Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is an advanced, proven technology that provides more precise three-dimensional (3D) imaging for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of oral health conditions. 3D dental X-rays can uncover issues that may not be detectable with 2D X-rays. By making images easier to see, its helpful in gaining a better understanding of oral health conditions and suggested treatment.

Dr Lee and staff are the most caring and professional dentistry in the Herndon and Chantilly area. Booking appointment and checkin was smooth and the appointments were on time. They make you feel at home and Dr Lee explains everything in detail on your jaw and bone health ! I had the best cleaning in years and best hygienist in the area. They are the only in the area who take 3D scan of your jaw and bones ! Don't waste your time with any other dentistry if you are in Herndon and Chantilly area !

There's hope for my teeth after-all! I'd almost given up on trying to fix them, but they wouldn't allow it! They gave me a realistic plan of attack and I'm already seeing results! I cannot say enough good things about this group! Very technology focused, clean and extremely efficient too. Thank you!!

Dr. Lee did a great job explaining everything she was doing in a kind and empathetic way. The entire staff was super nice and welcoming and made me feel better when I was anxious about the procedures I had to get done. The office was beautifully decorated for Halloween and everything was very clean. Highly recommend!

Recently moved to the area and was in need of a new dentist. Dr. Lee and the entire team were great! They followed up leading to my appointment to make sure I was all set, had appointment times, brand new equipment, friendly staff...see you all again in 6 months!

I have a very complicated dental needs and visited 3 dental offices this year. The first one was in Jan. 2021 when I was promised of treatment plan options that never came after several follow ups, 2nd - insurance issue, 3rd and by far is the charm is with Herndon Modern Dentistry. My first visit with them was definitely a bliss. Dr. Lee and the Office Manager, Erika truly are a game changer for "Dental Care". Not only do they listen to you, (and believe me, I dont usually converse a lot as I am shy and I dont talk well as I write), they both picked up on my dental needs vs. my cost concerns. I've never felt heard in any dentist office I have been to, than in this office. I don't feel like I am being robbed for my dental care needs at all. The follow ups are impeccable. My treatment plans are still in progress but I am glad to switch over to this office under the care of Dr. Lee's team. They truly are a breath of fresh air.

I had a lot of issues (availability, duplicity, focus from the dentist and staff) at my last dentist and was lucky to stumble upon Modern Dentistry! Dr. Sung Lee is great with people; She explained everything well, even with my many questions and other medical issues, and was very patient due to my throat issues causing delays in the procedures. She proved her dedication to helping people in the one day I met her, so I already recommended her to a couple friends. Best dentist, out of four, in NOVA! Erika (the office manager, benefits coordinator, and front desk) was also amazing. Great communication skills and valued my time, so we were able to coordinate a lot of procedures into one day with Dr. Lee. The nurses were both friendly and seemed to genuinely care about me. It just added warmth to a day at the dentist (4 hours+), and is rare in many medical/professional offices. My old dentist took over a month to do half of what these ladies did in one day! They were flexible enough to help me without delay, and it was the best dentist experience I've had in decades!!

Like most, I'm not a fan of going to dentists but this office was amazing! This office has great a great supporting cast around Dr. Lee. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The assistants were very friendly and comforting to me. They made each task fun and that helped me distract my mind from being nervous. Dr. Lee was awesome! She explained every little step in detail and what to expect. I definitely feel at peace with this office. Highly recommend!!!!
