A 1979 graduate of the Johns Hopkins University and 1983 graduate of the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth UniversitySchool of Dentistry, Ross Heisman has owned and operated the Arundel Dental Group since 1984.He did an additional year of training as ageneral practice resident at Baltimore City Hospital from 1983-1984.Dr. Heisman lives in Annapolis with his wife, Patti.They have two grown children, a son and a daughter.
He is an active member and past president of the Anne Arundel County Dental Society. Dr. Heisman and his assistant volunteer regularly at the Anne Arundel County Dental Outreach Clinic atthe Stanton Center in Annapolis,serving the needs of the county's poor and uninsured population.
In his spare time Dr. Heisman is an avid skier and distance runner, having completed over thirty-five 26.2 milemarathons,two 50 mile ultramarathons and one triathlon.Dr. Heisman is a past president and active member of the Annapolis Striders running club.

Dentist for those who hate dentist! I have always hated dentist - it's not so much fear as it is distrust/dislike - bad experiences as a child. My family has been going to Dr. Heisman for 20 years and the interactions have changed my opinion. I do trust him - and while I still don't like dental procedures, I know I am getting the best care. Dr. Heisman explains what he is doing and why, he doesn't pressure or rush you into it. I no longer dread the dentist! Don't live with dental pain - just go to him! The other staff is friendly and helpful too.

Dr. Heisman is THE BEST! He is very caring, compassionate and competent. So grateful that I found him when I retired from the U.S. Navy. I have referred many friends and colleagues to him and they are equally pleased. His hygienists are superb and his office staff are professional and super pleasant. Customer service is a priority for this practice!

STAY AWAY!! One of the rudest interactions EVER! Billing agent raised her voice and berated me over the phone for asking a simple billing question!! I rarely write a review but this had to be posted. I moved here from out of state and usually I research my dentist before I choose them, but this dentist is in the same building as my primary care physician so I opted for the convenience. BIG MISTAKE! I went in for my 6 month cleaning and received a bill that I never received before. When I called to ask I was told that the insurance company will not pay for the X-ray. When I started to ask why my previous records were not on file, she started screaming at me out of nowhere with "THAT IS NOT HOW WE DO THINGS HERE!" and continued to berate me on how if I had been getting regular cleanings before I would know the procedure. I have been getting regular cleanings EVERY 6 months for the past 30 years and I have NEVER been treated like that. I promptly paid my bill and will no longer use them moving forward. I recommend you look elsewhere for you future dental needs.

I have been going to Dr Heisman's office for 20 years. Marianne is the hygienist there and she is the best. I do not dread going to the dentist. It is actually one of best feelings with how clean my teeth feel after I leave. I would recommend this office to everyone.
