Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.

An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.

Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

Dentists are timely, nice, and good at their work.

Your survey comments It had been over 2 years since a visit due to Covid. The teeth cleaning was outstanding to get me current. The X ray evaluation and teeth status was also good.

I saw that this place did not have great reviews and I just can not understand why. I have never had such great experience at the dentist before. Every person was so sweet and comforting. I was extremely nervous for my root canal and they somehow made it a pleasant experience. Love this office.

I waited 60 minutes to get a 4 min X-ray and some 10 minute cleaning. It wasn't a great experience

Nice, but I'm severely disappointed. After crown failure that lead nerve damage and a root canal later that developed an infection, they refused to give refund. Endodontist told me she'd refund if the root canal failed. The dentist said "no," but I insisted after saying I now have an infection, and he reluctantly agreed. Afterwards, I called and the "manager," who refused to give the refunds. Had the audacity to ask why I wouldn't trust them with implants after 2 failed procedures (and he would be "nice enough" to use that money as credit). Also, he claimed they charged me for the onlay price and not crown price and mentioned I got second crown for free post-root canal (an investigation from insurance company ongoing about both. seems dubious). Things happen. It's not an exact science, I agree (which is why no malpractice). However, if something ends badly you should at least credit the person back. Nevertheless, nice in person, but do not care if the person develops something worse (worse tooth and infection), and money should just be thrown away by the patient (or invest more and more money into a hole with the same facility where the situation goes from bad to worse). Amazing that a lot of dentists feel the same way.

My visit was pleasant at first. I little problem with pulling out my tooth. I really liked my Doctor. But l was disappointed, he chipped my tooth. I didn't let me know till this day. I called my provider to change my dentist office. I wasn't going to post anything... But careful

Questionable billing practices. Even though there are raving reviews on Nextdoor. And here, too. You probably should know what the means. Make sure the "itemized" bill somewhat resemble the charge schedule from the insurance provider. Had to talk with insurance provider at length on two separate occasions on same procedure. Spoke to insurance provider at least a dozen more times on the promised refund. Still waiting, services rendered in January 2022. On one occasion, the insurance provider relayed this to me. One billing rep at the dental office said one thing, then another billing rep said something else with totally different outcome. Let's see if they will fulfill their contractually obligated responsibilities. Better yet, don't go there.

i haven't never left a reivew for anything before but felt i needed to after this experience. reception was pretty rude for no reason. seemed like a high pressure sales environment. they tried to get me to receive a root canal when I didn't need one. i got a second opinion and a simple filling fixed the problem. it was an awful experience and I don't recommend anybody goes here. they are scamming people for money

I have been coming here for a few years now and I am very thankful that I found this place! The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Dr. Oates has always taken great care of my teeth. Today he gave me a filling and it was so painless and went smoothly! Jasmine his dental assistant was so kind as well and made sure I was doing okay throughout it! Great team and staff. I trust Dr. Oates implicitly and I'm very thankful for his knowledge and how well he has always taken care of my teeth! And with Covid they have taken a ton of precautions to make sure that everyone stays safe when visiting the office!

I flew in from New York just to see Dr. Oates and had a terrific experience. I had no wait time, and the staff was incredibly friendly and professional. I'd make the cross country trip again for such high quality care and highly recommend him!

Similar experience to others...the turnover of dentists is HIGH and the level of concern is LOW. Another dentist left; they cancelled my appt and when I called to reschedule the reply was...we can see you in 4 months with a different dentist, MAYBE - because we might cancel again or the dentist might leave...

Don't ever go to this dentist. Had to reschedule an appt in Feb because of COVID reasons and their next appt they had was in May. They call me two days before my appt and cancel with me and say the next available appt they have for me is August. But somehow they can squeeze me in for a nightguard fitting just so they can take my money. Taking my business elsewhere. Thanks

Hands down THE best dentist I have ever had the pleasure of going to. Kind and gentle, very open and receptive to clients concerns. If anything is bothering you let him know and he will be right on top of things.

I'm amazed by this office and I share my experience with everyone when the subject comes up. I went there years ago on a whim without insurance and they were able to sign me up with an affordable insurance and guided me into ways to fund some expensive treatments that I couldn't afford upfront and had really bad credit at the time to top it off. They still helped me. They also have up-to-date equipment and machinery that looked positively futuristic from my previous dentist offices. They have a clean and almost spa like facility and layout. I started with Oates and love his work and personality, 10/10 sweet man. Over time I ended up seeing other dentists due to scheduling and every other dentist is just as pleasant and I've left very satisfied each time other than unsatisfied by my own dental hygiene. Receptionists are also efficient and super kind it's almost unreal. Over the phone or in person, they are there to help you and get you taken care of. Another great thing is they can make crowns in office and do root canals in office. I'm not sure if that's considered normal practice these days, but I used to have to drive way out to Torrance if I needed a root canal and it took 2 hours longer than the one I had at Hermosa Smiles. And crowns I would have to wait 1-2 weeks with a temp at previous offices. I don't normally leave reviews or ones in all this great detail, but they deserve all the praise! I'm moving to Texas in a couple weeks and they were able to find a branch of theirs near my new abode (without me even asking) and they printed me out a map and address! I left the office feeling so happy and relieved. One less thing to worry about when moving to another state. Thank you Hermosa team, I'm truly grateful I found you!

This place will rip you off. The staff is very unorganized and rude. They tried charging me for my teeth cleaning when it is suppose to be free. I checked with my dental insurance representative and they confirmed that teeth cleanings are included twice a year at no charge. I would never recommend this place to anyone!!!

Dr Naski is the best. She's very professional and friendly. She explains everything clearly before and after. I am always highly satisfied with her service.
