Dr. Andrew Hinkle is a native of the Washington DC area, growing up in the McLean community where he now practices dentistry. After attending Gonzaga High School in Washington D.C., Dr. Hinkle completed his undergraduate degree in Biology with a concentration in health care ethics at Villanova University. In 2011, he received his dental degree from the University of Maryland Dental School where he completed an oral surgery clerkship focusing on oral maxillofacial surgery and implant dentistry. Upon graduation, he joined his father, Dr. Alan Hinkle, in his established dental practice. In 2018, Dr. Alan Hinkle retired and Andrew has continued the tradition of a practice renowned for its integrity, comprehensive care, and devotion to the patients.
Dr. Hinkle continued his postgraduate education at the prestigious Kois Center in Seattle Washington. The Kois Center is a postgraduate didactic and clinical continuing education program with the goal of improving the lives of patients by providing dentists with predictable, evidence-based dental strategies that enable them to deliver the highest level of patient care. After years of education, training, and clinical work, Dr. Hinkle has recently achieved the level of Mentor at the prestigious Kois Center! In order to achieve this, Andrew attended 13 different courses learning how to deliver the latest advances in esthetics, implants, and restorative dentistry. In 2018, Andrew completed the course curriculum and was recognized as a Graduate. While this was an excellent achievement, Andrew did not stop there and elected to pursue a higher level of education and strove to reach the level of Mentor. Kois Center Mentors are graduates who display a thorough and working knowledge of the complex dental concepts and methods. By completing the requirements for mentor status (written examinations, oral presentations, and case presentations), future students within the Kois Program can look to Andrew for guidance and instructional advice as one of the preeminent dental authorities within the curriculum.
Along with his dedication to dentistry, service to the less fortunate is an integral part of Dr. Hinkles life. Providing compassionate care to all is a driving force behind his passion for dentistry. Dr. Hinkle has worked with Habitat for Humanity and has made numerous international service trips to Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and the Philippines. Locally, he volunteers at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic, a clinic dedicated to helping the less fortunate. Optimal oral health plays a vital role in each individuals well-being, and Dr. Hinkle considers himself privileged to be able to provide dentistry to those in his community and beyond.
Dr. Hinkle is committed to educating his patients, listening to their concerns, and encouraging questions. He excels in esthetic and restorative dentistry and is dedicated to creating individualized, gorgeous smiles. Whether it is general care, a smile makeover, or a full-mouth rehabilitation, Dr. Hinkle thrives on making people feel confident and empowered by their smiles. Through his use of state-of-the-art dentistry and a gentle touch, Dr. Hinkles patients enjoy beautiful, healthy smiles for a lifetime.
Anne holds a Bachelors of Science in Sociology and a Minor in Social Work from Radford University. She wears many hats around the office with responsibilities ranging from handling accounting, managing human resources, overseeing operations, answering phones, and (most importantly) helping patients. Anne says her work is rewarding because at the end of her shift shes had the chance to make a real impact in someones life in a positive, healthy way. She also loves establishing real connections with patients. Anne had been a patient at Hinkle Dentistry for nearly two decades. She really loved the office and the team. When our administrative position became available, she jumped at the opportunity! Anne decided to re-enter the working world after previously retiring. (Were so glad she did.) If she didnt have to work, Anne says shed probably spend most of her time traveling the world. She enjoys cooking, watching sports, and decorating the office for the holidays particularly Halloween and Mardi Gras.
Denise holds an Associates and Applied Science degree from Kellogg Community College. She earned a Bachelors in Health Management from Spring Arbor University. For nearly 30 years, Denise has been helping people have healthy smiles. During that time, shes come to meet and develop relationships with so many special people. Denise says its her patients and coworkers who keep her coming back to the office each day. She truly loves making her patients more systemically healthy. Denise chose a career in dentistry in part because of her own dental issues as a child and teenager. Correcting her issues had a dramatic effect on improving her self-esteem and that led her to a job in the dental health field. When you meet Denise, youll find that shes funny, a team player, empathetic, and outgoing. Shes the director of the Seattle Study Club. When shes not working, Denise enjoys spending time with her husband of nearly two decades and her teenage son. She also likes hiking with her two German Shepherds.
Adriana received her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene from Northern Virginia Community College. She has been in Dentistry for more than eight years and brings with her a passion for educating patients in the connection between oral health and overall health. She believes that regular preventive dental care can improve confidence and quality of life and shes excited to provide this level of care in her new dental home! As you get to know Adriana, you will find shes a thoughtful and caring person who is determined to provide the best possible patient experience, using the most up-to-date methodologies and technology. When shes not in the office, she can be found working out, hiking, exploring new local restaurants, and spending time with her boyfriend.3
Elissa has an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene from Palm Beach Junior College and a Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Florida. She has been a part of the Hinkle Dentistry family since 1990, when she joined as a Dental Hygienist. After 28 years of practicing with the Hinkle Team, she has retired from practicing dental hygiene, and has joined the administrative team as a Patient Coordinator. She continues to be kind, compassionate and dedicated to her patients. She makes a priority of really getting to know people on a personal level. When shes not helping patients at the office, Elissa is probably traveling somewhere interesting with her husband, a retired CIA officer (especially if there is a cruise involved). Shes passionate about cooking Greek cuisine and is an avid collector of vintage Hummel figurines. Elissa has two daughters; one a UVA grad teaching 5th grade in Arlington County, and the other a CNU grad working for Booz Allen & Hamilton as a government contractor and a photographer.
