Dr. Frederick A. Heiselman was born in Akron, Ohio where he attended the University of Akron and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1981. He pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry and graduated in 1986. He continued his training as a resident in the OSU General Practice Residency and was invited to become the first Chief Resident in the history of the program. This advanced post-doctoral education included additional training in anesthesia, pediatrics, emergency medicine, geriatrics, temporomandibular joint treatment, endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery and prosthetics. This training also qualified him for Certification of Conscious Intravenous Sedation from the Ohio State Dental Board.
Dr. Heiselman has also lectured to undergraduate dental students at Ohio State University on Hospital Dentistry topics. He has been in private practice since 1988. From 1990 to 1992 he served as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Advanced General Dentistry Clinic at the OSU College of Dentistry. He treated children for four years at the Columbus Children's Hospital Pediatric Dental Clinic. Dr. Heiselman is a Graduate of the Misch International Implant Institute then at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, the premier dental implant teaching facility in the world. He is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
I have been with Dr. Heiselmans practice since its inception in 1996. I am originally from Dayton, Ohio where I obtained my Expanded Functions license from Sinclair Community College. I am dedicated to career development and strive to stay up to date with the latest dental technology.
I have been a registered dental hygienist for 20 years with experience in both general and pediatric dentistry. I enjoy working with patients and making them feel comfortable whether they are 2 or 92!
I graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1994 and have been working in the dental field ever since. I started in dental by working for Metlife dental insuranceand then decided to move into working with patients and people more. From there I started working at private practices and have been there for over 20 years.
