Hickman Family Dental has the state-of-the-art digital radiography. This allows you and the doctor to have an immediate observation of your x-ray image. There is 75% less radiation with digital x-rays than with conventional x-rays. Intra oral cameras are used, which is a miniature video camera that displays a close up picture of the inside of your mouth to assist in diagnosing dental treatment. We have installed TV monitors in all operatories for your enjoyment and relaxation pleasure.

Dr. Brad Erickson was raised in Garner, IA. He received his undergraduate and D.D.S. degrees from the University of Iowa. Dr. Erickson has practiced in the Des Moines area since 1997. When not working, Dr. Erickson enjoys hunting, camping and spending time outdoors with his family.

Dr. Jacob Krehbiel was born and raised in Salina, Kansas. Growing up he enjoyed athletics, and played both football and tennis in highschool. He went onto the University of Iowa for his undergraduate degree where he played tennis for the Hawkeyes. Dr. Krehbiel furthered his education at the University of Missouri in Kansas City where he was presented with his degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2007. He worked as an associate at a private practice in Wichita, Kansas for a year before becoming business partners with Dr. Erickson. Dr. Krehbiel and his wife Erin currently reside in Waukee with their three children. His calming and considerate disposition, combined with his witty nature, makes him a gentle and caring dentist.

Julie is a Registered Dental Hygienist who has been with our office for 10+ years. Her commitment to dentistry is evident through her work, as she is conscientious and compassionate. She currently lives in Johnston and cherishes her time with family and adores her loving dogs. Julie savors time for reading, gardening, and being outdoors so she can feed the wildlife.

Zerina is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She attended DMACC and has been in the field since 2010. She loves spending time with her husband and family, enjoys traveling, and spending time outdoors. Zerina and her husband have a new energetic son and are eager to expand their family. Her Yuglosvian roots appeal to our many Bosnian speaking patients, who love her enthusiasm. Our staff admires and appreciates her helpful attitude and dedication.

Katie joined our hygiene team in 2021. She has been in the dental field since 2009 when she started dental assisting for her dad, a dentist in Paullina, IA. She graduated from the University of South Dakota with her Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2014. In her free time she loves to bake goodies, read, go on trips with friends and family, but mostly she loves to watch tv with her husband and her French Bulldog, Millie.

Born and raised in central Iowa, Becky has a strong commitment to her community and public service through healthcare volunteerism. She has worked in dental hygiene in both private and public sectors since graduating from DMACC in 2011. Becky also pursued further education and obtained a degree from Creighton University in Leadership Studies in 2018, which has helped round her skills as a born leader in the workforce and community. Becky has a passion for animals and has fostered multiple dogs through local rescue and felt great joy in helping them find their forever homes, including one in her own home! She has also volunteered for the Iowa Mission of Mercy during six sessions, among a variety of other public service events. When shes caught goofing off, youll likely find her hiking with her two dogs, trout fishing the beautiful streams, working out at Burn Bootcamp, running, or playing sports at Hawkeye Park in Ankeny. Becky is a real people person who loves getting to know the public and helping people improve their health and confidence through their smiles!

Megan is a Registered Dental Assistant who works by the side of Dr. Erickson. She graduated from Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo in 2012. She loves getting to know her patients and making them feel as comfortable as possible. Megan enjoys shopping, traveling, trying new foods, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Alena is a Registered Dental Assistant who works alongside Dr. Krehbiel. She has been an assistant since 2012 and appreciates building relationships with our patients and learning about their lives. Her favorite activities are shopping for clothing and unique jewelry, as well as devoting time to her family and relishing in a good BBQ.

Ajla is a Dental Assistant in training who is instructed by Dr. Krehbiel. She has attended two years of pre-requisites in hygiene at DMACC in preparation for a future career as a hygienist. Her favorite thing about working in our office is to meet new patients and build relationships with them. Her positive, upbeat personality is a great addition to our team. Ajla likes to cook a variety of different dishes, but her specialty is in Mexican food. She enjoys loving up her two chihuahua dogs and curling up with them and watching Netflix.

Sierra is a Registered Dental Assistant who works side by side with Dr. Erickson.She graduated in 2015 from Marshalltown Community College and has recently received her expanded functions education. Sierra likes to become acquainted with her patients and assist them with their dental needs. She appreciates the great outdoors by camping with her boyfriend and her Goldendoodle, Waylan.

Tami is our Office Manager and Invisalign Specialist. She has been with the office since February 2011. Tami has her degree in Psychology from Iowa State University and brings 20 years of experience in customer service. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, attending her sons sporting events, visiting her daughter at the University of Iowa, and traveling to the Carribean. One day she and her family plan to visit Greece to explore her husbands heritage.

Renata is our Patient Coordinator in the front office. Along with her background in customer service, she brings a positive attitude and a zest for life. She adores her dogs, Rocky and Lola, and spends her leisure time with family and friends. Renata relaxes by baking sweets and retail therapy, with an emphasis in shoe shopping.

Hannah is HFDs newest addition at our front desk.She is a Patient Coordinator that joined our team with 6 years of dental experience.Hannahs expertise in dental insurance helps educate our patients for a greater understanding of their benefits. Her goal is to travel to every state in the U.S., with Colorado being her favorite.Her preferred way to end the day is by taking a relaxing walk with her doggo, Bailey.

Patient presented with congenitally missing lateral incisors and she went through orthodontic treatment to create space for her missing teeth. She had beautiful teeth, however she was just short a couple teeth. After braces she had enough room to place implants to help restore full function and esthetics. We utilized a surgical guide to help us place the implants in the ideal location, then we did tissue conditioning to give the teeth the perfect emergence profile. As you can see by the end result, we were able to accomplish an ideal esthetic result with perfect function.
