Dr. Mac Hendrix was born and raised in Hartselle, Alabama, and graduated from Hartselle High School in 2010. While at Hartselle, Dr. Hendrix played both baseball and football and was a part of the 2009 and 2010 state championship and state runner-up baseball teams.
Following high school, Dr. Hendrix attended the University of Alabama, majoring in chemical engineering. Throughout his tenure at Alabama, Dr. Hendrix was involved with Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ), where he led worship and was involved with multiple local and overseas mission trips.
After his undergrad education at Alabama, Dr. Hendrix attended dental school at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. While in dental school, he was elected by his classmates to serve as class president all four years. He graduated from there in 2018.
Dr. Hendrix decided to further his education by attending a residency in general practice at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. During this residency, Dr. Hendrix received advanced training in oral surgery, dental implants and endodontics, along with aspects of general dentistry such as crowns, bridges and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Hendrix continues his involvement with academics as an associate professor at UAB. He instructs third and fourth year dental students in their clinical training.
Dr. Hendrix is married to Emily Powell of Vestavia Hills, and they welcomed their first child, Eliza, in May of 2021. Together, they enjoy hiking, traveling, good food, and Alabama football. They are members of First Bible Church in Madison where they serve with the childrens ministry. They love getting to live and serve in the community of Hartselle!
I got into the dental field shortly after high school as an assistant. I quickly fell in love with dentistry and decided to go to hygiene school to become a hygienist. I have worked as a hygienist for the majority of my time in the dental field. Being an office manager is a new role for me, and I have loved every minute of it! Having worked in a lot of different roles throughout my career, I can truly say that our team here at Hendrix Dental is the best of the best. I am so lucky to get to work with such great people and patients!
I first started my career in dentistry in 2007 when I finished the ADHP program for dental hygiene in 2010. I have been the hygienist here with Dr. Hendrix since 2018. I love the relationships that I have built with our hygiene patients here. I truly feel like they are part of my family!
My life outside of dentistry consists of spending time with my best friend and husband of almost 20 years, Kevin. Together, we have two boys, Brayden and Jaxon. Our hobbies include watching our boys play baseball, going to the beach and watching Alabama football.
I started working in dentistry in 2020 when I decided to go to school to become a dental assistant. Dr. Mac and the team here at Hendrix Dental has made the transition into a new career field so seamless! I truly love what I do, and I am grateful for all the ways we can help people here at our office.
I have been in the dental field for a while, and I truly love what I do. Working at Hendrix Dental has basically given me a second family to get to know and love. Our team and our patients here are the best of the best, and I am so blessed to get to work here!
At Hendrix Dental, we are committed to investing in technology to better serve our patients. For example, our 3D cone beam technology allows us to see problems from every angle and arrive at the most accurate diagnosis. Our intraoral scanner makes impressions more comfortable and more accurate. Our patients even agree, ..state of the art equipment that helped with my diagnosis. Better diagnoses lead to better results which lead to happier patients. As part of our commitment to excellence, we invest in technology because we care about the work that we provide and the health of our patients.
One of the most rewarding things we hear patients say is, I felt like you really cared about me. All too often the dental experience is characterized by impatience from the staff or doctor, ignoring your concerns and needs, and judgment about your oral health. That is not the case at Hendrix Dental. We strive to make patients feel welcome and cared for from the minute they call our office to the time they walk out the door. We recognize that before you are a dental patient, you are a person. And as a person that comes to our office seeking dental care, we promise to treat you with respect, with care, and with compassion.
