Dr. Radhika Kapoor, a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, was born in New York City and raised in New Jersey. She has extensive experience and sincerity to pediatric oral health care. She is passionate about working with children and their families in a fun and gentle manner. Furthermore, Dr. Kapoors strong educational foundation allows her to sharea wealth of knowledge of oral health as it relates to overall wellness.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, focusing on areas of child development, at Barnard College, Columbia University, where she truly refined her education of child behavior and anxiety reducing techniques.
She then continued at Columbia University to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While at Columbia, she held leadership positions with the AAPD and Give Kids a Smile. She received numerous academic honors and was published in the NY State Dental Journal for her work on Ectodermal Dysplasia. Her passion for childrens dental health and community service was further solidified during her volunteer work, including a mission to Naranjito, Dominican Republic.
She had theprivilege of completing her pediatric dental residency training at well renowned Childrens National Medical Center in Washington DC, where she received extensive training and experience in treating patients with special health care needs, sedation, trauma, general anesthesia, and interceptive orthodontics. Inspired by her own personal struggles with nursing an infant with posterior tongue tie, Dr. Kapoor sought to enhance her training in CO2 soft tissue laser. In addition to years of continuing education and achieving proficiency in laser dentistry, Dr. Kapoor had the pleasure of having one-on-one training by one of the experts in the field, Dr. Martin Kaplan, who provided additional pearls of wisdom. Dr. Kapoor is pleased to provide CO2 soft tissue laser dentistry using the renowned Light Scalpel to her patients and their families. This has been instrumental in her tongue tie/lip tie frenectomy procedures, improving breastfeeding in infants, speech, feeding and airway issues in toddlers, and adult postural/sleep problems.
Dr. Kapoor is currently affiliated with Englewood Hospital, helping children who are unable to be safely treated in the dental office. In the hospital setting, Dr. Kapoor provides full mouth dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia.

Dr. Kapoor is an absolute godsend. She performed my daughter's frenectomy last December. After doing extensive research pre/post surgery regarding tongue/lip ties, I can honestly say that my 10 month breastfeeding journey would have never been possible without Dr. Kapoor and for this I am truly grateful. She immediately put us at ease when she examined my daughter's ties (which ended up being a severe case) and throughly explained pre/post work needed. The surgery was performed via laser, and was very quick. The results were immediate regarding the change and quality in feeding. Dr. Kapoor has amazing bed side manner, and is very warm and personable. I also now send my son to get his teeth cleaned/examined by her as well. Highly recommend!

Dr. Kapoor was amazing during our babies frenectomy. Not only did she take the time to explain everything in detail, but she did so without ever making us feel pressured to do the procedure. So thorough, informative, effective and efficient!

Dr. Kapoor took great care of my daughter, who recently had oral ties repaired by her. She explained everything to us beforehand and the procedure took just a few minutes. The results were pretty immediate, and feeding her became much easier. Dr. Kapoor made us feel really comfortable and you can truly tell how passionate she is about children and about her work. Highly recommend her!

We were having issues with breastfeeding - my baby was not latching/continuously sucking after latching and a lactation expert recommended us to check his tongue and lip ties. Dr Kapoor was very gentle and knowledgeable. She did the evaluation and we did the procedure, very fast and efficient. We could see the improvements in the first couple of days. We definitely recommend her!

I love the team at Smile Specialists, the Doctors are professional, friendly knowledgeable and always want the best for their patients. The rest of the team are always accommodating and extremely helpful. The appointments are always timely. My daughter had several extractions due to stubborn baby teeth, she was a nervous patient and all went easily and smoothly. I cannot fault their level of service and care for their patients.

