Dr. W grew up in southern Idaho the youngest of 5 kids. As the grandson of a dairy farmer he spent much of his time raising cattle on his uncles land and tending to the apple orchard, garden, and yard with his dad.

His parents appropriately discouraged such barbaric activities and encouraged Dr. W to learn the finer arts and academics so he focused on school, art, and learned to play the guitar, violin and piano (thanks mom). As a result he developed a rather unique reputation as the hard-hitting, yet considerate, artist.

After high school class he attended BYU-Idaho where he earned a degree in Biology and Chemistry. He continued to round out his skill-set with diverse classes and activities before meeting his wife, a graduating nurse, who supported him on his way to dental school.

Dr. Williams earned his dental degree from the University of Iowa where he learned the true meaning of Midwest hospitality and has since wanted to pay that forward to everyone he meets. After a wonderful dental education he moved his family to Colorado to specialize in Orthodontics and earn a Masters Degree in science and a professional certificate in Orthodontics.

Since that time Dr. W has lived in Idaho, Oklahoma, and Tri-Cities, WA where he had been practicing orthodontics. He and his wife have 4 wonderful daughters (cest la vie to his football heritage). In spring of 2017 they had a boy Weston to whom he hopes to endow his love for football. Dr. W enjoys playing tea and story time with his daughters, watching movies and sports with his kids (if they let him watch sports), fantasy football, life-long learning, giving back to the community, and he and his family are very excited to be Spokanites for life.

Dr. Gerald Smith grew up in Spokane and is proud to be a third-generation resident. He began working in his fathers small business at age 7, undertaking every job from filling candy machines and janitorial to front desk customer service. Hard work and a passion for excellence and service were instilled at a young age. These traits have served Dr. Smith well in his professional career.

Dr. Smith is dedicated to creating beautiful smiles for each patient every person is a little different and every smile is tailored to their individual needs. If that sounds a lot like different members of your family, that is why we treat you like family!

His professional education began at the University of Washington with a four-year Bachelor of Science degree followed by a four-year Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors. He then completed his orthodontic residency program at the prestigious University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Dr. Smith earned a Master of Science degree and published his research in the worlds leading orthodontic journal. Dr. Smiths passion for orthodontics and his quest to provide the best possible care for his patients led him to become one of the top 25% of orthodontists to complete the rigorous requirements of Board Certification by the American Board of Orthodontics, the highest level of professional achievement.

What I like best about working at Hi 5 Orthodontics: I get to be surrounded by smiles all day long and it really does not get any better than that! I love that I belong to a team that makes happy the goal of every day, and that is contagious.

All it takes on your part is the Will and Want to make your teeth straight and well help you with the rest.

Invisalign uses the latest 3D imaging and computer technology to create your customized aligners. First, we work with you here in our office to diagnose your treatment and determine what needs to be done. Then, we take impressions of your teeth. Next, we send your impressions and your customized treatment plan to Invisalign, and they use advanced computer technology to finely calibrate a sequence of aligners for you. Depending on the treatment plan we develop, this could mean as few as 10 or as many as 30 aligners.

Youll wear each aligner for about two weeks, taking it out for eating, brushing, and flossing. As you replace each set of aligners with the next set, your teeth gradually move into the final alignment prescribed by the doctor. Office visits are required approximately every 10-12 weeks.
