Hello, I'm Chris Hickerson. I practicein Derby, Kansas, were I livewith my wife and kids.I want to invite you to my newly designed dental office where you can meet my skilled and friendly dental team, and experienceour comfortable and contemporary facility.
I am a Wichita native who attended Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School. Ireceived my doctorate of dental surgery, as well as myBachelor's of Science in Chemistry,at Creighton University, in Omaha, Nebraska. I have also completed a general practice residency atUniversity of Nebraska Medical Center where I had the opportunity to treat many patients with health compromises, including those awaiting organ transplants atthe Leid Transplant Center. After residency, I returned to Kansas and have practiced at several locations in Wichita, Haysville, and Derby. In my years following dental school, I have undertaken further training in endodontics or root canals; and orthodontics, including traditional brackets and wires andInvisalign.
Our dental assistant Amanda brings quite a skill set to our practice. She has two years of experience as a surgical scrub technician on the surgical team. Before that she trained and worked in cosmetology and her people skills really show. She grew up on the south side of Wichita. She likes to cook and is skilled at painting. You can see some of her work on our Facebook gallery.
After graduating from Derby High School, Maile obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Wichita State University. She enjoys getting to know her patients and likes knowing she is helping them take care of their teeth. When she is away from work, Maile enjoys spending time with her son, daughter, parents, siblings, and niece. She looks forward to family vacations with them each year.
Cassie grew up in Andover, Kansas. After graduating from Andover Central High School she went to Wichita State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. Cassie enjoys going running and spending time with her friends and family. Her absolute favorite thing to do is snuggle with her dog, Jasper.
Keeping things running behind the scenes with a diverse set of tasks is our dental assistant, Allie. She grew up in Derby. She likes spending time with her family, including her two sisters and two brothers. Typically she is busy with her husband and their two sons. She is an animal lover. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, painting/crafts, movies and going on walks.

I will be honest, I have had some pretty bad experiences at other dentist offices. I didn't expect how great this office has been. They are super nice, helpful, and friendly. I cannot say enough about their excellent service. I would highly recommend this office to anyone.

Dr. Hickerson and his staff treated me like I was family. The Hygienist, Maile, was friendly, thorough, and very gentle. Dr. Hickerson and his Assistant, Jenna, kept me comfortable and worked together very nicely. It was the first time a dentist gave me injections that didn't hurt. His work is excellent. The Front Desk Receptionist, Krista, was great in scheduling me and explaining things to me. Everyone is very caring and professional. I highly recommend their FIVE STAR TREATMENT. I will not go anywhere else for my dental care.

I will be honest, I have had some pretty bad experiences at other dentist offices. I didn't expect how great this office has been. They are super nice, helpful, and friendly. I cannot say enough about their excellent service. I would highly recommend this office to anyone.

As a patient of Dr. Hickerson and his entire practice am very pleased with all their services received. Excellent care and attention given to every detail making sure you feel comfortable. Each experience has been very pleasant and affordable. Give them a try if you need a new dentist or hygienist. The chairside assistant is also very good. You won't be disappointed.

Went in for a cleaning that seemed normal enough. The overall visit was good, until I had my review/checkup performed by the dentist himself and was made aware of a lot of costly procedures that he wanted to line me up for immediately including 4 cavities and the necessity to perform some kind of epoxy work. This hit me as odd as I've yet to have a cavity in my life and all of the sudden this new to me dentist has all kinds of things he wants to do. Since this visit I've been to two more highly reviewed dentists and not mentioned a thing about this visit. Not to my surprise there were no mentions of imminent cavities or other necessary dental work needing to be performed all the while going into great detail of my x-rays showing my tooth health and what warning signs one should look out for etc. Overall I am not pleased with my visit and will not be returning.

We love our dentist and his most wonderful staff! Let me begin with the office manager Sunny, she is just amazing! Such a friendly face with a warm personality! I called as a new patient and they were out to lunch celebrating their 5 year anniversary as a business and she called me right back! (That right there is awesome in its own) She is attentive and very good with my sons and I, and is just very down to earth! Now onto the dental hygienist/assistant, they are very gentle and reassuring if you have any worries or fears in the "chair"! I as an adult had my apprehensions and anxiety about being a patient. My hygienist Jennifer calmed my nerves and made me feel comfortable! She was very gentle and efficient at her job. Very helpful and she really listened to me. I will go to her EVERY cleaning! She also cleaned my 8 year olds teeth. My son has nothing but great things to say about her. She made my son feel comfortable and that says so much about her! She's great with adults and kids too! Kim assisted with my 2 year olds appointment was so sweet and really great with kids! She knew my 2 year old loved dinosaurs and she made my son smile and laugh with her silliness! She was just amazing! And last but not least, Dr. Hickerson, he is honest, skilled, and very comforting. He tells you what you need and where to begin. He is excellent at what he does and I feel he isn't trying to rip me off. Overall I am 100% satisfied with my care and will always recommend this dentist to anyone. Keep up the great work guys! You are awesome!

You know what's a shame? That a great dentist team is being held back by a vicious woman at the front desk. I've seen the woman make people cry before while being in there. I once called in to reschedule my appointment and she wouldn't let me do it. Dr. Chris Hickerson, please for the sake of your patients get rid of the elderly woman at the front of the desk.

If I could give less stars, believe me, I would. The old woman at the front desk is horrifically rude. Her first order of business is to demand money instead of speaking to you like a human being about your dental health. It's a shame, they should really fire her because the rest of the staff in the back is amazing.

I love going to this dentist and recommend him to all my friends. The lady at the front desk has been nothing but personal and gracious with all of my family though. I've called several tiles throughout the years and had to reschedule for certain things and she's always been nice and pleasant.
