Dr. Hoaglin is a graduate of Cornell University where he was a member of the 1990 Ivy League Champion Football team. Following graduation in 1993, he worked for Athletes in Action, a Christian ministry that serves to meet the spiritual needs of college and professional athletes. He was based in Boston, MA and worked with athletes from Boston College, Brown University and the New England Patriots.

He then enrolled in the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he graduated Cum Laude in 2001. Dr. Hoaglin was also inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honorary Society for his academic achievements.

One of Dr. Hoaglin's proudest professional achievements came in 2013 when he received the prestigious Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) Fellowship Award. Requirements of the fellowship award include 500 hours of continuing dental education as well as passing a rigorous written examination covering all areas of dentistry. Less than 5% of all General Dentists have been awarded the AGD Fellowship Award.

Dr. Hoaglin is married to Jocelyn (Sayre) who is a Registered Dental Hygienist. Jocelyn worked as a hygienist in our practice for four years until she got a better job. She now spends her time at home raising their three active boys: Zachary, Dawson, and Walker.

After learning to ride a unicycle in 2012, Dr. Hoaglin began competing in triathlons (both on a unicyle and bicycle). He has since completed the 2013 Boise Ironman 70.3, 2014 Calgary Ironman 70.3, and 2015 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon. Dr. Hoaglin also competed in the 2014 & 2015 Rut 50K mountain run in Big Sky, MT. He is currently training for the inaugural Coeur D'Alene Ironman 70.3 and the 2016 Rut 50K.

Dr. Hoaglin, Jocelyn and all three boys play competitive ice hockey during the winter months and enjoy waterskiing in the summer. The boys are quickly turning into avid skiers and love spending time on the slopes.

Every member of our dental team has been with Rick Hoaglin, DMD for at least 15 years. They are all highly trained and experienced in their respective areas. Our staff works well together and enjoy caring for our patients as well as having a good time.

Bruce and Katie Our talented hygienist are committed to providing you with a thorough cleaning to help promote healthy teeth and gums. They are trained to provide excellent care and will educate you on proper periodontal health, which includes proper brushing, flossing and cleaning of your teeth and gums.

Beth and Pauline Both Pauline and Beth have more than 20 years of experience as chair-side dental assistants, and have been part of our team for 25 and 15 years respectively. Our dental assistants play a critical role in keeping our procedures running smoothly. They are responsible for treatment room set up, clean up and the sterilization of all of our instruments, as well as making sure we have all of the proper supplies we need. Beth and Pauline make Dr. Hoaglin's job much easier as they are always a step or two ahead of him, anticipating which instruments and materials will be needed and having them ready at just the right time.
