From the time Wendell Holdbrook decided to pursue dentistry, it was clear that he wanted to treat children. Dr. Holdbrook uses his mild, warm personality to create a friendly, approachable environment that is inviting to those of all ages. He is calm and easily adapts to each childs needs and manner.
It is not just about his personality. Dr. Holdbrook is highly skilled in the area of pediatric dentistry. In addition to routine services like check-ups and cleanings, Dr. Holdbrook also has a unique talent for restorative dentistry, including tooth-colored fillings and the use of cosmetic strip crowns.
Dr. Holdbrooks strength is his successful use of oral conscious sedation to treat medically-compromised and special needs children or those who may be anxious and unable to comfortably cope with dental care.
Dr. Holdbrook has also mastered the skill of Laser Dentistry which allows him to treat patients who are tongue tied, have Speech Impediments and babies who are having problems latching during breastfeeding.
Dr. Holdbrook received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, earning the Award for Exceptional Ability in Childrens Dentistry. Dr. Holdbrook received his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the Temple University Hospital, Episcopal Division, Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program where he was also awarded the Best Clinician Award.
Licensed to practice in New Jersey. Dr. Holdbrook is a Diplomat with and Certified by The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), American Dental Association (ADA), New Jersey Dental Association (NJDA) and American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD).
Dr. Holdbrook is a longtime resident of Southern New Jersey, graduating from Collingswood High School, and currently resides in Moorestown, New Jersey with his wife and three daughters. He is active in the community, including his commitment to treating patients that are Intellectually Disabled.
Dr. Gupta knew from a very young age that she had a passion for dentistry. She obtained her dental degree at the New Jersey Dental School. Upon completion, she did a general practice residency at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, NJ. It was here that she fell in love with her young patients liveliness and spontaneity. She worked as a general dentist for 2 years with a focus on children. Dr. Gupta then completed a pediatric dental specialty residency at St. Christophers Hospital for Children. Dr. Gupta loves bringing smiles to children and makes her patients oral health care her top priority.
Dr. Christine Biondi graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry. Her love for helping children feel comfortable in the dental office inspired her to pursue pediatric dentistry. She moved to New York City to complete a pediatric residency program at Columbia University. She has been honored with numerous awards for achievement, including the Richard C. Pugh award given to students scoring in the top 3% in the country on the pediatric dental board exam.
Additionally, Dr. Biondi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. After practicing pediatric dentistry in both South Carolina and Ohio while her husband was completing training for cardiothoracic surgery, she is happy to finally be back near family and friends in New Jersey, and looks forward to calling Mullica Hill home. Dr. B loves photography and enjoys taking sunrise and sunset photographs while traveling.
Dr. Byrde Pettigrew has specialized in pediatric dentistry for over thirty years. Dr. Byrdes love for children and joy of service, helped her to choose her career path in dentistry. Her gentle demeanor relieves the minds of her patients and their parents. Dr. Byrde obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine and specialty training at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Byrde lives in the Camden County area with her wonderful husband, Christopher. They have three adult children, Heather, Julius and Marcus. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. In her spare time Dr. Byrde has been known to catch up on a good book or watch her favorite movie. She also enjoys to sew and even knit on occasions. Dr. Byrde has a true passion for travel and new adventures. Dr. Byrde joined Holdbrook Pediatric Dental in mid-2017 and travels to all three locations; Cherry Hill, Swedesboro and Princeton.
Dr. Melissa Blake is a board certified pediatric dentist, specializing in dental care for infants, children, adolescents, and special needs patients.. She attended Trinity College of Hartford, Connecticut where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Studio Arts in 2011. Following college she attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine where she obtained her Doctorate in Dental Medicine in 2015. During her time in training Dr. Blake realized her true calling was in caring for the needs of children. She subsequently attended a specialty training program and obtained her certificate in Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry in 2017 at the Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine. Since then she has enjoyed making the rewarding field of pediatric dentistry her lifes work. She states The most rewarding moment of my day is when an anxious child puts their trust in me that everything will be okay.
Outside of work Dr. Blake and her husband enjoy the outdoors, discovering new restaurants, and spending time with family. They own a Keeshond named Aria who they hope will make a wonderful therapy dog one day. We are excited to welcome Dr. Blake to our team!

EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL- we were berated infront of multiple other patients (HIPPA VIOLATION) for refusing x-rays at my four years old cleaning appointment.. They basically said well since you're refusing x-rays I'm not even sure if she can get a cleaning today and had to go ask. Then the dentist came in ( looked at her teeth for 3.5 seconds) and said if you refuse again then she can't be a patient here anymore stating they just need x-rays for their records and there was no medical necessity for them at this point. Dr. Gupta was extremely condescending and rude speaking about our care infront of the other two patients in the SAME room and turns around writes something in all caps in my daughters chart and walks away. I am so taken back!!!!!! What has happened to being able to advocate for your child! There's multiple instances where this has happened to other people as well in the reviews!!!! DONT GO TO THIS OFFICE !!

