Dr. Sandy Lor was born and raised in Fitchburg, MA and graduated from Fitchburg High School where she earned the General Excellence Award awarded to one female and one male student in a graduating class who exemplified excellence in academics, leadership, volunteer, and other aspects of their character. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and studied studio arts at Simmons University (formerly Simmons College) in Boston, MA, where she continued to lead her peers as Student Government President and earned the Presidents Joan Melber Warburg Leadership Award. As an undergraduate student, Dr. Lor also participated in dental research at the Forsyth Institute and research in colors and pigments at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
Dr. Lor continued her journey to her dream dental school at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) in Boston, MA where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD). With Dr. Lors excellent clinical and leadership skills, she was recruited to be the TUSDM Head Teachers Assistant of Prosthodontics where she helped mentor and tutor underclassmen dental students in dental preclinical sessions to hone their hand-eye coordination and preparations. Dr. Sandy Lor valued her experience of service to the Cape Cod Community Health Center where she served the community as a student dentist. Dr. Lor was awarded a certificate of Global Service Learning at TUSDM and participated and volunteered with Dentists for Humanity to serve underserved rural communities in dental services. Dr. Lor cherishes her memories and relationships that she made with Dentists for Humanity and hopes to continue to volunteer her time and services with them in the near future.
Some people know from a very young age that they want to become a dentist, but that was not the case for Dr. Lor. Through her individual experiences of service, mentorship, leadership, building relationships with people, interests in the combination of arts and sciences, and valuing education, she found dentistry; a field of study that combined all of her core values. Dr. Lor believes that her purpose in this world is to connect with others through kindness, empathy, and help others positively impact and improve peoples lives through the care of their oral health.Dr. Lor will continue learning dentistry with the Seattle Study Club of Worcester and hopes to continue her journey as a lifelong learning dentist. Dr. Lor is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, Wachusett Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Seattle Study Club of Worcester.
In her free time, Dr. Lor enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing board games, playing volleyball, hiking mountains, fishing for trout, walking and jogging, painting, and watching Harry Potter movies. Dr. Lor is a big-time foodie and aspires to travel the world to eat all foods from all countries and cultures. Dr. Lor looks forward to meeting you and learning more about all her patients.
