Dr. Shane Hodson was born and raised in North Miami Beach. Dr. Shane first became interested in orthodontics in fourth grade when his grandfather, Dr. Malcolm Meister, brought him to his practice on Take Your Child To Work Day. He realized that an orthodontist not only improves the alignment of teeth, but also enhances the patients facial appearance and self-confidence. Dr. Shane has always enjoyed working with kids, working as a camp counselor, life guard, and tutor throughout high school and college.
Dr. Shane graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science with a minor in Chemistry. He earned his doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, and specialized in orthodontics at Nova Southeastern University. During his residency, he focused on the effectiveness of different treatment techniques while completing his masters thesis and received his Master of Science degree.
Dr. Shane enjoys serving his community, volunteering his time with Give Kids a Smile and other local groups. He is a current member of the American Associate of Orthodontics, Southern Association of Orthodontics, Florida Association of Orthodontics as well as the Florida Dental Association and the South Florida District Dental Association.

Dr. Meister received recognition for his positive influence on patients and the Profession of Orthodontics in the state of Florida when elected as president of the Florida Association of Orthodontists, inducted into the the American Board of Orthodontics, the American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists.
Nova Southeastern University opened the College of Dental Medicine in 1997 and Dr. Meister was selected to be the Founding Chairman of the Orthodontic Department and Professor at the new dental college.
Through his dedication to excellence, hard work, and passion for the profession and commitment to the students and residents (of which Dr. Shane was one) he developed the highly regarded orthodontic department that exists at Nova today. Dr. Meister has published numerous articles in highly regarded orthodontic and dental journals.
