "visit" may be my last visit. Oh yeah, on First "visit" with New Doc - only after my initiative did New Doc introduce himself. For shame, for shame...

I always like going to Dr. Holden's office. The waiting area is always very clean, the staff is friendly and knows me when I walk through the door. Dr. Holden is really down-to-Earth yet very professional, and really knowledgeable. I had an appointment recently and felt entirely safe with the precautions put in place to protect patients and staff.

I would highly recommend Dr. Peter Holden. If you are considering or in need of a dental implant, this is your doctor. I don't typically write reviews but my experience at Holden Periodontics was exceptional. Dr. Holden is very knowledgeable and I appreciated that he was able to explain my treatment in a way that was easy to understand. Thankfully, I did not experience any pain due to his excellent care but he assured me that if I were to experience anything concerning that he would be available to address my concerns no matter what time of day. Like most people, I am very uneasy when undergoing dental procedures and the fact that I knew he would be there for me was very comforting.

Dr. Holden took my wisdom teeth out over Christmas break. Mine were impacted so I was put under IV sedation. The whole process while not pleasant went very smooth. Dr. Holden and his assistant Brenda were kind and accommodating and made the experience less scary and stressful. Thank you!!

I can't tell you how thankful I am for the wonderful care I received at Dr. Holden's office today! I've been through a lot trying to get help for a painful tooth and he and his staff did an amazing thing for me ....and I have never even seen this dr before! I highly recommend if you are needing special care for your mouth, give them a call! I am so thankful that Dr. Ribitch in Mt. Pleasant referred me to this office for an infected tooth that needed pulling!!! Thank you so much! You are the BEST!!!! Oh, did I mention they worked on my tooth on a day they are normally closed??? These people are amazing!!!! God bless them!!!

Everyone here goes out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable calling for information or to schedule appointments. Great service at the front desk, easy to call and make or change appointments. Hygienists are very thorough yet gentle. Always a very short wait, this place has their schedule worked out to a tee. I personally had some issues with previous dentists, where they caused some damage and did not do the right thing. I had gone to many places to get an honest opinion on what had been done to me, and what I needed to do moving forward. Out of several places, Dr. Holden was the only one who was honest, told me what needed to be done, and assisted me moving forward. I am now done with the procedures, and could not be happier. Highly recommended this office!

Dr. Peter Holden recently placed my dental implant after my infected molar was taken out. I have nothing but positive things to say about his quality of care. I felt safe and he answered all of my questions. I never felt like I was being rushed or he had to get to someone else. Needless to say everything went smoothly with the procedure and I'm looking forward to my new tooth.
