He moved back to Portland in 1997 with his family and starting practicing in Hillsboro in 1998.

Dr. Roberts enjoys performing all aspects of general dentistry, including cosmetic and restorative (filling) dentistry, crowns, bridges, dentures, oral surgery (wisdom teeth), and root canal therapy. He also places dental implants. He is a member of a dental implant study club here in Washington County and a member of theInternational Congress of Oral Implantologists.

We recognize that all of our patients are unique and deserve to receive dental care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented dental team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding dental experience every time you visit our practice.

Donna started working in the dental field in 1988 and joined Hillsboro Dental Center in 2019. She offers thorough and gentle cleanings, as well as preventive and maintenance care. A lot of Donnas time with patients is focused on education, as she teaches each person about their dental health concerns. She provides guidance to help patients keep their smile healthy and strong, for life!

Mindy finished dental assisting school in 2012 and joined our team in 2017. Working chairside, she assists the doctors during procedures. She also helps to ensure the back office runs smoothly, helping the hygienists, taking X-rays, sterilizing, and making sure patients feel welcome and comfortable.

When shes not at Hillsboro Dental Center, Mindy can be found with her best friend and spouse of 20 years, their four children, and the their cats, Golden Retriever, and rabbit. The family enjoys exploring the National Parks, relaxing poolside and on the beaches of Oahu, hiking, going to the movies, and rock hounding at the beach.

Tami started in the field in 1990. She has been a chairside assistant to a Periodontist, worked at OHSU as a Dental Research Assistant, and received honors for published data (PAVE). She has also been a Front Office Manager in Endodontics, Periodontics, and General Dentistry and joined us in 2011. She checks in patients, handles scheduling, collections, processing statements, assists with treatment planning, and sends recare reminders.

In her free time, Tami loves to hike with her lab, Stormy. They spend most weekends blazing a new trail or at the river for a swim or a paddle. Tami is currently learning White Water paddling with her partner and loves the thrill of the rapids! She loves living in the Pacific Northwest and exploring all the options and possibilities in the region. Fun fact: Tami plays the Native American Flute.

At Hillsboro Dental Center, we do more than work on teeth: Dr. John Roberts and our team care about each person who steps through our doors. We want the best for our patient family and are committed to providing dental solutions for a great treatment experience and beautifully healthy results.

This dedication to treating patients like family has resulted in us caring for multiple generations. Many patients who started seeing us as children now bring their kids to us, and were still seeing their parents, too! We cannot think of a greater honor and are inspired by their trust.

This place is amazing and I will be recommending to family and friends! the front desk is amazing and I can appreciate all the hard work they do especially under a lot of stress. The hard work and patience doesn't go unnoticed! Thanks so much!

Long-term patient who used to be a big fan. Unfortunately the dentists have changed, and they currently only have a single hygienist. They are rescheduling for months down the road. Clearly staff are also under a lot of stress or have additional training challenges, as they become rude on the phone when clients express frustration or confusion at the long wait. This facility has recently fundamentally changed compared to what it has been. Recommend looking elsewhere.

I've come here for years to see Dr Roberts, but since he left I saw Dr Shrivastava instead, and she was great. The got me in quickly, took some X-rays and pictures, showed me the issue with my tooth, explained my options, and gave me a referral for a root canal.

I have been here a couple of times for cleaning and wisdom tooth extraction, and had a good experience. Dr. Roberts and his team seem quite good at their job. He also thoroughly explains everything that needs to be done!

I am finally giving up on this place. My wife and I have been going here for years. The problem is not in the care but in the billing. I like to pay upfront for services and I do not expect there to be any further amount due. I admit I am not always good about going through the mail but that's because I am confident that I have taken care of my stuff. After my last trip in I paid at the door on the way out. Well, they have apparently seen fit to send me another bill in excess of $600.00. When I didn't see it in the mail they proceed to send the bill to collections. No courtesy phone call or follow up. They don't even seem to look and see that we both have appointments for our regular checkup coming up and we can discuss the bill then. I can understand getting things crossed up with the insurance once in a while or for a unique procedure but this happens EVERY time. Anybody know a good dentist with a conscientious office staff?

