Aidas love for and fascination with science led her to earn a B.S. in Cell & Molecular Biology at CA State University - Northridge (CSUN), where she also earned an M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders in the area of Speech and Language Pathology. Aida has had the privilege of working with clients aged 18-months and up over the past eight years, with an emphasis on play-based early intervention and school-based services. Her areas of clinical expertise include articulation, language, fluency, apraxia of speech, aphasia, functional communication via different Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) options, executive functions, and social skills. Aida has provided in-home services for children under three years of age; school-based services at public preschools, elementary schools, and high schools; community-based services at a university clinic; and in-patient and out-patient services at a veterans' hospital. She has a solid clinical foundation and a passion for supporting and improving meaningful communication abilities with a dedication to providing personalized and quality care for children and their families at the center.

While originally from Iran, Aida grew up and lived in Germany, Florida, Southern California, and as of 2016, the Bay Area. Having lived in multiple locations over her life, she has an appreciation for the rich diversity of our world, our life experiences, how we share these experiences with the people in our lives, and what it can be like when a communication barrier complicates these connections. Aida firmly believes that communication is at the center of who we are.

Speech/Language Pathologists (SLPs) often participate in multi-disciplinary teams in various settings (e.g., schools, hospitals, private practice). You might find it surprising that an SLP and a dentist have anything in common, but there are actually a number of reasons for collaboration or a consult:

Dentists and SLPs work together to determine why your child may be exhibiting a reverse swallow or tongue thrust and establish a plan to help facilitate a more typical swallow pattern and tongue placement. This is particularly important if your child is or will be undergoing orthodontic treatment.

All of these can impact the development of oral structures (e.g., teeth, palate, tongue placement) in your childs mouth and cause issues with speech/articulation and jaw and teeth structure. To drastically decrease the chance of needing braces, talk to Dr. Rahimi/your dentist and me about how and when to eliminate using these.

If your child has an oral cleft, a speech language pathologist and dentist will be important parts of your childs medical team. They will collaborate with you and the rest of the team to determine how your childs speech and feeding skills can be supported.

7/3 update: Yup. still great! My first post-pandemic lockdown cleaning and it felt FANTASTIC. Booking was easy. Appointment was easy. 11/19 update: Still loving it. Invisalign going great. She makes me laugh. LOVE having Kat and Angelo in this office and working so hard and with Kindness. I always leave there smiling. 5/2019 Have loved every experience here. So glad they've got good staffing now, finally!! I appreciate that Dr. Rahimi replaced people who weren't cutting it. Also...started my Invisalign! Woot woot!!! The visual aids are so cool to see the progress. My cleaning was amazing. Thanks, Deb!!! great feedback tips on how to keep my teeth clean with this Invisalign I've got going on. As she put it, glad that I don't have to deal with "metal mouth" lol

Not sure I want people to know how special this little hidden gem is ! If you're fortunate enough to experience the healing powers of Dr Rahimi and her passion for perfection, you may opt to keep it to yourself and that's greedy and I'm ok with that

She used to practice in SoCal. You know how hard it is to find a dentist you can trust?! Thanks, Bay Area! Well, I remain loyal though. Every 4 months I make a trip up to get my cleaning and whatever else that needs to be done. I know, poor me, trips to Frisco. Hoping that San Fran is the farthest she'll go though. Dr. Rahimi is pretty great. When you get a chance, chat with her a little. She got her dentistry degree in West Germany (!), got another degree here at USC, then did residencies and god knows whatever other certifications. She's a machine, that woman. The office is really cute, artsy, and so friendly. She has a light touch and has a thing about educating her patients. What a concept. Anyway. I recommend her. So much that I travel hundreds of miles because once you find a good dentist, you hang on to her. Till the end.
