Dr. Hewell is a native of the Macomb area. She attended Fraser High School, received a Bachelors of Science from the University of Detroit Mercy, and then graduated from UDM School of Dentistry in 2008. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and Macomb Dental Society. Dr. Hewell is committed to continuing her education by attending various seminars throughout the year. She is always looking to learn about new techniques and advancements in dentistry to better serve her patients.
Dr. Hewell takes pride in getting to know her patients. She wants to make sure every patient is as comfortable as possible and has a positive dental experience. Dr. Hewell places a heavy emphasis on patient education and prevention. Her goal is not only to improve a patient's oral health, but also their confidence and quality of life.
Outside of the office, Dr. Hewell loves spending time with her family. She has been married to her husband, Gary, for 11 years, and they have 2 young children together. She enjoys yoga, spinning, being outdoors, and traveling to the Upper Peninsula.

So happy to have found this dentist! The staff are so kind and the office is very neat and clean! April was so caring and made me feel very comfortable. She was very thorough and gentle when cleaning my teeth. She definitely took her time and I didn't feel rushed. Dr. Hewell is just as wonderful. She took the time to answer any questions I had and is very meticulous. Although I have no issues at the moment with my teeth it makes me so relieved that if I do I know I will be in great hands!! It's hard to find a great dentist and I've definitely found mine!

I had a amazing experience. The staff was so kind and took the time to explain everything that was happening/ needed to happen. From the time i called and made my appointment with Sara I was kept in the loop and reminded about my appointment. Once i got to the office i was greeted and all my fears went out the window. April was amazing, she took her time and really helped me understand what was happening as she cleaned my teeth and what my next steps were and educated me on things that i Didn't even know i should be doing to take better care of my teeth. When Dr. Hewell came in she even took her time with me and was very informative, which i was not use to since the few places i have been before you only really see the person who is cleaning, and the person whos name is on the door is in and out. She took her time looking at my teeth and made me feel comfortable. I have found my new Dentistry home and would recommend this place to anyone looking for quality care.

I had an amazing first visit to Dr. Hewell's office today! The staff are all super nice and welcoming. My hygienist April was gentle and very informative and made me feel comfortable from the moment I sat down in her chair. She explained step by step what she was doing and going to do. Dr. Hewell is an amazing dentist and I am so happy I chose this office!

I have had a lot of dental work in my life and always cringe at the thought of having anything done until now. Dr. Hewell filled 3 of my teeth and it was the best dental experience I have ever had. She let the tools do the work instead of using force. If she was my dentist as a kid I wouldn't have always been so apprehensive. I highly recommend this office and her staff is very friendly.
