I grew up in Louisa, Kentucky, and attended Eastern Kentucky University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology in 1976. I obtained my Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1983.

Following dental school, I practiced general dentistry in rural Kentucky for 14 years. During that time, I realized I really enjoyed working with children and the importance of establishing a dental home and good oral health habits at an early age. I decided to further my education, this time at Indiana University School of Dentistry, where I completed a rigorous two-year pediatric dental residency from 1997 to 1999.

My residency included in-depth training at the Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. Throughout my specialty residency, I learned how to address the unique and sometimes complex dental needs of infants, children, teens, and individuals with special needs. In addition to tooth development and clinical aspects of a growing mouth, I also received advanced education in behavior management and modification.

In the more than 20 years I have practiced pediatric dentistry, I have approached each patient with the same thought: If this was my child, what would I do to help them? How can I make sure they feel safe, so they know they are heard and valued, and how best can I teach them why oral health is important and how to keep their teeth and gums clean and healthy?

That patient-centered approach is a constant in our office. Seeing how each child responds when they realize they are in a secure space and have the full attention of our staff and myself, is incredible. When a kid feels at home, they associate us with positive things, and that allows us to teach them how to keep their smile healthy. Preventive dentistry is my passion and its the main focus of my practice.

One of the most exciting aspects of pediatric dentistry is the constant advancement that results from ongoing research. I regularly complete continuing education courses, and attend meetings, seminars, and lectures, in order to stay current on the latest options, new restorative techniques, and emerging trends.

Im an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Indiana Dental Association. Im also past president of the Indiana Society of Pediatric Dentistry. These organizations present numerous opportunities for me to learn from the leaders in general dentistry, and the pediatric specialty, and I take advantage of each.

Tricky place to assess! We took our 2.5 yr old for his first visit and ran into issues. First they couldn't locate our Insurance which created some delays then they provided an "Exam" that consisted of our son opening his mouth for a quick visual inspection. No sitting in the chair to get familiar with the light and utensils, no getting comfortable with opening his mouth, no brushing, flossing, no anything. Just a pat on the knee to say "your teeth look great"!? Not sure what we paid for here, but after calling to discuss it they say this is their process. We were certainly expecting a bit more effort and certainly not just a quick look from Mom's lap. Advice for the future would be to prepare the parents on what to expect during there first visit...

Love this place! Every one in the office is so informative, we've been with Bozic for 5 years. Recently had to change jobs and wait for new insurance. Decided time to switch dental provider. They treat you like family. What dentist give you his personal number to text Incase of an emergency.... Wow Thank you Dr. Wells. Very impressed.

Took my 10 month old to her first appointment. I was a little nervous because she doesn't like people messing with her mouth. The entire staff was so welcoming and was so sweet to my baby. Dr. Wells was so gentle and took his time. My baby didn't even fuss one bit! Thank you for the kindness and hospitality today!

Worst care. I have 5 children and have been to many dentists. The office and the staff were terrible. All they want to do is pull teeth. Stay away.

Overpriced - no discounts for those without insurance. No estimates given before the exams. Poor explanation (if any) of exam results and wanted to crown 2 baby teeth on 2 separate appointments that they only schedule during school hours. Found another dentist the next day for a second opinion. So glad I did. I do not recommend this office at all. Have had poor experiences with rude person when checking out before in the past there too.

Took my kids to see Dr Wells few years back bc of reviews and it was close. The receptionist was not personable most visits. The dental hygienists were outstanding! I got a funny feeling when parents weren't allowed back during their small kids procedures. I had one child that had anxiety and they had me come back one time only to show me how to use this appliance. My son felt like this appliance was causing nerve pain in his mouth and was crying ( he was 8) so when dr wells came in to take it out he yelled at my son " you stop that right now !" I was in such shock that he yelled like that . I should have spoken up but we never went back. If he yelled like that while a parent was back there it made me wonder how he was when we weren't.

After a terrible visit at a previous dentist (not wanting to name names) this dentist was a breath of fresh air! My daughter needed to have a cavity filled (on a tooth that I was concerned about at the previous unnamed dentist, and they brushed it off saying it was fine) and the staff was amazing with my 3 year old daughter. She was calm throughout the entire experience and I can't say enough good things about this office. You feel like they actually care, and that kind of health care seems so hard to come by these days! My daughter came out from getting her tooth fixed with three Frozen stickers and already asking to go back to see her dentist. Total win!
