Dr. Hatakeyama received his dental degree from Northwestern University Dental School. He has over 25 years of experience providing comprehensive, highly skilled dentistry to his patients. He continues to enhance his dental knowledge and hone his skills by completing continuing education classes, such as the Rondeau Orthodontic Seminars, IAO Orthodontic Classes, the Perio Institutes Implant Workshop, and Nobel Biocare implant seminars. His compassion and gentle care evoke confidence from his patients, and he uses his skills to provide excellent dentistry.
Dr. Petrilli studied at the University of Southern California where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (D.D.S.). She is well-versed in the latest advancements in dental care and cosmetic procedures. It is her goal to teach her patients how to take an active role in preventing dental disease and to provide them with the personalized, gentle care they deserve. After working in a private practice in California, she relocated to the Chicago area and joined Hoffman Estates Dental Professionals.
Dr. Thomas Hatakeyama received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. There he immediately discovered his passion for all aspects of dentistry and set out to master as many facets of the profession as possible. He is particularly dedicated to continuing education and further expanding his knowledge and skillset. Above all, Dr. Hatakeyama considers trust, understanding, and communication between a doctor and a patient to be the most important aspect of care. He is excited to be working alongside his father, and he looks forward to meeting many wonderful people along the way. In his free time, Dr. Hatakeyama enjoys playing soccer and tennis, and he is a big FC Barcelona fan.
Julie helps us maintain a high standard of excellence throughout our office. Thanks to her professionalism and attention to detail, we are able to meet the needs of our patients with thoroughness and efficiency.
Anna delivers preventive care to our patients including exams, digital X-rays, fluoride treatments, sealants, routine and periodontal cleanings, and dental hygiene education. She also provides patients with Zoom cosmetic whitening.

By chance, Dr Hatakeyama was able to see me for an emergency visit. I was visiting family, hundreds of miles from my dentist, when I experienced extreme tooth pain. Not only did the doctor diagnose my need for a root canal and prescribe antibiotics, but he thoroughly explained why he made the diagnosis. No one likes to hear they need a root canal, but it was sure comforting to feel 100% confident in a doctor's advice. The staff is friendly and competent. Everyone made me feel welcomed, even though I was not an existing patient. I highly recommend Hoffman Estates Dental Professionals.

I have been going to Dr Thomas since 2017.This is the first time I have enjoyed going to a dentist. He is very friendly, caring and professional. He has performed routine maintenance like cavity filling, root canal and extractions all caused by neglect from the time prior to going to Dr. Thomas. Now my teeth are in excellent condition. All my family members go to him regularly for dental health. I will 100% recommend him. The staff is very nice too.

I have finally found a practice with reliable dentists and kind, efficient front staff workers. It's very rare to find both. You are greeted with such warmth. All paperwork and billing is handled in a timely manner. If you have any questions, they are 100% transparent. They spend every minute with you to cater to your needs - not just sign you in and out. The doctors are equally friendly and knowledgeable. I've been to practices where I have a preferred doctor because of the service. But every dentist at this place is so qualified and helpful. I've seen Dr. Petrilli and Dr. Hatakeyama. Comparably satisfied with both. Not only are the doctors amazing, but they refer you to reliable and trustworthy specialists. I've followed their recommendations through and through and have never been disappointed. Overall, this place will provide you unmatched care and service. It checks all the boxes you need from a Healthcare facility. I'm happy to have found a practice I can trust.

Dr. Thomas made going to the dentist for a root canal somehow fun? We listened to awesome music and he was cracking jokes and telling stories the whole time! Not to mention this whole office is super informative and not only explains everything but also educates you on what they're doing/what you need to be doing. Definitely found my new dentist!

I have been looking for a good dentist for a long time now and finally found one at this hoffman estates dental professional. All the staff and the doctors are so professional and friendly. Especially dr. Thomas. I have been so scared of fixing my teeth for a long time. But dr Thomas and his staff took away my fear in a few seconds. After each procedures I felt no pain at all. For a first when I went home after the procedures I was able to eat right away with no pain at all. I would recommend everyone to choose this facility for there family and friends.

Dr. Hatakeyama is HIGHLY skilled, honest, and very gentile. He is able to fix teeth that other dentists said had to be pulled. His work is superior to several prosthodontists I saw before him. In addition, he will not try and sell you services you do not need. I came here for a second opinion and Dr. Hatakeyama informed me I did not need the expensive services the other dentist was trying to sell me. The entire staff at Hoffman Estates Dental Professionals are extremely professional. Dr. Hatakeyama is the only dentist I have ever fully trusted. This office is amazing!

I wish I could give Hoffman Estates Dental Professionals more stars. I recently had to find a new dentist due to the retirement of my former dentist. A friend recommended Dr. Hatakeyama. I can't say enough about Dr. Hatakeyama and his staff. You are always greeted in a very friendly and professional manner when you enter his office. His office staff is exceptionally helpful and very personable. The Dr. is very warm and puts you at ease immediately. Dr. Hatakeyama is an excellent communicator and thoroughly explains any dental procedures before he performs them. I find him to be extremely gentle. I had four wisdom teeth extracted and felt absolutely no pain during the procedure. I was absolutely amazed at the fact that I felt no pain afterwards! His office staff even followed up with a phone call the following morning to see how I was doing. If you are looking for superior Dentistry services I can't recommend Hoffman Estates Dental Professionals and Dr Hatakeyama highly enough..
