Hobbs Dentistry - General dentist in Augusta, GA

I enjoy meeting new people of all ages and helping them understand oral health. Dentistry is an exciting profession. New products and materials are always coming on the market and the solutions to common dental challenges are virtually endless. For me, emphasizing the need for regular checkups and cleanings is important. It is so much easier to prevent dental problems this way and is much kinder on the budget.

As patient care coordinator, my role is to help each patient stay on track with their care. There are great financing tools available now and we can often phase treatment to work with an individual's schedule and comfort level. I sincerely want our patients to feel that we are here for them; there is no challenge that we cant work through to help them keep their smile healthy!

Hobbs Dentistry - General dentist in Augusta, GA

At Hobbs Dentistry of Augusta, we want our patients to enjoy smiling! We know that how each individual feels about their smile plays an important role in how they interact with their friends, family and co-workers on a daily basis.

Cosmetic dentistry describes dental procedures that are focused on enhancing the appearance of your smile. Treatments include a variety of options from teeth whitening and cosmetic tooth bonding to complete smile makeovers with custom dental veneers and crowns.

Composite filling materials are made of a combination of synthetic dental resins and are available in a wide range of shades to match natural tooth structure. The light-activated ingredients form an adhesive bond to tooth enamel to fill small gaps and repair other minor tooth damage. This procedure is commonly known as cosmetic dental bonding.

While not as durable as cosmetic dental veneers and crowns, dental bonding materials are well suited for correction of small tooth defects. Dr. Hobbs often recommends cosmetic dental bonding procedures for smoothing chipped tooth edges and subtle shaping of front teeth to create a more uniform smile appearance.

Dental veneers reflect light in a similar fashion to natural teeth (a characteristic known as translucency). Your custom veneers are hand crafted by a dental laboratory based on Dr. Hobbs' instructions in a shade selected to complement your smile.

Dr. Hobbs may recommend cosmetic dental veneers for patients that would like to make dramatic changes to their smile, or to conceal flaws such as discolored or imperfectly shaped teeth. They make a great combination with cosmetic ceramic crowns to create a seamlessly beautiful smile makeover.

Cosmetic dental crowns serve multiple purposes; they may be used to replace an old crown that has become worn or discolored, or, to restore a tooth that does not have enough remaining healthy tooth structure to support a cosmetic dental veneer.

In contrast to a dental veneer, a dental crown completely covers the tooth surface above the gum line. Full tooth coverage helps to create a strong, natural-looking smooth surface that is easy to clean.

Missing teeth create gaps in your smile and can also cause health problems for other teeth. When a tooth is missing, surrounding teeth will move towards the open space. This movement causes the teeth to shift out of alignment, increasing the risk of broken teeth or even further tooth loss.

If I recommend a dentist, then TRUST me it's as close to painless as you'll get. I am terrified of the dentist thanks to bad experiences as a kid. I only had one dentist that I trusted and when he retired I was having a panic attack thinking of finding a new dentist. I went through one bad experience with a different dentist and was recommended to Dr. Hobbs though a family member. She's amazing, I love her. Highly recommend!

I couldn't ask for a better experience at the dentist. I was in and out in no time. The office is spotless, the staff are friendly and professional, and Dr. Hobbs did a great job.

They told me my visit would be covered by insurance, and then ended up sending a several hundred dollar bill to collections. I'm not the only person who has had this issue. Wouldn't recommend coming here unless you like law suits.

My review is based on two main points. The first is that they stopped accepting my insurance and did not inform me at a minimum of three separate instances (when scheduling, at reminder call, and upon leaving after a routine cleaning) even though I asked each time. Then they billed me and stated they had mailed a letter 7 months earlier and sent the account to collection. I finally paid because in order to fight this would require going to court. I also have major contention with the fact that I was told at 2 visits that I had cavities that never showed before and still do not show with my regular dentist. We are military so I never saw Hobbs again.

Been going with my children to this dentist over 5 years. They have called me incessantly over the summer to ask if I wanted to get Botox while my husband has been laid off due to Co-Vid; I told them the first call he was laid off and got 2 more calls asking did I want to make an appt. They not only e-mailed a confirmation of my appt but also called. Do one or the other and don't be overbearing in getting someone to come in unless they call you and request a service.

Let me start by saying this experience was 5-6 years ago. I went in for a routine cleaning which they said would be covered under insurance... it wasn't, BUT the big issue was they did an X-ray and told me I had 3 cavities and needed fillings. Luckily because I knew it wasn't covered by insurance I didn't have anything further done. After changing to my in-laws family dentist that is covered by my insurance he said I didn't have ANY cavities. Have been back multiple times and never had an issue. I would never recommend Hobbs... with a dentist you just go off of trusting them to be professional and honest but my one experience proves the opposite for this company. I hadn't thought to leave a review but now I moved and drive by this office everyday and now makes me infuriated every time I drive by!