My daughter's treatment was canceled. I never received a text confirmation. Mind you all 4 Kids go there & I get notifications for only 3 of them. My child's notification went to her father's phone instead of mine. I tried explaining that and the condescending staff member but she told me someone else was scheduled in her Slot cause I didn't confirm via text & didn't even care or seem to want to reschedule. She was Concerned in Making me feel inadequate for not confirming an appointment I'm removing all 4 children & going elsewhere after 10 years. UNBELIEVABLE!

Scheduled appointment for my two children MONTHS in advance as that was all they has available. I get confirmation emails almost daily including 1 hr before the appt. Leave work early, get kids from daycare, get there and they tell me that they are down a Dr. And the Hygienist is double booked and cannot see me?!!! The best they could do is see one kid and there'd be a long wait!! Wth?!!! This is just disgusting to do to parents. No one called me to let me know before hand. Why?! They put the number in, but didn't even bother to send an email!! To get another appt, I'll have to wait yet another couple of months!! This is second practice that's done this to me! Barclay Dental cancelled on us same day as well. What is so hard about communicating!? Gas, time, and effort to get there is truly sooo unprofessional of them to do this. Terrible client service. I've been in the dental field 20 yrs and would never do this to someone! Smh

I feel very comfortable with everyone there they are fantastic my grandchild is not easy but they handle her very well and they do a fabulous job thank you for such great service. I recommend holdbrook pediatric to anyone who needs dental work.

Love it here!! The staff here are all so sweet, welcoming, understanding and fun! so much so that my (very shy) child just loves everyone here and actually asks to go back! Highly recommend!!

We live an hour and a few minutes away from this place. And I LOVED how they treated my baby on her first dentist appointment! I can't wait to continue to take her there! The drive is WORTH it!

To say that I am disappointed is an understatement . My daughter has gone to Holdbrook Pediatrics for approximately 7 years and the way we were treated at the end was actually disgusting . I brought up a concern to the office regarding an impacted tooth I was never told about . Dr Holdbrooks wife got on the phone and berated me because I was questioning what had happened and why this is missed . I was told that I didn't know what I was talking about and that I can go to another dentist since I didn't trust them etc etc... she told me they pick the patients and I was not chosen to stay any longer if I had a problem . Basically I'm disposable because of my concern. To me that was unacceptable and the only reason she could speak to me like that was because she was the owner . So I did just that . I requested my daughters X-rays and charts and had them transferred to another dentist office . I've never complained before or questioned anything but it seems if you do they're not happy. I have heard them lately talk to patients disrespectful and it's not ok. Wait time for cavities are months in advance too. I don't know I used to love them now I wouldn't recommend them ever ! So disappointed

We had a great experience here today. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and informative. I had some doubts at our first couple of appointments just because they were a little "funny" about me going back with my son (5 at the time), but not today. Both the hygienist and the dentist were patient and so very helpful with sharing information and recommendations for my son's teeth. My son was also calm and happy throughout the appointment. Thank you.

I had the hardest time finding a good dentist for my daughter, I mean I saw 2 dentists literally pry her mouth open past where it should have been which made the corners of her mouth so raw she would cry everytime she had to eat for the days following her appt. After the 2nd time I decided to look again for a decent dentist, I wanted someone who wouldnt scar her mentally for all future dental trips. Holdbrook popped up on google and I called they got her in rather quickly after I explained her previous experiences and how her teeth were at that moment. I was extremely hesitant to let her go back without someone with her but I figured when she came back out I'd know if it was a good experience. She came out smiling and told me that she and the. Nurse talked about unicorns and they "didnt hurt me at all mommy!" That day I found out that she would need quite a few teeth removed and all I could think was that this was going to take forever and was once again dreading the search for someone to do the surgery. The dentist she saw in office that day was the one who did her surgery and when he came out before the surgery I saw how she did not tense up even though she knew she was getting teeth removed. My child may have only just turned 5, but she has always had an instinct for who she can trust and not trust. To see her visibly relax when she saw this man was more reassuring than anything anyone could say to me about the people at Holdbrook. My daughter had 2 or 3 fillings and I believe 8 teeth extracted. She went to her check up with no fear or uncertainty. Today she went for a filling and she was so happy with how they treat her that she said "mommy you should come to my place they are nice and dont hurt your teeth like your place does to you sometimes" (dental problems run on both sides of the family). That is how they treat their patients. Everytime I've taken her they treat me with just as much respect and kindness as they treat her. I am so so SO glad that I was able to find Holdbrook. And who knows maybe I will take my little lady's advice and see if they'll accept me as a patient as well. To anyone reading this I can not say enough wonderful things about this place. I recommended my nephew be taken there because he has autism and REALLY bad teeth. I heard that it was the first time he didnt fight the dentist about getting checked. He didnt enjoy and he doesn't want to go back because he hates people near him, but he has said that he likes them more than anyone else hes ever seen. So if you're on the fence about this place, I want to tell you that I love them and I would and have recommended them to people I know.

I switched to Holdbrook dental from my kids' first pediatric dentist and wow, what a difference. I'm so glad we made the switch. The place itself is clean and so fun and inviting for kids. The staff has always been extremely kind and friendly, making me and my kids very comfortable. We have never had a long wait which I really appreciate, and getting an appointment hasn't been an issue either. My kids literally love going here lol the prizes are their favorite part and for me it's feeling like I can trust the dentists. Definitely recommend.
