ABSOLUTELY HUMILATED ME! I have been to this dentist several times with family members and also my own daughter. He has always been a very pleasant man, soft spoken, good bed-side manner so no doubt when I needed care myself I chose him! Being in the medical field myself I'm experienced in patients coming in "seeking pain pills." I have had a complete jaw fracture a few year back with a metal plate and screws to keep my jaw together, Ive lost 3 bottom back teeth because of it. Ive had many many procedures on that side of my jaw. I told him the history at the beginning of the appointment and that i was hard to get numb because of all that! Sure enough it took many attempts to get my face numb along with a block to numb everything from top to bottom of my face on that side. So he comes in and we start the procedure of removing a large chunk of tooth fragment left over from one of my many surgeries that has been infected and was sore to the touch! It has reopened an old space where a tooth once was and was coming out at an angle! This no doubt was very painful to live with day to day. So we start the extraction and it starts to REALLY HURT!!!! I HAD MY SHIRT CLENCHED IN MY FIST AND STARTED TO CRY! This man forcibly put down his tools and backed away from me and asked me if i was there form PAIN PILLS!!!!!!!!!! I was in shock!! Where did that come from????? In the middle of my procedure he stops and asks me in front of his nurse and anyone else that could hear if i was there for PAIN PILLS!!!!! I COULD UNDERSTAND IF U COULD GET HIGH OFF NUMBING MEDS BUT THATS NOT IT! I COULD UNDERSTAND IF I DIDNT HAVE A MEDICAL REASON FOR BEING IN PAIN like if I said my tooth hurt but had no cavity, break, or infection. I'd understand. But there WAS A REASON i was there!! The proof was black and white clearly visible to the eye! I did not dig in my gum and pull this tooth half way out myself so i could go get pain meds from the doctor! After I SWORE ON MY KIDS AND TOLD THEM TO GO LOOK UP MY MEDICINE HISTORY online that's availbale to doctors now to prove I'm "CLEAN", he took a breath and sighed and told his nurse to draw up more numbing medicine! When i told him where the pain was he snapped at me saying "he wasnt even by that spot!" Well again telling him i have had exposed nerves right there and thats where it has hurt the entire time but numbed everywhere else in my damn mouth he finally injected me RIGHT ON THAT NERVE!!!!! IT HURT LIKE HELL AND BY THIS TIME I BELIEVE HE WAS JUST BEING A JERK TO ME, but jokes on him cuz IT NUMBED IT!!! IF HE WOULD HAVE LISTENED TO ME THE FIRST TIME I WOULDNT HAVE HAD TO GET MULTIPLE INJECTIONS IN MY MOUTH! Also i have to pay out of pocket because i do not have dental insurance! I don't believe if someone was so desperate for pain pills they would pay $210 out of there on pocket for a "chance" on get them. Not every doctor writes for narcotics. Also i had no history OF pain meds given since my complete hysterectomy last year in which I didn't even get a refill on! It's CLEAR I WAS NOT SEEKING PAIN MEDS!! DR. HILTON COMPLETLY EMBARRASSED AND ABSOLUTELY HUMILATED ME!!!! HE NEEDS TO RELIZE THAT ALTHOUGH PEOPLE DO COME IN TO TRY TO GET PAIN MEDS SOME PEOPLE REALLY ARE IN PAIN AND NEED HIS HELP AND TO LISTEN TO HIS PATIENT AND IF THERE ARE ANY SUSPICIONS THEN TO DO A LITTLE RESEARCH ON THE PATIENT FIRST BEFORE HE STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF A PROCEDURE TO HUMILATE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ..... Everyone was so nice! Dr. Hilton and all the staff are very personal and wonderful to be around. From the conversations I could hear, they are not the type to cavity shame you! They are there to help and make you comfortable. I have only had a teeth cleaning but I will be going back!
