Dr. Henick is a Diplomat on the American Board of Orthodontists, a status attained by less than 20% of orthodontists in the US. He received his BA from Washington University and went on to obtain his DDS from New York University College of Dentistry. He completed his orthodontic residency at Fairleigh Dickinson University Dental School. He has served as the President of the Fairleigh Dickinson University Orthodontic Alumni Association twice. He has been in private practice since 1982.
Dr. Doug received a BS from George Washington University in 2010. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He received his DMD in 2014 and did his specialty training in Orthodontics at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. While there, Doug also received his Masters of Science degree and published his thesis on the effectiveness of Invisalign on deep bite correction in adults. He is a certified Invisalign provider.

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that does away with hardware, wires, brackets, and bands. Instead Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable plastic trays called aligners to straighten teeth. The clear aligners sit directly on the dental arch, are virtually invisible when worn, and are easily removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing.
The aligners are worn about 22 hours a day, and are only taken out when needed. Each set of aligners is worn for about 1-2 weeks before moving to the next set. With each new pair of aligners, the teeth move closer to their final alignment for a beautiful smile.
Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces used among teens and adults. Traditional braces have become more comfortable today than ever before. Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth using metal brackets and archwires. Braces are fixated to the front of the teeth using a special dental composite. With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.
Ceramic (clear) braces are the same treatment as traditional metal braces, with one major difference. Instead of stainless steel, the brackets of clear braces are made from transparent ceramic that blends in with the color of teeth. This makes the braces far less visible to observers, minimizing their impact on your appearance and lifestyle. No need to worry about having braces for photos or important social events.
Lingual braces are similar to traditional metal braces in that the brackets and wires are installed in the mouth and on the teeth to fix misalignments. Lingual braces differ from traditional metal braces because they are almost entirely invisible. They are placed on the back of the teeth facing the tongue, rather than the front of the teeth. Lingual braces allow for a more discreet option for orthodontic patients not willing to wear traditional braces for a lengthy amount of time. Lingual braces are great for teens and adults, especially those who play any wind instruments.

I got my braces put on almost two year ago and every visit I had the staff was super friendly and kind. It was a perfect experience for me and I 10/10 recommended everyone to go here. It was easy for them to work around my busy schedule with sports to find an appointment id be able to go to. Great service and I highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic in every sense of the word.. when it comes to dr.Doug Henick he is definitely one of the best orthodontist.. I was so apprehensive and kind of scared at the same time but he made me feel comfortable and relaxed Dr.Doug Henick let me know that I was in great hands .. He is A (PROFESIONAL) his work is (phenomenal )like I said I have nothing but praise.. awesome staff in everyway they are so warm and very welcoming.. I really enjoyed the time spent receiving treatment at Henick Orthodontics. Before the start of my treatment, I had no doubt in my mind that I would have the best experience. The staff is super friendly and made me feel so so comfortable! I would like to enter into a dental career field in the future and Dr. Henick mirrors what I would want to be as a professional: kind, super knowledgeable, and dedicated to his craft! His professionalism and kind manner are much appreciated! I'd come in with several questions about teeth in general or about the progress of my treatment and I'd always leave with those questions answered! From the moment you step into the office, Dr. Doug Henick and his team make you feel right at ease! Dr. Doug Henick made me feel very comfortable and welcomed at each and every one of my visits. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his work. I feel very lucky to have such a great staff taking care of my pearly whites :)

What I noticed most about Dr. Doug is how he spends *actual time to listen* to you *first*, before just going to procedural work; it's an individualized, customized experience there. It's NOT small talk --> operation --> payment. That's probably the thing I noticed most-- right off the bat. Dr. Doug is exacting but also easygoing-- a hard balance to find in any doctor, let alone an orthodontist. And while it's clear from listening to him that he's highly intelligent, knowledgeable, and up-to-speed on the latest with developments in his field, he doesn't come off as pretentious at all. More than that, he doesn't do what so many docs do which is basically the m.o. of "my way or the highway" with procedures. He provided multiple options for me-- he was most concerned with my being comfortable on every last detail of the process to the final result. His whole demeanor is relaxed and humble-- also, given his younger age, he seems to spend more time and attention and takes a more vested interest and pride in his work. Highly recommend-- truly special doc. This is a top-tier practice.