Dr Kapoor saved us! My 5 month old was diagnosed with reflux early in life. I was not convinced she had it but she would randomly Puke and started losing weight. She was happy otherwise and was able to lay flat and sleep fine. We went to 5 diff doctors that said it was reflux and not a tongue tie. I tried 100 bottles and formulas, nothing worked. Well I am glad I kept pushing. We hired a feeding specialist who sent us to Dr Kapoor. I thank my lucky stars that she did. We instantly got diagnosed with a posterior tongue and lip tie. We made the decision to fix it that day. I had a hard time with this decision but I am glad with did it. The first few days were tough but after that we saw improvements. We went for a follow up a week later where and after talking to the Dr I decided to take my baby off the reflux meds. We gradually did that and she is still doing great. This procedure gave me a new baby. I struggled feeding her for 4.5 months. She was in the 9th percentile. Now she is gaining and is soooo happy! I cannot thank this practice enough. You saved my sanity.

I absolutely love Hoboken Smile Specialists. Dr. Kapoor is amazing with my son and daughter. She was even my support system when my son hit his tooth so badly that it had to be extracted. She helped us get through it. My daughter needed to get two cavities filled and we used the Solea laser machine. There was not a tear in my daughter's eyes. She said it didn't hurt and she was so happy after the treatment. I highly recommend trying this laser out. I wish they would've had it when I was a kid. The whole office staff and hygienists are so great with my kids. They get them to laugh and help them relax if there is even a glimpse of anxiety. We love Hoboken Smile Specialists! Our #1 dentist!

this place help me get over my fears of being in the dental office and having a dentist take care of me. I have been to this office several times (for my child as well). Dr Sam talk to me on the plan and the many options i had to improve my dental health. Gotta say she didn't give up and offered me the laser treatment which is painless! NO NEEDLE NEEDED!! i was put under gas and she made sure i was okay throughout the whole treatment! granted i felt some sensitivity (honestly it felt like having ice cream on a sensitive tooth) no crying pain and all was very well executed. The team in the office are all super nice to me and my child as we never have an issue. if i have questions they are always ready with an answer but when they don't get get the answer in a reasonable time so i never have to worry! Dr Sam, Dr Kapoor, and all the staff are just amazing!

There's no better dental practice in Hoboken than Dr. Kapoor and her team. We had a dental emergency and they were so accommodating, kind and didn't hesitate to work our son in for a last-minute appointment. And we don't just see them for our pediatric dental needs, my husband and I go for our own adult check-ups. Their hygienist, Jennifer is the best I have ever encountered: thorough, gentle, so knowledgeable and warm. From the front office's communication regarding insurance and payments prior to our visit, to the on-site care and treatment , you leave the office feeling empowered and satisfied. And my son never once complains about going because he feels safe, and cared for.

I was the lucky mom to have a baby born with natal teeth just 16 days ago. Over the weekend we realized that one of our daughter's teeth had become alarmingly loose. We had it pulled by a dear friend of ours on a Saturday night (don't panic - she's a pediatric physician assistant!) on Sunday we noticed the area where the tooth had been removed was greenish in color. We panicked that it could be infected. We couldn't get any appointment on a Sunday anywhere. The pediatrician's office gave us some solace that night stating if there wasn't a fever or change in feeding habits then it's very likely it could wait until morning.After a quick visit to the pediatrician who okayed most of the concern, she suggested we do our best to see a pediatric dentist to confirm everything was healing as expected. Let me tell you... we just walked into Hoboken Smile and the office staff were extremely accommodating and understanding. They squeezed us in same day - worked with us through insurance and a couple of hours later we were able to have our newborn seen by the wonderful Dr. Kapoor. Dr. Kapoor was so educated about our situation and then some! She was able to answer questions about latching/lactation which I never expected to have addressed by a dentist!! She answered al our questions without making us feel like we were asking too many questions. We were blown away by her compassion and understanding. She didn't rush through our conversation. And explained the next steps so we could prepare. Thankfully we were able to catch an issue and will Have a frenectomy performed next week! I cannot recommend this office enough! It's out of network for us but I'm still going to come here.

Dr. Kapoor did my 3 month old sons lip and tongue tie release. She took her time examining his ties and explaining the procedure to us during the consultation. She performed the procedure same day, which was very helpful as we live about a half hour from the office. Her bedside manner is unmatched. Her staff are friendly and professional. We had two follow up appointments and had a wonderful experience both times. We will continue to see Dr. Kapoor for our sons routine dental care.
