Having spent my earlier years residing in Nashville, Tennessee, I graduated from Father Ryan High School and later attended Tennessee Tech. I graduated from TTU in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
I then attended University of Tennessees college of Dentistry where I received my DDS degree in 1991. Following my graduation, I joined the Air Force for 3 years and moved to Chattanooga shortly after in 1995. I happily joined Dr. Mullinax in 2000 and together we created Hixson Dental Group.
I have been on the board of the Chattanooga area dental society for over 5 years, most recently being President of the board. I married my college sweetheart over 31 years ago and together we have three outstanding children. Outside of the office, I enjoy watching college football, traveling with my family, and playing drums!
I later felt a true calling to a career in dentistry from witnessing a patient gain renewed confidence after he lost all of his teeth due to substance abuse and received implant-supported dentures. I received my DDS degree from Loma Linda School of Dentistry located in California. I proudly graduated with a clinical ranking of #1 out of 137. I am so excited to be a part of Hixson Dental Group!
I am deeply committed to attending Continuing Education seminars and lectures all over the world in order to best care for the ever-evolving needs of my patients. I am looking forward to continue learning from my mentor and partner, Dr. Larry Mullinax, who is a pioneer in the field.
I have proudly been practicing dental hygiene for over 25 years, 20 of those years having been right here in Chattanooga! I love what I do and strive to make each patients visit a pleasant experience. Outside of work, I enjoy going to my sons sporting events and visiting the beach as often as possible.
After traveling the globe as missionaries with my family, I knew early on that my passions were to help other people achieve joy and happiness. What better way than to start with their smile! I have been an avid Archer and Equestrian since I was 9 and enjoy taking all of my knowledge in the equestrian world to a competitive level. In 2015 I added another passion to those avocations and I began school at Miller-Motte to become a Registered Dental Assistant. My passion grows with each patient and I am blessed that God has placed me in such a wonderful office.
Having spent a majority of my life in Chattanooga, Tennessee, I am so thrilled to call it home. I have been married for 42 years, and together, my husband and I have two children and four wonderful grandchildren. I have been working at Hixson Dental Group for the last 36 years! I am a graduate of Chattanooga State with a certification in dental assisting. I was a dental assistant for 8 years before moving to the office role. I enjoy camping and spending time with my grandchildren.
I have enjoyed working with Hixson Dental Group since August 2020. I have over 25 years of experience working in the front office of dental practices. I enjoy building relationships with patients and helping them anyway that I can. When I am not at the office, I love spending time with my family and traveling. I also enjoy hand lettering and watercolor painting.
A graduate from Tennessee Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, I later went on to pursue a degree in Dental Hygiene from Chattanooga State. I am a native of Chattanooga and have been practicing dental hygiene for over 20 years! I have two children and love to travel in my free time!
While I have traveled around most of my life, I am thrilled to now call Chattanooga home. I graduated from Chattanooga State in 1997 with my certification in dental assisting and have been with Hixson Dental Group for the last 21 years! I have four children and two grandbabies whom I love spending time with. In my free time, I love to craft, camp, and spend time with my family.
A graduate of Chattanooga State in 2000 with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene, I am so thrilled to have worked at Hixson Dental since graduating! I am a Florida native, but I have lived in Chattanooga since 1992. In my pastime I love to explore the Smoky Mountains, travel, and spend quality time with my two daughters and three dogs!
I began my dental career in 2002 as a dental assistant. In my current position, I am eager to assist existing and new patients with their financial and insurance concerns regarding their dental care. My objective for all patients is to be able to provide them with exceptional dental experience while helping them achieve their dental goals. I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 daughters. When I am not working you will find me traveling, shopping, hiking or enjoying my time on the lake with family and friends.
Having moved from Oklahoma in 1969, I now call Chattanooga home. I graduated from Chattanooga State in 1980 with my certificate in Dental Assisting. While I have been with Hixson Dental Group for the last 21 years, I have been a Registered Dental Assistant for 40 years! I absolutely love my job and making people smile. I enjoy spending time with my two wonderful grandchildren and attending church at Middle Valley Baptist.
I graduated from TN Technology Center of Knoxville in 2003 with my certification in dental assisting. I absolutely love my job and have enjoyed being a part of the Hixson Dental Group family since February 2021. With Drs. Champion & Pollom, (most days) it doesnt even feel like work! In 2005, I moved to Ider, AL atop Sand Mountain where I still live with my family. My husband, Daniel and I enjoy spending time with our daughters, Libby (her husband Micah) and Danica. Were active in our church and its ministries.
After working 14 years in the pharmaceutical industry, I decided to make the change to the dental field in 2016. I absolutely love seeing the impact that a healthy smile can have on a person! When Im not at work I stay busy with my teenage daughter. In my very limited free time, I enjoy finding treasures at thrift stores, laying in my hammock and listening to audio books. I also have a passion for succulents and photography!
I started my dental career in 2006 after graduating from Chattanooga States Dental Assisting program. After working as an assistant, I then furthered her career by obtaining my Associates in Dental Hygiene from Hiwassee College in 2014. I value forming relationships and bringing high quality of care to my patients and their families. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, gardening, beaching, and spending time with my family.

