What I absolutely love about my job is working directly with patients and running a business that people love to visit. To me, what makes the difference between an okay visit and an exceptional experience is customer service. That means treating every patient like theyre my own child. I want to make sure we work in a way that makes our patients feel heard and comfortable.
Originally from Red Bud, Im the daughter of Dan and Julie Hentscher and sister to Cori Hentscher-Schmuke. Now Columbia is my home, where I live with my husband Scott, our 2 sons, Tyler and Rhett, and our 2 Boston Terriers. When Im not at work, youll find me spending time with my family! We love to spend time at the Lake of the Ozarks or cheering on the Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, and Blues.
As a woman leader in our community, its important to me to be active in groups that support other women like CROWN (Columbias Resourceful Organization of Women Networking) and GLOW (Great Ladies of Waterloo), as well as the Chambers of Commerce for Columbia and Waterloo.
I love making a difference in the lives of neighbors and members of our community through the art and science of orthodontics. Being able to improve a persons oral health and increase their self-confidence by creating a beautiful smile for them, all while building a strong relationship, is rewarding and fulfilling. I enjoy all aspects of my work, but the friendships that develop make me look forward to coming to work in the morning. I know Im going to have fascinating conversations with amazing people, all while improving their lives.
During my residency, I had the opportunity to care for a wide array of orthodontic patients. I worked with the cleft palate and craniofacial team at Childrens Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. After completing my formal education, I immediately started to pursue continuing education offerings through numerous meetings, lectures, seminars, and hands-on demonstrations.
We take the time to make sure little ones and children with special needs feel safe, comfortable, and loved. But regardless of your age, we think you deserve our teams undivided attention. Youre important to us!

Dr. Jodi and her staff are awesome! They are great with children and put my daughter and I at ease when visiting for an appointment. They are always accommodating for scheduling, provide great care, and I wouldn't send my child to anyone else!

I love my Insignia custom braces and the progress I have had with them. The doctor and staff is a lot of fun and couldn't be nicer! I highly recommend this office to all ages.

Every visit is a great visit! The staff is always welcoming and the appointments are smooth and running on time. During the visit, the staff explains each procedure so that the parents are in the know but also so that the children understand and feel comfortable. Additionally, I love how my children are talked to so as to be a part of the decision-making process as well. My three children love coming to see Dr. Jodi and her staff!

We couldn't be happier with Dr Jodi & her staff!!! We knew when we walked in and met with Dr Jodi this was the place for my daughter. We had a couple other consultations before going here. Well worth the drive to have the BEST care!
