Following his graduation from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry, Dr. Jim spent 15 months in Nicaragua working with the CRWRC, providing dental services and setting up a dental program. Upon his return to Grand Rapids, Dr. Jim has practiced dentistry in the Cutlerville area for 30+ years. Married to his wife Chris, he has 4 children and 12 grandchildren. When Dr. Jim has free time he enjoys spending time with his grandkids, fishing, and working on his golf game.
Dr. Jim has kept up to date with many continuing education classes, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care. Dr. Jim is looking forward to meeting all of your oral health needs.

I was very content with the care and information that I was given! Shelly was super knowledgeable and Jim, DDS was super kind and pleasant. Even the front desk was super helpful in explaining the changes in the future with my insurance dental carrier and the breakdown in the payment.

Excellent service and care. We've been bringing our kiddos and family here for years, we have tried other places closer to our area but when you have experienced excellency it is hard to settle for anything less. They are excellent. :)

I have gone to Hoekwater Family Dentistry for years. I have a fear of the dentist that stems from my childhood. They make me feel safe there. Never judge me for being scared. I always feel comforted. They are honest about what work needs to be done and doesn't charge you for unnecessary work. They are the only dentist I trust in the area. I continue to see them even after moving out of the area. Give them a call! You won't be disappointed!

They told me recently I need to go to an orthodontist and get braces after going to Hoekwater since I was roughly 7. I am now a senior in highschool. Great people but I'm fuming right now

I love going to the dentist. Hoekwater Family Dentistry is amazing. They always work with my schedule. I have a great smile and I love that they take pride in my teeth. They listen to me and always include me in the decision-making process. Dr. Drew, Dr. Jim, and Dr. Jamie are all great at what they do they are complemented by wonderfully caring and knowledgeable office staff.

Hoekwater is a fantastic dental office, by far the best that both my wife and I have experienced. The dentists are knowledgeable, caring, and kind, but are yet very professional and competent. The hygienists are thorough as well and do a great job, and the office is well-equipped and very-well organized in how they run. They do great with kids also. When we've had "crisis" type issues they've always been able to get us in quickly as well. It would be hard to imagine a better dental experience!

This is about the 2nd or 3rd time I've had to wait 10-15 minutes after my scheduled appointment. Obviously try to be patient but can get really frustrating when I see 4 other patients (including my sister who was scheduled at the SAME time) go in way before me. Why am I the chopped liver?......