Definitely would not go back. Didn't feel like a welcoming place. Rushed in and out. No explanation of what was being done. Will take my business elsewhere. Plenty of others places to go.

While the dentist himself is great, the billing department was very deceptive and I ended up being charged several hundred more than what I was quoted initially. Dealing with them during a crisis like COVID reveled their priorities.

I needed an implant to replace a tooth that was in bad shape. No big deal until it came time to extract the tooth and the procedure resulted in having to take the tooth out in about a dozen pieces. The good news is Dr. Roberts handled the job smooth as silk and I had ZERO pain the whole time he was working on me. I would have expected the procedure to be a living nightmare but every time Dr. Roberts does dental work on me he is extremely cordial, explains what he's doing and there is zero pain. I couldn't be happier with the service I get at the Hillsboro Dental Center and my wife feels the same way about her dental care. Highly recommended!

I had a tooth emergency that my current insurance would not cover forcing me to pay out of pocket. Dr. Roberts was fantastic in working with me to accommodate my tooth need and finances with this situation. His environment is extremely friendly and welcoming. The work was excellent as well! He has a dream team working for him! Thank you Dr!

I strongly DO NOT recommend this office! Our family's insurance covers all routine preventative exams completely and has for decades. Though, friendly, this office insisted on charging extra for my preventative exam anyway after my appointment was done. When I politely inquired as to why, they told me that they have many patients with my exact insurance and that they always charge them extra. I complained to my MODA insurance company about it and they said the Dentist should not be charging me anything extra and that they would investigate them. Eventually, the Dentist sent a check back to me several months later. They later overcharged my husband after his exam. They are friendly, but greedy and not worth it!

I have worked as a Patient Care Coordinator at a dentist's office for a long time, and I have never experienced such poor service. I had a last minute cancellation on one of my prophy appointments due to a medical emergency and was rudely told by the receptionist that this was my second time missing my appointment, and that there is going to be a $50.00 charge for my second absence. Okay, sure I understand the use for a cancellation fee; however, I was not notified of the appointment that was made previously. I searched my phone for reminder texts or voicemails and nothing was there. I had no recollection of making an appointment, and upon confronting the receptionist with this she told me "We don't always remind our patients- it is a courtesy." Okay, well they made an appointment for me without my knowledge and told me I have to pay $50.00 for missing said appointment. I sent an email to the manager and never received a response. I now have a $50.00 bill sitting on my table with a threat of collections if I don't pay it. I have a feeling it may have been a mistake and the wrong patient was scheduled, or an appointment was confirmed on accident, and would be willing to discuss this issue with a manager, would he/she respond. They would rather shove me a $50 bill and lose my business. The dentists there are wonderful, but the receptionist and management is failing miserably. I requested my dental records and will be going to a better facility.

My son had an unexpected dental emergency, Dr. Roberts was booked and so was everyone else I contacted. I made an appointment a week out and prepared to manage the discomfort my son was experiencing, not good. The office called back and Dr. Roberts offered to take time out of his own lunch break to see us, he took care of the problem and saved us both a lot of suffering. Thank you so much for going the extra mile for us, we deeply appreciate it!

This is the most dishonest Dentist I have ever been too! During my cleaning they mentioned that they needed to do a "deep cleaning" for three teeth. I said that was fine, although no other dentist had ever done this before. The deep cleaning consisted of using the same tool they used for my other teeth for about 3-5 seconds longer for the three teeth. That was it. Nothing else was done. Then they proceeded to charge me $89 extra for the "deep cleaning" at the end of my preventative appointment. When my wife called to ask what the Deep cleaning actually consisted of they would not tell her. I called my Insurance company who said it didn't sound right and that they would look into it. Eventually the Dentist office had to refund part of my money. They also charged my wife an extra fee for a preventative exam that they should not have charged. They are friendly, but dishonest. You should check with your insurance company to make sure this Dentist isn't overcharging and taking advantage of you.

I've been going to this dental practice for 25 plus years and it sets the highest standard of care. The office is always friendly and comfortable. The people are great and really care about what they are doing. My experience has been nothing but positive.
