I was born and raised right here in Easton, so I feel a great connection to the wonderful community I serve, and consider all of my patients to be like family. From my fellow dentists and peers, to my dedicated office staff, to my wonderful patients who put a smile on my face, every day I am reminded why I chose to become an orthodontist!

I received a BA in biology from Syracuse University, and graduated magna cum laudewith honors from Phi Beta Kappa the nations oldest and most prestigious academic honor society. My dental school education occurred at the University of Pennsylvania, where I received my Doctorate of Dental Medicine.

I value the time I spend with my family, so when I am away from the practice, you can often find me in the company of my loved ones. My wife Rhonda and I have three grown sons, three daughters-in-law, three precious granddaughters, and three wonderful grandsons, I am very proud of my family, and welcoming new family members into my life is such a joy!

In addition to spending time with my family, I enjoy music, traveling, and raising thoroughbred horses. Music, especially the piano, organ, and singing ensembles, has always played an important role in my life, and I actively participate in a variety of music programs at my church and within the Easton community. I also enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and participating in their school activities.

Having grown up right here in Easton, I feel that being an orthodontist is a great way to give back to a community that has given me so much over the years. After graduating from Easton High School, I attended Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College), where I received a Bachelor of Arts in biology and graduated magna cum laude with Phi Beta Kappa honors. I went on to attend the University of Maryland Dental School, where I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery, graduated summa cum laude, and ranked number one in my class.

After finishing dental school, I chose to continue my pursuit of becoming an orthodontist. I attended the University of Maryland and received my certificate in orthodontics as well as a masters degree in oral biology. During my orthodontic residency, I was trained in the orthodontic treatment of children, teenagers, and adults with conventional braces, Damon Smile, and Invisalign. In addition, I served on the Cleft Lip and Palate Teams at Johns Hopkins University and Kernan Hospital.

I believe in the benefits of continuing education as a way to stay up to date with current orthodontic products and treatment techniques in order to provide the best experience for our patients. I enjoy going to various courses around the country and listening to world-renowned lecturers discuss the most up-to-date treatment philosophies through my professional affiliations:

When Im away from the practice, I enjoy spending time with my family. My wife Melissa and I met in high school and were married in 2003. Melissa is a pediatric hygienist and she really enjoys her job working with children. We have two sons, Grant and Chad, and we are also very proud parents of our cat, Roxy!

In addition to spending time with family, I love being outdoors and on the water, watching sports, cheering on my favorite teams, and playing golf! There isnt a sport that I dont enjoy! My favorite teams are the Washington Football Team,Baltimore Ravens, and Baltimore Orioles!

One of the goals of our practice is to support our local community. I am involved in coaching soccer, serve on church committees, and am the co-founder of the Talbot Kickball League, an adult coed kickball league designed to bring exercise and social interactions to adults of all ages.

Now, as an orthodontist myself, I enjoy the uniqueness of my patients, both in their treatment needs and personalities. No two days are ever the same! I love the fact that we can make a difference in peoples lives, how they look at themselves, and how they feel about themselves. Being able to see and interact with so many wonderful people in the community on a daily basis is one of the best perks of the job!

I continued on to the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, where I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery and graduated magna cum laude. I stayed there for my residency in orthodontics, and was awarded my certificate of orthodontics and a masters degree in oral biology.

During my residency, I had the opportunity to be trained in various treatment methodologies, including conventional braces for children and adults, orthognathic surgeries, the Damon Smile, Invisalign, and accelerated orthodontics, and I served on the Cleft Lip and Palate teams at Johns Hopkins University and Kernan Hospital.

I am very interested in new and developing technology, whether it be in orthodontics or just everyday life. It is always important to stay current on the latest technology and treatment modalities in orthodontics so our patients can receive the best care possible. I met my wife, Lindsey Faulkner Higginbottom, in grade school. We started dating in high school and got married in the summer of 2010. She is an administrative internfor Talbot County at Chapel District Elementary School in Cordova. Our daughter, Aubrey MacRae, was born in 2016 and our son, Miles Tilghman, was born in 2019. We have enjoyed being parents and looking at life through the eyes oflittle children!

Besides spending time with my loving wife and kids, I love to be outdoors and on the water. I got into photography while I was in dental school and I love getting out in nature and photographing all the beauty that nature provides. In the summers, I enjoy sailing and fishing, and in the fall and springtime I love to ride horses and hunt. There is nothing more peaceful then sitting in the woods in a tree stand and taking in natures beauty. I also love to watch sports, play tennis and golf, run, and bike.

I joined the practice in 1984 and am a certified orthodontic assistant. When you come to our office, you will find a warm, friendly, and fun team of people who genuinely want to get to know you. Our doctors treat each patient as an individual and our team puts our patients needs and best interest first. That is why I love my job so much!

My husband Tim and I have been married for 35years. We have three sons, two daughters-in-law, and fourgrandchildren. I am active with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cordova Volunteer Firemens Association, and at my church. My free time is spent with my family, reading, and camping.

I have been with Higginbottom Orthodontics since 2001 as a certified orthodontic assistant, and also am the practice bookkeeper. We have a great staff andwe enjoy our time together at work. We hope that our fun and caring attitude demonstrates to our patients that we have a relaxing and fun office. We pride ourselves on our efficient office and friendly smiles. My husband and I have been married since 1988 and live in Easton with our sonBrandon. Our daughterBrooke and son-in-law Josh live in Farmington, DE. My husband and I are looking forward to our next phase of our lives with the blessgins of grandchildren. I stay very busy helping my husband with our family owned lawn care business.I enjoy spending time with family, being involved with the local community and church events, and visiting the Amish communities in Lancaster.

I have been with Higginbottom Orthodontics since 2005 as a certified dental assistant. I enjoy watching the relationships our doctors and staff build with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Dr. Mark Higginbottom was my orthodontist when I was a teenager, and both of my daughters have been his patients as well. Now, as an employee, its fun to watch the transformation of smiles from a different perspective!

I have been in the field of dentistry since 1989 and joined the Higginbottom team in 2010. I really enjoy watching the changes in the patients, not only physically but emotionally as well, and take such pride in being a part of that. The power of a beautiful smile is priceless. As a former patient of Dr. Mark Higginbottoms, I know his patients are in good hands. Some of the staff that treated me are still here!

I became a member of the Higginbottom Team in 2014. In the time Ive been here, its been a pleasure to help patients feel better about themselves by helping to create a beautiful smile for them. The doctors and the rest of my teammates are very positive and helpful; Im so happy to work in a place with such wonderful doctors and coworkers!

I started dentistry in 2019 and became a member of the Higginbottom Orthodontic team in 2020. Dr. Erik Higginbottom was my orthodontist when I was younger and now I get a full hands-on experience on the transformation a patient experiences to their beautiful smile. I am very blessed to have a career with not only amazing doctors, but also to have a fun environment with amazing co-workers who are just like family!

I joined the Higginbottom Orthodontics Team in September of 2021. I enjoy meeting new people and building relationships with patients and their families. I take pleasure in watching smiles eveolve and each patient's confidence blossom as they go through treatment.
