Toledo native, J. Eric Hires, DDS, received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University. Following graduation, he spent two years in the Navy, improving upon the skills he learned in dental school. After his return, he moved back home to start his career with one goal in mind to assemble the most talented team of dental professionals in the area and grow to become Toledos leading dental practice, a goal, that today, he can proudly consider accomplished.

Dr. Hires has attended post graduate dental courses at some of the best teaching venues around. He successfully completed all coursework at Misch International Implant Institute and also studied at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, LVI, where he received premier post graduate training in advanced cosmetic dentistry. In addition, he has completed literally hundreds of hours in Continuing Education courses in all aspects of dentistry.

Dr. Hires strives to continually improve upon the technologies used and processes employed at Hires Dental Care. He stays current with emerging trends in dentistry, assuring his patients receive nothing but the best when it comes to their smiles.

Dr. Shreea Handa joined Hires Dental Care in January 2019. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Michigan Dearborn and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.

To remain in step with current dental practices and technology, Dr. Handa has taken courses on implant, cosmetic, and aesthetic dentistry, as well as providing care to patients with disabilities and those of different cultural backgrounds. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Association of Public Health Dentistry.

Dr. Handa has been a Michigan resident since she moved to the United States from New Delhi, India. She enjoys spending time with her parents and her younger sister, who is a pre-dental student at the University of Michigan Dearborn. She enjoys staying active, and working out, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Handas other hobby is exploring new places with friends and traveling around the world.

Dr. Jaslynn Kalsi first joined Hires Dental Care in July 2017. After moving back home to Orlando in late 2018, she realized just how much she missed the patients and staff at Hires Dental Care and returned a year later. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Michigan. She attended the University of Florida for her undergrad studies and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology.

Dr. Kalsi spent two years at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry Comprehensive Care Clinic where she provided comprehensive treatment planning and dental care to patients. Her role also included internal rotations to the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Dentistry Emergency and Urgent Care Clinic.

Dr. Ed Pantzlaff is an experienced dentist in oral surgery. He spent four years at the oral surgery residency at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, where he earned his MD and published numerous scholarly articles. He is a proud graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and completed his undergraduate degree at Northwestern College (Iowa). While at Northwestern College, he was a pitcher on the schools baseball team.

As a devoted student, Dr. Pantzlaff presented the findings of his research at many renowned meetings, including those of the American Association of Dental Research, the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery, and the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

In his free time, he enjoys spending a lot of time outdoors with his very energetic dog going on hikes, and jumping in lakes and streams. He has a flair for cooking a variety of different types of food and is open to trying any new recipes. He is a fan of tailgating and going to football, hockey, and baseball games.

Karen has been a Dental Hygienist with Hires Dental Care since 1992. She received her Dental Hygiene certification and a Bachelor of Science in Education from The Ohio State University. Karens strength is her passion for patients dental nutrition and health, and making all of her patients feel comfortable and relaxed. Born and raised in Toledo, Karen has been involved in scouting, as a leader for more than 10 years, and is active in her church community. She enjoys her family first and foremost; but also enjoys gardening, snow skiing and is a huge OSU football fan!

Hires Dental Care has been lucky to have Carol on their team since 1990. She received an Associates Degree in Applied Science Dental Hygiene Program from Owens Community College in 1986. In addition to her degree, Carol is certified and licensed by the State of Ohio and holds a certification in Life Support and A.Q.P. Carol gets great satisfaction from helping her patients improve their oral health as well as their smiles. A Toledo native, she enjoys spending time with her family, serving as a cheerleader for her three children during their sporting events, and participating in outdoor activities such as rollerblading and tennis.

Ashley is a licensed Dental Hygienist with an EFDA certification as well as Local Anesthesia and has been working at Hires Dental Care since 2009. She is an active member of the Toledo Dental Hygienist Association (TDHA) and a graduate of Owens Community College. Ashleys college activities included membership in Phi Theta Kappa National Honors Society and volunteering many hours educating young children and adults on the importance of oral health. Ashley is committed to ongoing education and attends continuing education courses throughout the year to stay current with emerging dental trends. In her free time, Ashley enjoys playing volleyball, tubing, jet skiing at the lake, and traveling with her family. Her favorite part of working at Hires Dental Care: We have just as much fun together at the office, as we do outside of the office.

