After completing his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2002, Dr. Joey Helton served as the Dental Director at Yellowhawk Tribal Health Center in Pendleton, Oregon. During his tenure, he learned to appreciate the Native American culture and got to experience the true Western lifestyle. In October 2005, Dr. Joey accepted an associate position with his brother, Dr. John, at Helton Family Dental Care, P.A. in Amory, Mississippi.

Together, they practice cosmetic and comprehensive family dentistry for the entire family. Dr. Joey attends numerous continuing education courses each year. Dr. Joey has extensive training in anxiety control through DOCS (Doctors of Conscious Sedation), short term adult orthodontics (6 Month Smiles, ClearCorrect, and Invisalign), adult and childrens comprehensive orthodontics (braces), mini and full implants, childrens dentistry, prosthodontics, and chronic adult periodontal therapy. Dr. Joey recently earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Joey attended the University of South Alabama and Springhill College for his undergraduate studies where he was on the baseball team. He is married to Holli Shields Helton of Amory. She teaches eighth grade science at Amory Middle School. Between their son, Mason, and daughter, Kendall, they are kept very busy. Dr. Joey dabbles in many hobbies including motorcycles, baseball, water sports, snow sports, coaching youth sports, and reading. They enjoy participating in all that Monroe County and the surrounding areas have to offer. Dr. Joey and his family attend First Baptist Church in Amory.

Emily is a member of our front office team and is a 2017 graduate of NEMCC where she obtained an Associates degree in applied science. She is a 2012 graduate of Amory High School. She has always lived in the Amory community but now lives in Aberdeen with her husband Chanler, her daughter MaryPaige, and her Labrador Retriever Bobo. In her spare time, Emily enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Bridgett is one of our dental assistants and has over 19 years of experience. She is married to Carl and with their Brady Bunch they have five children, two in-laws, three grands, and one on the way. And lets not forget her dog Lolly! She loves to spend time with her family. She is also a Wellness Advocate for dTERRA Essential Oils. She loves using more natural products for a healthy lifestyle. She is a member of Life at Tupelo church.

Sandra has been employed at Helton Family Dental Care, P.A. since August 2003. She is married to Tim, and they are members of Gregory Chapel Baptist Church. They have one daughter, Emily Morris, and two granddaughters Kallie and Liliannah. Sandra enjoys spending time at their cabin at the lake, fishing, and playing with her granddaughters.

Shawn has been employed at Helton Family Dental Care, P.A. since 1999. She is married to Dr. John, and they have two sons, Davis and Bryce. Her duties at the office include accounting, payroll, public relations, and any other responsibilities dealing with the day-to-day operations of the office. She is an active member in the Parent Teacher Organization at Amory High School. She is also active in her church, First United Methodist in Amory, and serves as the bookkeeper for their preschool. She is also active in the community by serving on the Board of Directors at North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore Hospital, the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and is a member of Amorys Fidelia Club.

Beth joined our front office staff in June 2012. Beth and her husband, Hans, live in Becker and have been married since May 1995. They have two children, Hannah and Andrew. She enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She is a member of Forward Church in Amory.

Robyn joined the hygiene team at Helton Family Dental Care in June 2012. She graduated from Northeast MS Community College in 2010, and has worked in the Columbus area until joining our team. She is married to Justin Evans, and they live in Hamilton, MS. She and Justin attend Hamilton Baptist Church.

Katie is a member of our hygiene team and is a 2016 graduate of Northeast Mississippi Community College. She is originally from Guntown, MS but now resides in Nettleton, MS. She is the proud mother of Harris and aunt to niece, Lovelyn, whose nickname is Tator. In her spare time she likes to travel, fish, and spend time at the lake.

Kayla joined the hygiene team in July 2017. She is a 2016 graduate of the Northeast Mississippi Community College Dental Hygiene program. She is a 2012 graduate of Amory High School. In October 2019, she married Garrett, and they now live in Smithville, MS with their three fur babies: Macie, Hank, and Kit-Kat. They attend First Baptist Church in Okolona.

Danielle is a member of our front office team. She is from Nettleton, Mississippi and graduated from Nettleton High School in 2012. She attended Itawamba Community College for two years. She continued her education at Ashford University where she obtained her Bachelors degree in Marketing. In her spare time, she enjoys online shopping and graphic design. She has two Golden Doodles named Silas and Sophie and a niece named Anabella who keeps her heart full and keeps her busy.

Hannah is a graduate of the Northeast Mississippi Community College Dental Hygiene program. She is a graduate of South Lamar High School and grew up in New Hope, Mississippi. She worked as a dental hygienist in Columbus, MS before moving to Amory with her husband. Hannah attends First Baptist Church in Amory. She enjoys working out and spending time with her friends and family.

Kerigan is a member of our dental assistant team. She comes to us with a few years of dental assisting experience. She has a son named Kellan. She attends Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Hatley, MS. When not at work, she enjoys going to the beach and riding UTVs with her family and friends.
