Born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Dr. Torey feels grateful to serve his patients with dental excellence and build lasting relationships in the local communities he knows and loves. As the forward-thinking visionary and owner of Hixon Hills Dental, making a long-term positive impact in the lives of his patients, team, and the environment is never far from his mind.He wants to see La Crosse and Onalaska families flourish with gleaming smiles while conserving the vibrant natural life of Wisconsins great outdoors and beyond. He considers the details big and small, looking after each patients needs with empathy and connecting with them on a personal level to achieve their best grin.Dr. Torey attended the University of Northwestern St. Paul where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and minored in Spanish, mathematics, and biblical studies. Blending his passions for business and healthcare, Dr. Torey discovered his dream career in dentistry and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. With an unwavering thirst for knowledge, he seeks to provide top-tier modern care for his community as an active member of the La Crosse District Dental Society, Wisconsin Dental Association, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.Outside of the office, you can catch Dr. Torey road cycling and trail running, cherishing the company of his family and friends, picking out his next new read, and cultivating a beautiful home with his wonderful wife one house project at a time.

Dr. Cooks hometown is La Crosse and he is the youngest of five boys in his family (there were no sisters). One brother became an attorney, one was successful in the business world, one was ordained a Catholic priest and one was a United States foreign diplomat. He had no desire to follow in any of their footsteps and chose his own career path. While at Aquinas High School (Class of 1974), he excelled at science topics and determined he wanted to become a health care provider and be his own boss. A private dental office looked like the ideal goal.

Dr. Cook completed is pre-dental school requirements at UWEC in three years. In 1977 he was accepted to Marquette University School of Dentistry and graduated in 1981. Not knowing where he wanted to settle into a practice, he joined the United States Navy Dental Corps. He spent 12 years on active duty taking the opportunity to experience living at six different duty stations (Camp LeJeune Marine Corps Base, Jacksonville, North Carolina; Naval Station Subic Bay, Republic of the Philippines; Great Lakes Naval Training Center, North Chicago, Illinois; Naval Base, Norfolk, Virginia; The USS Shenandoah AD-44, Norfolk, Virginia; and Naval Air Station, Brunswick, Maine). Dr. Cook also spent 11 years in the Naval Reserve right here in La Crosse before the Naval Reserve Center was closed. While on active duty, Dr. Cook completed a year of post-doctoral education in an Advanced Clinical Program in General Dentistry. The volume and broad spectrum of patients from his Navy career gave him a background of endless experience to apply to patients here in La Crosse. In 2003, Dr. Cook retired from the Navy with the rank of Captain.

Dr. Cook has used fly fishing for trout as an excuse to join with his brothers and extended family on the Brule River in northern Wisconsin. None of them attained expert status but the camaraderie gained from this annual family event will last in their memories forever. Dr. Cook and his wife, Patt, have been married 40 years and have two sons. Now, reunions with his family and traveling are treasured pass times.
