Hello, my name is Dr. Craig Longenecker. Thank you for your interest in learning more about me and my practice, Hereford Dental Health in Monkton. My passion for dentistry started at a young age. My father is a retired dentist; as a child, I spent a lot of time at his office observing and helping out. I always knew Id follow in his footsteps. In 1995, I graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School, a direct descendant of the worlds first dental college, the Baltimore School of Dental Surgery. Shortly after completing my residency at the University of Pennsylvania, I established my practice with the ultimate goal of helping people improve not just their smiles and dental health, but their overall health and quality of life.

One of the things I enjoy most about my job is getting to know my patientsand allowing them to get to know me. Youll notice my office is filled with photos of my wife and two young children. When Im not working, I enjoy hiking, cycling, and spending time with them. Volunteering is also my passion. I feel its my responsibility to give back to the Maryland community that has given me so much. Autumn graduated dental hygiene school in 2014 from Harrisburg Area Community College. She has been working in the dental field since 2004 when she started in the dental assisting program at York County School of Technology. As a dental hygienist, her focus is to provide high quality dental care and education about good oral health. She makes a continued effort to stay up to date on new dental technologies and hygiene products, and attends continuing education classes regularly.
Autumn is a mother of two amazing children. Her family spends a lot of time doing outdoor activities, and in her free time she loves to spend a little time behind the camera, capturing pictures of the kiddos and wildlife.
Agnes, a native of Pennsylvania, graduated with honors from Pennsylvania College of Technology, with a degree in Dental Hygiene in May 2017, and has been practicing in Pennsylvania and Maryland since. Drawn to dental hygiene by her parents negative experiences with the dentist, Agnes enjoys working with patients of all ages, backgrounds and especially helping to ease the fears of those patients with dental anxiety. Nothing makes her happier than when her patients leave the office smiling.
Brittany is from Hampstead, Maryland. Brittany loves being a dental assistant and helping patients maintain and achieve beautiful and healthy smiles. Brittany was drawn to dental assisting by her previous job responsibilities which made her expand her interest into the Dental field, Brittany enjoys working with patients of all ages and helping to ease the fears of those patients with dental anxiety. Our team is full of diverse and enjoyable personalities.

Amazing. Had a dental emergency and Dr. Longenecker made time to see me quickly. Arrived early. Was brought in early. Received outstanding care. Everything was explained clearly and concisely. Staff was warm and engaging. Even the parking was painless.

I am so glad I found this place! All the staff are super friendly, and Dr Longnecker is the BEST. He is so kind and gentle. I had 4 teeth filled and drilled with no tooth pain or pain from the Novocain needle, which I didn't know was possible! Can't say enough good things about this office, they really are the best!!!

This is such a great office. Everyone is so friendly and the practice is clearly focused on keeping current with leading technologies. They are great at explaining how the care works and the physiology behind it. Highly recommended!

I just left my appointment and I give my experience 5 stars. The staff is amazing, the service is first class, but most importantly, I felt safe. You are prescreened, your temperature is taken, hand sanitizer, masks are worn, yet by the time your appointment is complete, you don't even remember the safety measures taken. It's a smooth, safe and a customer friendly experience. May 28th. Doug Simpson

Hereford Dental Health is excellent. They are reassuring and informative on all procedures that need to be done. I have always appreciated Dr. Longenecker and the whole staff over the past 10-15 years I've gone; they make going to the dentist a whole lot more enjoyable! I trust them completely with my dental health. Especially since they keep up to date technologically and health-wise, regarding the pandemic.

This was the first time in my life that I have gone to a dentist and completely enjoyed my experience. They took precautions with the current climate which made me feel comfortable in my experience. Agnes the hygienist that worked with me was very informative and explained everything she was doing which I appreciated. Dr. Craig was awesome and super friendly. Overall, a wonderful experience, I highly recommend.

To anyone in the Hereford Zone, you should make Craig Longenecker your primary dentist! I grew up in Hereford, but have since lived in Annapolis and Baltimore City. I've changed all of my other primary doctors so that it is more convenient for me, but every 6 months I still drive back to Hereford because of the excellent and philanthropic hometown service that Craig Longenecker's office provides. Their staff makes me feel like I'm right at home.

The staff and Dr Longenecker are proficient and thoughtful. They do their jobs well and share their knowledge about dental health in an accessible way. I have never felt any pain over the many years of entrusting them with my dental care.

Cannot say enough good things about Hereford Dental. Everyone is friendly, the appointments are always running on time, and the atmosphere is comfortable. During exams and procedures they are always very attentive to your comfort level. I also bring my 5-year old son here. He's in a wheelchair and can't sit in the dental chair, so every time we go they rearrange their whole setup so he can get his cleanings from his wheelchair. We moved 2 years ago and still drive almost 45 minutes to come here because they are great. Highly recommend!

The environment is very comfortable and friendly. You have the complete attention of the staff while you are there. Dr Longenecker is very knowledgeable and encouraging. When I leave, I feel very content that it was a great visit.

Hereford dental is by far the best place to go for a pain free, anxiety free dental experience. I use to have terrible anxiety when going to the dentist. The first time i went to Dr. Longenecker in 2010, i knew i had found my dentist that i always wanted. He is very gentle and is the absolute best at giving needles. He takes his time and i never feel them at all. I give him all the credit for ridding me of my anxiety of dental visits. My hygienist Donna is also very gentle and knowledgeable. She has been cleaning my teeth for 41 years. When my previous dentist retired, i ran into her at Wegmans one day and she told me where she was working and that led me to Dr. Longenecker. I am so thankful i ran into her that day! The waiting room is very cozy and relaxing, not like the usual sterile waiting rooms. It's like sitting in a log cabin living room. You are always greeted with a warm greeting and smile from Angela when you arrive for your appointment. She always does a great job at answering any questions you might have about your bill, and even has my claim information sent to my insurance company before i leave the office. I want to also mention Danielle. She is Dr. Longenecker's dental assistant. She always makes you feel relaxed and does a great job also. I haven't met the new hygienist yet, but i'm sure she is as wonderful as the rest of them.

Very friendly. Very clean. Advanced technology (using cameras and vivid color monitors) to show me what's going on in my mouth. Very patient-focused. AND, the most striking feature of every visit it that I LEARN several new facts about my teeth, gums, oral care, treatment modalities, options for updating old fillings, bite guard,..my father-in-law even got relief from his neck pain from Dr. Craig!
