Dr. Heywood went on to complete the highly regarded University of Florida Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program in Seminole, FL. This residency provided additional training and significant hands-on experience in all aspects of dentistry, including: implants, wisdom teeth extractions, root canals, bone-grafts, crowns, bridges, dentures, and bite adjustments. This program is affiliated with the world-renown Dawson Academy and Implant Educators which is one of the nations best implant continuing education courses. He is a current member of both the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Melea is our Office Manager. Melea has been in the dental field for over 17 years. She started out as a dental assistant with the intention of going to nursing school. When she realized how much she loved caring for dental patients, she decided to stay in dentistry full time after college, instead of pursuing a nursing career. In her free time, she enjoys watching ALL sports, especially college football! She loves spending time with her family. She also rides horses and is a barrel racer in professional rodeo.
Jessica has been a practicing hygienist since 2006 and loves what she does. She especially loves interacting and connecting with her patients. She lives in south Utah county with her husband Andrew and their 2 children. She loves spending time with her family, especially going on day trips around our beautiful state. She also enjoys Project Life photo books, board games, and football.

Dr. Heywood is the best! The practice is clean, comfortable, and organized. A while back I chipped my front tooth and went to Dr. Heywood to get it fixed. It's been years since he fixed it and it's still holding up like it never even happened. Dr. Heywood pays strict attention to detail in everything he does. I've been back several times and taken my family as well. He's great with kids. My young ones were nervous to go to the dentist, but Dr. Heywood was gentle and patient with them. Now my kids look forward to going back. I wish every visit to the dentist was such a positive experience. I had a crown cap pop off and called Dr Heywood's office for an appointment. I told the receptionist I'd like an appointment as soon as possible. She gave me a choice of the next day or if I could come in now the Dentist could fit me in. I got to the office in 30 minutes, the Dentist fixed the cap and I was on my way home. Great to have a dentist office that handle a last minute patient. Very friendly staff! I will use them in the future.

I have hated going to the dentist my whole life. Heywood Family Dental changed that. All of the staff and Dr. Heywood were kind, understanding, and did amazing work. Could not have asked for a better experience.

We have been looking for a good dentist for a couple of years and I'm so glad we finally found one. The staff were very kind and friendly and very welcoming. They got me right in and got me taken care of. Dr. Heywood is very personable and very knowledgeable. We will definitely keep going here

The staff go out of their way to provide a warm and calming atmosphere during cleanings and treatments. If you have anxiety about going to the dentist, I recommend this place. My encounters with Dr. Heywood and the crew are always very pleasant. However, I must make a special mention to Melea, the receptionist- she is truly a gem. I appreciate her kindness and engaging presence.

Everyone was so nice!!! They all were interested in what I had to say. They did a great job on my teeth and asked if there was anything I needed. They made sure I was well taken care of! Definitely recommend!

Dr. Heywood and his staff were EXCELLENT. The office is super clean and has a friendly environment. We took two of our kids here and they did incredible with their cleanings. Dr. Heywood answered all the questions that I had and even gave me really good recommendations for teeth hygiene and products to use. We are very glad we switched over to this dentist office.

Heywood Family Dental in Mapleton is the best! Their office staff is fabulous to work with-kind, patient, and very knowledgeable. I never have a problem with scheduling and they always let me know up front of costs and insurance coverage. They always make me feel like I'm the only patient. They are great with kids and adults of all ages. I always feel like family when I go in and feel right at home. I cannot recommend them enough!

This office is great! Everyone's so friendly; this was my first visit and my family and I will be going to them from now on. They let me bring my 6 month-old with me, which even most hair salons won't do, and offered to hold him when he got fussy! I'm sure they don't always do that, but it was so nice to see him have fun when it easily could've been rough for him just waiting. They were also willing to work with me and my insurance, even though we were out of network. I can't recommend them high enough. 5 stars!
