Dr. Luke Henn received his Bachelor of Arts fromFranklin College. He was accepted intoIndiana University School of Dentistrya year early, and went on to earn his Doctorate in 2001. Dr. Henn proudly served as a dentist in theUS Navyduring Operation Iraqi Freedom and after as a dentist in private practice. While practicing, he continued his education and received his orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedic specialty training and Masters degree atIU. He has worked as an orthodontist since. Dr. Henn is a member of numerous dental and orthodontic associations. He has enjoyed every minute of his dental career, and feels lucky to be in a profession he loves.
In his free time, Dr. Henn likes to have fun! His favorite thing to do is spend time with his family, his amazing wife, Chace, 3 young daughters, Hayden, Ainsley and Emerson, and their crazy dog, Molly. He also enjoys reading, coaching his daughters teams, playing golf, watching football and making people laugh.

Like choosing the right doctor, choosing the right treatment option can be confusing. There are many options and many opinions available online and when you speak with friends. Knowing which one is right for you and your family is one of the most important decisions you can make because it can have a lifetime of impact.
Dr. Henn used to treat with traditional braces (old-fashioned) and quickly realized that he will never go back to those ways. Self-ligating treatment from Dr. Henn is more comfortable and requires fewer office visits, but what really sets this approach apart is that its treatment without tightening.

Our technology has changed the way we can treat orthodontic patients today. The revolutionary system we use utilizes a unique passive self-ligating bracket, and very light forces to achieve results beyond previously conceived expectations. Orthodontic treatment is now less time consuming and more comfortable than ever before. There is a general misconception that all braces and orthodontic treatments are the same. With all the options available today, it is more important than ever to carefully select what type of braces and technology are used. Our innovative technology not only helps produce beautiful smiles and straight teeth, but allows Dr.Henn to enhance facial changes as well. We have never before had such an influence on the bone and soft tissues that support and surround the teeth.
Traditional orthodontic therapy involves tying in archwires with colored elastics or small stainless steel wires thus a tightening. This can bind up the archwire and cause the teeth to move at a slower rate or in an unwanted direction. Heavy forces must be applied to overcome inherent friction in the traditional bracket system. These heavy forces can overpower or crush the very delicate underlying blood vessels cutting off oxygen and nutrients. This can be more painful, actually slow down tooth movement, and lengthen the time of treatment. For years, the traditional thinking was that heavy forces based on what a patient could tolerate were needed to move teeth.
Traditional braces use colored elastics to hold on to the archwire. Research shows these elastics hold much more bacteria around the tooth than the newer self-ligating brackets that we use. The elastics also have to be changed more frequently because they wear out and become stained over time. Self-ligating brackets have a unique sliding door instead of colored elastics to hold the wire, and thus can require fewer adjustments. The light force, high-technology wires can continue to work for a longer period of time. This means fewer office visits than with conventional braces. We want to make your treatment as comfortable as possible and fit easily into your busy schedule.
Amazingly, patients of all ages are enjoying more comfortable treatment in far less time! And people all around the world are experiencing startling transformations of the face and the smile that have never been seen before. Patients are experiencing treatment far different than they would have with traditional braces. Dr. Henn was wonderful at explaining everything to my daughter. She was able to follow all of his instructions. I loved the fact that he has evening hours. We were able to make every appointment without having to miss school or work.

My 8 year old needed braces to correct her overbite. She is not fond of the dentist in general but Dr Henn was so kind and patient with her! The results were amazing, the cost was reasonable and scheduling appointments was so easy. I would never go anywhere else for orthodontics.

Dr. Henn did a great job with my son and daughter's braces. They only had to wear them a little over a year before they were in retainers. This was true for both of my kids. Very fast and effective treatment! Highly recommend!
