Originally an onion farm, Hillcrest Dental Center came about as the vision and desire of its founding doctor, Raymond G. Klockow, DDS. A local dentist who at the time ran a practice with the Clinic of Family Medicine, Dr. Klockow sought to establish a family-based practice north of Rensselaer that would be easily accessible to several communities in and out of Jasper County. In 1997 the practice expanded with a broader variety of services, including general, cosmetic and emergency dentist services, and longer hours of operation.

The upgrade resulted in a nearly 8,000-sq. ft. clinical facility, complete with 10 operatories, surgical suites, conference rooms, and impressive office space with state-of-the-art equipment. Following the renovation Hillcrest won the 2002 Excellence in Design Award from Tillet Construction (now Titan Construction).

As Hillcrest continued to grow, 2011 saw yet another addition of a third dentist, Jack Drone, DDS, a local county resident. Drs. Ahler and Drone now direct their efforts and energy toward providing comprehensive, quality care and emergency dentist services in one location close to home. The Hillcrest priority is to provide the highest standard of oral healthcare and beautiful smiles.

Dr. Ahler graduated from Indiana University in 1997. As a general practitioner, Dr. Ahler travels to and provides services for 5 regional care centers, 3 County Head Start facilities, Saint Joseph College and various local schools.

Hillcrest Dental would like to welcome our Dr. Jack W. Drone to our practice. Dr. Drone grew up in Gillam Township in Jasper County, and attended West Central Schools. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelors Degree in the Biological Sciences, and he earned a Masters Degree in Biology from Purdue University. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University and has been practicing all phases of general dentistry for 13 years. Dr. Drone, his wife, Jana, and four boys, Tate, Graham, Beck, and Merrick are very glad to be a part of Jasper County again, and they look forward to meeting and helping the patients of Hillcrest Family Dental Center.

Abby grew up in Rensselaer and graduated from Rensselaer Central High School. She then attended Ivy Tech for dental assisting, IUPUI for expanded functions, and Indiana University Northwest for dental hygiene. Abby joined Hillcrest in 1999. She is currently part of the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) and American Dental Hygiene Association (ADHA). She currently lives in Rensselaer with her husband, Scott. They enjoy being around family and friends, riding bikes, walking, running, and working in their yard.

Andrea Williams is a graduate from Tri-County High School (97). After graduation she worked as a pharmacy tech before starting at Hillcrest Dental as a dental assistant in 1999. She is passionate about caring for patients and helping them achieve their dental goals, all while making sure they take time to laugh. She has two talented children Havannah and Hayden who are the loves of her life. Andrea lives in Remington and enjoys spending time outdoors and with family and friends.

Diane has worked at Hillcrest Dental since August 1998. She and her husband, John, have been married for 31 years. They have two grown children, Matthew and Stacy. When not at work, Diane enjoys running, biking, exercising, and golfing but mostly spending time with her children.

Olivia attended Ivy Tech Community College in Lafayette, graduating from the dental assisting program as class president in 2015. Olivia grew up on the wonderful Lake Freeman in Monticello. She enjoys being on the lake with her friends and family as well as hunting, and fishing. She has two pets, Lucy her cat, and Koda her very rambunctious Siberian husky. Her passions in dentistry are creating beautiful, confident smiles while making patients extremely comfortable and at ease.

Athena Dickinson is a Rensselaer native and graduated in 1998. She married Andrew Dickinson in 1999 and they have 3 boys together; Ashton, Nathaniel and Reece. Athena and her family lived in Texas and Tennessee for the last 4 years and she worked for medical facilities filing insurance. She loves animals, especially dogs. She has a mastiff that always keep her on her toes. Athena loves to be outside doing activities or supporting her kids in their sporting events. When the Indiana weather turns cold you will find her baking or reading a good book.

Cayley grew up in Hobart most of her life and attended Hobart High School. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in May of 2017 from Indiana University Northwest. She got married in June of 2018 and now lives in Hebron. She joined Hillcrest in May of 2019. Cayley enjoys spending time with her husband and her pug when shes at home. She also likes to go to the gym, spend time outdoors, and spend time with friends and family. Her favorite part about being a dental hygienist is being able to individually connect with patients and to have a positive impact on their health.

A graduate of Rensselaer Central High School in 2005, Stefanie attended Indiana University Northwest with an Associates Degree of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2009. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association. Stefanie joined Hillcrest in 2004, and has been a full-time hygienist since 2011. She, her husband and their son reside in Wolcott, Indiana, and enjoy being outdoors, shopping, home projects and spending time with family.

Keely is a 2007 graduate of Kankakee Valley High School. After high school she attended Indiana University Northwest where she graduated with an Associates Degree of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2012. She joined the Hillcrest team as a dental hygienist in 2016. Keely resides in Wheatfield with her husband Matt, their 2 boys, and their dog Maverick. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends being outdoors and traveling.

Madyson graduated from Rensselaer Central High School in 2016. After high school she completed her dental assisting certificate through Dental Careers Foundation in Indianapolis. Her favorite thing about being an assistant is interacting with patients and being a part of such a great team. In her free time she likes to spend time with family and friends, attend sporting events, and relax on the beach.

Jill grew up in Brook Indiana and attended South Newton high school. She then graduated from dental assistant school in 2018 in Oklahoma. She and her husband, Austin have been married since the summer of 2017. They have a golden retriever, named Indy and enjoy spending time with family and friends. Her favorite thing about being a dental assistant is helping patients and being apart of the Hillcrest Dental team.

Bethany graduated from Ivy Tech Community College in 2015 with an Associates Degree in Dental Assisting and was Class Treasurer of her Dental Assistant class. She also has an Associates Degree in General Studies. Bethany and her husband, Ethan, have been married since 2014 and they have 4 children together; Brody, Bailee, Bryer, and Bensyn. In their spare time, they are at their children's sporting events or doing outdoor activities. Bethany enjoys sports, working out, being outside, crafts, and most importantly being with her family. Bethany says the best part about working at Hillcrest Dental is educating patients about oral health care, and working in such a caring and family-orientated office.

Lisa has recently moved back to her hometown of Rensselaer, where she grew up and went to school. She went on to Indianapolis to further her education, and got her expanded functions dental certificate at IUPUI in 2012. Shortly after Lisa got married to her high school sweetheart and now they have two beautiful girls! She enjoys spending as much time as she can with her family especially being outdoors and having Super Hero Saturday. Lisas passion with dentistry is to make patients feel at ease and excited about their smile.