If you're looking for a new Dentist, look no further than Dr Pollom @ HGD! He's gentle, compassionate, nonjudgmental, & excellent at his profession. Office staff is very friendly & hygienist are amazing. Thank you HGD for a wonderful 1st time experience!

Dr. Pollum and his team calmed my anxiety of going to the dentist. After traumatic experiences when I was a kid, I feared the dentist and associated then with pain and pure misery. I let my teeth go. Now that I'm older, I want to fix my mistakes and start down a healthy path. My fiance found Dr Pollum and told me they he was perfect for helping you get over your fear of the dentist, and he was correct! I've never once been in pain, even getting shots, and he's very kind and accommodating. His team is very kind as well, is a very loving and peaceful environment- not to mention clean and safe due to the new covid guide lines. They always take your temperature when you get there, they're all wearing masks correctly. Ect. Highly recommend!

I needed a tooth pulled and went in for an exam. I let the dentist know I wasn't afraid to pay for a pain free experience, and there was a bad experience many years ago and the reason I avoided the dentist. He assured me I wouldn't feel anything uncomfortable. I came back in a week later and he took out both wisdom teeth on top and the bad molar. I drove back into the driveway an hour and a half later and was shocked at how easy it really was. I will not avoid the dentist any longer.

From check in to check out, my experience at Hixson Dental far surpassed my expectations on every level. I have been a patient of Hixson Dental Group for several years. I always receive excellent care. The staff is friendly, caring, and professional. Every visit is a good experience. Dr. Pollom recently fitted me for a bridge. He explained the process and answered my questions prior to the procedure. The bridge looks great, and I am very happy with it. I highly recommend Hixson Dental Group.

This office was aware of my mother's insurance company, didn't inform her they were out of network, did a cleaning, billed her for it, and turned her over to collections. My mother is elderly, on a fixed income, has dental coverage she pays a pretty penny for, and wouldn't have been taken here had they informed me they weren't in network. The billing manager informed me; "we don't disclose to patients if their insurance is out of network. They should check before coming here." The dentist that owned this practiceprior was in network. They bought the practice, solicited my mother to come to their office, had her insurance and records, yet never disclosed that they were out of network. Upon calling them, I was informed the bill wouldn't be written off, and she was the final word on this. This is a very dishonest practice. I've never been to a medical facility that didn't disclose their status with my insurance.

This was my first time at Hixson Dental and I could not have had a better experience. I never look forward to going to the dentist, but it was great from start to finish. Deb was warm and kind during the appointment process. Jennifer made me feel at ease during my cleaning. She was very informative and knowledgeable. I highly recommend!