Sarah joined the Hires Team in November 2014. She graduated from BGSU with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and then graduated with Honors at Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. Sarahs hobbies include skiing, jogging, swimming, and playing both the piano and the guitar. She also volunteers for the Junior League of Toledo. She and her husband have two daughters, a beagle named Cinder, and a cat named Sadie. What she loves the most about Hires Dental Care: The friendly atmosphere and professionalism.

Kali officially became part of the Hires team in September 2015 as a dental hygienist. She has volunteered during our Stars, Stripes, and Smiles event and has filled in for vacationing hygienists since May. Kali graduated Owens Community College Magna Cum Laude with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. She is currently working towards her Bachelors in Dental Hygiene at The Ohio State University. She is a member of the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honors Society and has her Local Anesthetic Certification. She is also a member of the America Dental Hygienist Association and the Toledo Dental Hygienist Association. She also volunteers for Give Kids a Smile. In her free time, Kali enjoys spending time with family, hiking, gardening, biking, camping, traveling and cooking. She and her Goldendoodle, Macy, love to go for long walks in the park. One reason she is excited to work for Hires Dental Care: I get to work with a great team in a great office. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting!

Melanie joined Hires Dental Care as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2018. She studied at Owens Community College and most recently was a traveling dental hygienist in the Washington, D.C. area. An ADHA member, Melanie hopes to someday volunteer on a medical and/or dental mission trip to help those in need. When shes not working, Melanie enjoys kayaking, traveling, being active outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Jessica Jessie Galloway graduated from the Toledo Dental Academy in 2000 and later became a Certified Dental Assistant with specialized training in Invisalign, Implant Surgery, and Zoom Whitening. Fluent in Spanish, she is a wonderful asset to the Hires Dental Care team. Jessies hobbies include scrapbooking, rollerblading, watching basketball, watching movies, and baking with her son. Dancing and music are just a few of her other interests. Jessie has a true passion for her work and loves that it gives her the opportunity to make people smile.

Lacey joined the Hires Dental Assistant Team in June 2015. She graduated from Ross Medical College with a 4.0 GPA and received her Radiography License. She has several years of experience with dental assisting and has been a volunteer at Hires Dental Cares Stars, Stripes & Smiles event. In February 2020, she received her Certified Dental Assistant certification. Lacey also volunteers for the Zenobia Shrine. When shes not working, Lacey loves playing with her son, family boat rides, and riding dirt bikes.

Carolyn joined the Dental Assistant Team at Hires Dental Care on February 26, 2018. Currently, she splits her time between assisting and working at our front desk. She has a wealth of knowledge, having been in the dental field for 30 years. Carolyn received an Associates Degree in Dental Assisting, is licensed in radiography, and is certified in CPR & AED. When shes not assisting chair-side, you might find Carolyn hitting the links, crocheting, or working on a new needlepoint.

Makenzy became an official Hires Dental Care staffer on March 5, 2019, after interning at the practice. She received her dental assisting certification from Penta Career Center and is also CPR certified. Makenzy shares her passion for good dental health by speaking at elementary schools where she demonstrates proper techniques for brushing and flossing. Her hobbies include watching football and baseball, and babysitting. Ive been doing it forever I love kids! When asked why she was excited to work for Hires Dental Care, Makenzy said, I am excited to grow closer with this dental family and learn new things!

Kim previously worked for Hires Dental Care before moving out of state in 2017 and returned to the practice on October 3, 2019. Shes been working as a dental assistant for 11 years and holds a radiology license. Kim and her husband have been married nine years and have two daughters ages two and seven. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, running, shopping, and playing with her girls. Im so glad to be back I missed working with the wonderful staff and doctors!

Sha-Ron joined Hires Dental Care as the New Patient Coordinator on October 1, 2019. She has an extensive dental background that includes billing and coding, treatment coordination, and shes also a registered dental assistant. In her spare time, Sha-Ron volunteers by reading to children, spending time with her son and daughter, shopping, and vacationing. I am excited to become a part of a dynamic team with such knowledgeable doctors and staff.

Stephanie joined Hires Dental Care in February 2020 as the practices Treatment Coordinator. She obtained her Dental Assisting Certification and Radiology License from Ross Medical Education. Along with her dental assisting experience, Stephanie also has a background in front desk procedures for dental offices. When shes not busy working, Stephanie enjoys seeing new movies, playing video games, and spending time with family, friends, her boyfriend Neal, and her chocolate lab Duke. Hires Dental Care is one big family and patient care is number one to all of us. I am proud to be part of such a caring team.
